3 VREUGDE IN SKOU PLUIMVEE/ JOY IN SHOW POULTRY GENERAL SHOW RULES 1. The Show will be an OPEN SHOW 2. Rules regarding Open Shows: (a) Ringed and non-ringed birds August be entered. (b) Adult and young birds will compete in different classes. (c) Young male and female species of poultry: Male and female birds are to be exhibited in young bird classes up to the end of the year following the date on the ring of the bird. (d) A levy of up to 100% of entry fees August be payable to enter non-ringed birds. 3. Rules regarding non-ringed birds: (a) The exhibitor will enter the birds in either an adult or yearling class. (b) The judge must alter the class of any bird entered incorrectly. 4. Preparation tips: (a) Start the preparation of your entries at least 2 months prior to the show. (b) Remove all broken feathers as it takes approximately 8 weeks to re-grow and recover. (c) The beak and toenails must be trimmed 3 days before the show. (d) To tame the bird, it should be taken out of the cage on a regular basis and then placed back. (e) Perhaps the biggest obstacle to an exhibit winning is its cleanliness. ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES 9.1 Your exhibit / stall must be occupied and be ready for the show on Thursday morning at 08: Should an exhibitor failed to occupy their stall before 09:00 on Thursday morning the Show Committee reserves the right to re-let the stall and NO REFUNDS OF ANY MONIES PAID WILL BE MADE. 9.3 The Show Committee reserves the right to move / re-allocate exhibitors to any stand/stall as they wishes without compensating the exhibitor and without any other obligation to the exhibitor. 9.4 Sleeping over on the show grounds are not allowed for exhibitors without a permit. Please apply for a permit before 30 June Exhibitor entry cards per exhibitor will be issued as specified. 9.6 Each exhibitor will be issued with at least one (1) exhibitors parking sticker for parking in the Exhibitors parking next to the public parking. Parking stickers MUST be stuck on the windscreen of your vehicle or NO entry will be allowed. 9.7 Exhibitors will only be allowed to enter the pre-paid parking area to deliver or to pick-up their stock. Exhibitors parking stickers MUST be stuck on the windscreen of the vehicle entering the pre-paid parking or NO entry will be allowed. Exhibitors entering the pre-paid parking area to drop-off or pick-up and go need to sign the security register at the entrance gate. 9.8 Daily parking tickets for the PRE-PAID PARKING area at the back of HALL A and B can be purchased at the Show Office from 1 June R50.00 per car per day. 9.9 Entry concession tickets can be purchased at the Show office No early departure on Saturday will be allowed Please note that the pack-up and departure times for exhibitors in HALL A at 21:00 and all other exhibitors at 22:00 comply to Saturday only. 10. STALLS 10.1 No caravan / tent or vehicle is allowed outside the 8x6m allocated to a caravan stand Floor space occupied to be utilised in full. Open spaces are unsightly Exhibitors will not be allowed to paint or drill nails on any walls or floors Exhibitors exceeding their floor will be invoiced Products and / or items exhibited which are not stipulated on your exhibitors application form are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated No sawdust allowed in the halls No food to be sold by a non-catering exhibitor The subletting, sharing or transferring off a stall by an exhibitor are prohibited The selling of STINK BOMB S or BB GUNS is prohibited No conspicuous drinking of alcohol at exhibits / stalls is allowed. 11. EQUIPMENT 11.1 No tables or chairs are available to be rented from the Show committee Exhibitors are not allowed to damage any property or equipment of the Show Committee. 12. INSURANCE 12.1 The Show Committee are not responsible for any security, insurance, etc. or are not liable for losses, fire damage etc. 4

5 12.2 The Show Committee shall not be responsible for any damage or loss caused by whatsoever. 13. SHOW GROUNDS 13.1 No vehicles, scooters and motorbikes on the show grounds when gates open for the public, this INCLUDES car dealers A courtesy vehicle will be available to deliver heavy stock items or as otherwise arranged with the Show office Sleeping over on the show grounds without a permit is prohibited No dogs allowed on the show grounds No consuming of liquor on the show grounds except in designated licensed areas Please bring a flash light, In case of power failure Entries at the Letaba Show grounds are at own risk Right of admission is reserved No weapons or any other illegal substances may be brought onto the premises. Explosives and all articles and material of a dangerous, inflammable or objectionable sort will not be allowed on the Show Grounds. 14. INDEMNITY 14.1 The applicant indemnifies the Letaba Show Committee or any other company or person being a legal person or a natural person against any damages which may arise to the applicant on any part of the premises or any member of the public in respect of the use of the exhibition area by the applicant as set out herein or as a result of the applicant s presence participation in the Letaba Show and for the time period. 5
