1 NATIONAL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP OF BANGLADESH (Bangladesh Evangelical Alliance) Serving more than 6000 Churches across the nation Program and Activities Report updates (May to August 2012) Regional Women Conference Women delegates from Churches located in the North-eastern part of the country (Greater Mymensingh and Sherpur-Indian border belt) attended at this Regional Conference. More than 105 devotees women from different denominations and different ethnic group in that region shared their burden for Christ and family at the Conference held on July 21-23, The Women Commission Chairperson Rev. Judith Milita Das, and other members touched them in various challenges of Christian women in the family, Churches and community. Kids Program and Sunday School Teachers Training More than 40 Church lay leaders and Pastors were invited for this training to motivate them to have Sunday School at each and every Church and to provide some skills to run Sunday School at their Churches. The training was held on July 12-13, This is an important initiative for helping growing especially for new believers children for spiritual growth and also for learning of Christianity. For practical exposure, a kids program was also conducted at the Church for the community kids including Muslim kids. 2 Capacity Building Training for Church young people The Capacity building training program was held on the 13 July 2012 at the Zion Baptist Church Center at the heart of Chittagong port city. More than 60 Christian young people studying different Universities and Colleges attended at this Training. They were taught to witness Christ with friends at their study places and to be part of Church programs and future leadership. (Picture: 1 st left-education Board Chairman Rev. Youth Leaders Consultation 2012 Central Youth leaders from all member denominations met together at the Church of Nazarene venue at Srimongol to discuss the challenges of Christian young people and also general young people and NCFB s youth commission s role to those challenges. 16 key Youth Leaders from 19 member denominations joined at this important consultation on the 13 July (Picture: 1 st right-analyzing reports from all denominational youth leaders. 2 nd center-youth at the end of consultation.)

3 22 remote rural pastors attended at this month-long special comprehensive biblical training course. The training took place during July 1-31, 2012 at the NCFB Savar Training Center. Beside systematic bible training some special classes on Climate Change and Preparedness, Self Help group, Awareness building on HIV/AIDS and some other contemporary social issues were addressed at the training. Barefooted Pastors Training To strengthen Churches in Bangladesh on Human Rights and Religious Liberty, NCFB has been running a training program for building awareness and to response any injustice incident systematically. 92 pastors and lay leaders from Churches across the country got training in the following four sessions during the period of January to August a. 4 Beauty parlor girls spiritual care seminar Many Christian girls work in different beauty parlors in the Dhaka city. There are lots of stories of abuses and injustices. Specially one tribal community girls are mostly involved in this job. The Women Commission took the initiative to help these girls to bring discipline in their spiritual lives and also to introduce their local Churches and pastors so that they could be taken care properly. Also to discuss with the business owners to manage Sunday or Friday for these girls so that they can attend Church services. 12 girls attended at this seminar on the 27 of August at Sinoi Church. A good discussion was made with them for future steps. (Picture restricted) Sunday School Teachers Training (AWANA) On the June Sunday School teacher delegates from all member denominations attended at this training program. Various AWANA Sunday School materials were introduced for different ages groups for Churches. A short training were given on each materials for primary use of those materials. Seminar on Urban Evangelism For Chittagong Port City Pastors from all protestant Churches in Chittagong port city participated at this exclusive Urban Evangelism Consultation held on August 24 at Zion Church. Different paper were presented on the Chittagong city people and Church growth. It was like an eye opening for all Churches Pastors in the city that there are now only 15 Churches in the last 400 years of evangelism in that city. First evangelism was made at this city in the very early of 1600 AD. Pastors discussed various obstacles in evangelism and also put their hands together and took significant initiative for future evangelism. (Picture: Rev. 5 Christian Leadership Development Assistance Program 22 CLAP recipient students completing higher education were invited for a workshop on Higher education in secular field and the need of theological education for our Churches in Bangladesh. And also a session of reading Christian literacy and taking part of developing Christian literacy was taken by the former president of Bangladesh Christian Publication Forum. A good response was found among participants for interest of studying theology and reading and writing Christian literacy. (Picture: 1 st right-rev. Apart from the above programs and activities some international days and NCFB national days were observed among Churches to grow awareness on those issues. Churches across the country were provided materials and particular teaching on those observances. National Christian Fellowship of Bangladesh expresses deeper gratitude for continuous prayer and all supports from all partners for implementing above activities to strengthen Churches and mission works in Bangladesh
