Everything is difficult without Allah subhana wa ta'ala s help. Nothing is easy, we need to ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to help us.

1 7 th February Hadith: An-Nawawi: (Hadith 22) Lecture by Sister Eman al Obaid Allah subhana wa ta'ala created us all for Paradise. There are many ways to reach paradise. Now we will talk about going to Paradise collectively Spreading the salaam Giving food Praying in the night In addition to this another way mentioned in other hadith is to keep the ties with your relatives. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallamsaid If you guarantee six things from yourself Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam guaranteed Paradise for you. 1 be truthful when you speak 2 fulfill your promises and covenants 3 if anyone gives you a trust, you need to fulfill your trust 4 guard your chastity 5 guard your eyes (lower your gaze) 6 something not concerning you guard your hands. Are these things easy or difficult? Everything is difficult without Allah subhana wa ta'ala s help. Nothing is easy, we need to ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to help us. 1

2 A hadith especially for women If you are praying the five obligatory prayers If you only fasted during the month of Ramadan If you guarded your chastity If you obeyed your husband. Allah subhana wa ta'ala made it so easy for you you just have to do the obligatory. Guarding your chastity will stop you and stop others falling into sin. The covering is only for women because that is where the attraction is. Obeying the husband is obeying for the deen, not obeying for the dunya, Allah subhana wa ta'ala comes first. The struggle is with the last one. If you obey your husband for his sake you will fail because the love cannot be forever. Obey your husband for the Sake of Allah, it will solve so many problems for you and you will be rewarded for that. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make it easy, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will change his heart. If you fight the kids will be affected and you will be affected. The reward It will be said to her to enter by any of the 8 gates of Paradise. One gate is like the Heavens and the Earth. You will be given a choice, every gate has a merit, every gate is for some ibadah. If you do these four things you will be called from all the doors of Paradise. Wudu 2 Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallamwhen to do wudu with ihsan and then make du a, all the doors of Paradise will be opened for you. A small deed can lead to Paradise. But because our hearts are occupied with other things you cannot focus.

3 Hadith Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam said say Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasooluhu. Jannah is the truth and Hellfire is the truth. The gates of paradise will be opened for that person. This is a small deed with lots and lots of reward, even if you just say it once with belief. TO ACCOMPANY PROPHET MUHAMMAD SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM You want to go to paradise and you want to accompany Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam Al-Firdaws al-a'la Obeying Allah and His Messenger Hadith: One man came to Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam and said I love you. I love you and I remember you. Everytime I want to come to you and see you. But then I remember you will go to Paradise and I cannot go where you go. Now I can t wait to see you, so what about in Paradise. It is very difficult for me to accept this. I would love to be with you in the same position. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn t reply but Allah subhana wa ta'ala revealed a verse of the Qur an. Chapter (4) sūrat l-nisāa (The Women) 3

4 4:69 And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions. If you are obeying Allah subhana wa ta'ala and the Messenger of Allah, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make you to be with the Messengers. So don t ever say you will not do something because it is a hadith. Those whom you love Hadith: A man asked the Prophet about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., "You will be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet, Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs. Always make your love purely for the Sake of Allah. We need to love the Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the Ambiya, the Mursileen etc. in order to accompany them on the Day of Judgment. Today people love people who do not deserve to be loved. You will be resurrected with the people whom you love. We cannot do what Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam did, or what Abu Bakr and Umar did, but if you love them you will accompany them on the Day of Judgment into Paradise and their position is very high. This is the true love. If you love somebody you don t need one day for them (Valentine s Day). Love is for the Sake of Allah, but now they are selling the love. Allah subhana wa ta'ala is so generous, just if you love the prophets you will accompany them. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will appreciate that love if it is good and pure. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala ask you for your love. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala put the love in your heart. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make us to love whomever He loves. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make us love all the deeds which He loves. Ameen. One man saw Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wake up in the night and pray the night prayer. Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked him what do you want? The man said I want to be with you in Paradise. Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said You need to ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to help you to do more prostrating (more voluntary prayer). 4

5 They don t think of the dunya matters as they know the dunya will go, it will perish and the real life is in the akhirah. Add this to your intention list in your heart. Taking Charge of an Orphan A person who is taking charge of an orphan, they will be close to Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. If you know an orphan and you take care of them, give them money, etc. you will be very close to Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. You have different ways you can be in this position. These hadith make you to understand Allah subhana wa ta'ala Make you to love Allah subhana wa ta'ala more and you can feel how Allah subhana wa ta'ala is so generous giving us all these chances. Sometimes you have all the means but you cannot do anything may Allah subhana wa ta'ala help us to act upon this knowledge. This is the way to accompany Prophet Muhammad ṣallallahu alayhi wa sallam. THE RANKS IN PARADISE The darajat (ranks) in Paradise go up and up, the ranks of Hellfire go down and down. From one level of Paradise to the next is like the distance between you and you looking at the stars. The people in an upper level can see the people in the level below. The distance between one level and another level is the distance between the Heavens and the Earth a huge distance. IN THE DUNYA PEOPLE HAVE RANKS BUT CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEIR RANKS? The difference is very little. WHAT DO YOU WANT? DON T YOU WANT TO BE ELEVATED? I want to be elevated in rank. In the dunya we want a higher level. DON T YOU WANT A BETTER LEVEL IN PARADISE? THE DEEDS TO MAKE YOU GO TO A HIGHER LEVEL, TO BE ELEVATED. Read the Qur an Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said Read the Qur an, as you read you will be raised one level. 5

6 If a person is living with the Qur an it will stay and remain in his heart until the Day of Judgment. If you just remember with your memory you will not remember. It is not your intelligence which makes you to remember the Qur an. Understand AlhamduliLlahi Rabbil Alameen All praise and thanks due to Allah subhana wa ta'ala, because of His perfection, because of His beauty, because of His attributes, because of His blessings. Nobody deserves the praise except Allah subhana wa ta'ala. I am really feeling this. When you feel one ayah of the Qur an you will go up one level in Paradise. For this Kalam Allah made levels. Where will be your level? According to how much you read in life. These hadith make you understand what you are supposed to do in life. When you learn one ayah you don t say I learnt only one ayah, you say AlhamduliLlah one ayah. You need to appreciate the little things so that Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you more. Quality is very important. Ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to help you. A Pious Child Hadith: Allah will elevate the pious person in Paradise. The pious person will ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala How come I have been elevated, I didn t do much? It will said to him After you passed away your son made istighfar for you. This is something you didn t do but if you made istighfar for your parents, grandparents etc. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will elevate them in rank in Paradise because of your istighfar. If your son or daughter are righteous, after you die your children will make istighfar for you. A righteous child is a big blessing from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. A person will be elevated not because they themselves did anything, but because of the istighfar of their children. Something associated with this is if you have a family and one member of the family is in a higher level of Paradise and the rest of the family are in lower levels of Paradise, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will gather them by His mercy to the higher level. Just one member of your family is in a higher level and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will elevate everyone. This is Allah subhana wa ta'ala s blessing and bounty. Nobody gives like Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Paradise is a pure and beautiful life eternal happiness. HOUSE S IN PARADISE. Don t you want to build a house in Paradise? A house anywhere needs a lot of work, money and effort. 6

7 Some people have a house in different places. In paradise the more you do, you will also have houses in different places in Paradise. Right now in the dunya nothing is yours, even if you own a house, the house is not yours because you will leave it or it will go away. You need to make an effort an effort of the heart. Baitul Jannah Description of Jannah. I asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Of what was the creation made?" He replied: "Of water." We asked: "(As for) Paradise, what is its foundation?" He said: "One brick of gold and one brick of silver. Its mortars are of musk of strong scent, its stones are pearls and emeralds, and its soil is of saffron. Whoever enters it will be in bliss and not in want, live in bliss and not die, their clothes will not get old, and their youth will not end." (Ahmad, Tirmidhi) - your age will always be 33 the best age. If this is your desire, then you will have a reaction (desire) and an action. To get baitul Jannah you need husn al khuluq Giving up Arguing and Debating Allah s Messenger said: "(a) I guarantee a home in Paradise for a person who gives up arguments and disputes even if he is on the truth. (b) And [I (also) guarantee] a home in the middle of Paradise for a person who gives up lying (false statements) even while joking. (c) And [I (also) guarantee] a home in the highest part of Paradise for a person who has a high standard of character." (This Hadith is quoted by Abu Dâwûd, At-Tirmidhi, Nasâ i and Ibn Majah). Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is guaranteeing a house in Paradise in a lower level if you leave a dispute and you are having the truth and you give it up for the sake of Paradise. Adnan Paradise, like you have valley s and mountains you will have a house in a valley or on top of a mountain, in a different place. If you are husn khuluq for the Sake of Paradise you will have the highest place in Paradise is under the Throne of Allah. Husn Khuluq is very heavy on the scale. 7

8 A house will be built in Heaven for one who prays 12 Rak'aat in a day and evening as follows: 4 Rak'aat before and 2 after the Dhuhr Prayer, 2 after the Maghrib Prayer, 2 after the Ishaa Prayer and 2 before the Fajr Prayer." Narrated by at-tirmizi under No He said: The Hadith narrated by Anbasah quoting Umm Habibah in this chapter is a hassan and sahih hadith. It is under No in Sahih al-jaami. Praying 12 voluntary rakat every day. - 2 before Fajr - 4 before Zuhr & 2 after Zuhr - 2 after Maghrib - 2 after Isha You don t need to spend money to have a house in Paradise. You will be a real owner in Paradise by doing some action does not cost anything. Building a masjid for Allah s sake or contribute Allah subhana wa ta'ala will build a house for you in Paradise. Reciting Surat al Ikhlas x 10 Hadith: If you read surat al Ikhlas 10 times you will get a house in Paradise. Each time you read this surah 10 times, you will get a house in Paradise. This for those who have lost a child. Hadith: The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: When a person's child dies, Allah the Most High asks His angels, Have you taken out the life of the child of My slave? They reply in the affirmative. He then asks, Have you taken the fruit of his heart? They reply in the affirmative. Thereupon he asks, What has My slave said? They say: He has praised You and said: Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji un (We belong to Allah and to Him we shall be returned). Allah says: Build a house for My slave in Jannah and name it Bait-ul-Hamd (the House of Praise). [Tirmidhi] 8

9 Recite the dua for entering the market: None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is living and does not die. In His hand is all good and He is over all things, omnipotent. It is narrated in the hadith: Whoever recites the above dua after entering the market, will receive a million rewards, one million sins of his shall be forgiven, his rank will be raised by a million stages and (in some narrations) he will receive a house in Jannah [Ibn Majah] Rows of Jamm ah If you pray Jamm ah and fill the gaps to complete the rows, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will build a house for you in Paradise. 10 If a person says Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah There is no might and no power except by Allah. Plants in Paradise The plants in Paradise are SubhanaAllah, walhamdu lillah, wa Laa Ilaaha IllAllah, wallaahu Akbar - you will have plants in Paradise when you say these kalimat. When you say SUB-HAN'ALLAH HIL AZEEM WA BI-HAM'DIHI a date palm will be planted for you in Paradise. 10

When you say; Allaahumma innee as-alukal jannah O Allah I ask you to grant me Paradise Three times Paradise will speak and will make a dua to Allah Admit that person to Paradise. Allah will admit you to Paradise by making all the means to Paradise easy for you. You say this du a - In your sujood - Before the salaam - When you wake - Anytime This is fadl min Allah no one is more generous than Allah but you need to go towards Allah. Ya Rabbi, increase me in guidance and keep me on the way of guidance until the last moment of my life. This is a transcript of a lecture given by Sister Eman al Obaid.
