14 Total Lifecycle Management Assessment Tool TLCM-AT Models Fleet Level Probability of Failure Probability of Failure Time Predicts usage across the fleet. Enables Lifecycle Manager to predict spares requirements and predict associated costs. 14
15 Total Lifecycle Management Assessment Tool Using IUID Generated Data IUID Enables Refined Analysis of Component Level Probability of Failure. Probability of Failure Time Component level Weibull analysis, informed by IUID data, provides more granular data to the predictive model facilitating more accurate maintenance planning at the platform level, which makes it possible to PLAN maintenance rather than react as well as to position spares where they will be needed. 15

There is no knowledge of the condition of components on the vehicle, or of the risk of impending failures. 18
19 Planned Maintenance Three Separate Failures Total Down Time < 12 Days Availability Down Time Waiting Parts 8 days Repair < 4 days Most maintenance down time is spent awaiting parts. IUID data enables accurate prediction of upcoming required maintenance action in order that several such events can be packaged to be conducted at one time. Simultaneous repairs of multiple failures will also reduce total repair time. 19
20 Predictive Maintenance Three Separate Failures Total Down Time < 4 Days Availability Down Time Repair < 4 days Needed parts can be ordered before the vehicle is brought to maintenance. When the vehicle is brought in, the parts are awaiting the vehicle eliminating Logistics Delay down time completely, increasing Availability by 26 days over the period demonstrated. 20

25 How Do We Get From Here to There? Data must be captured in the field Data must be made available to Marines in the field We must put a tool in the hands of maintainers and operators in the field that will enable them to capture and use IUID data This tool cannot add to the burden of the Marine It must save time and effort rather than create extra work The tool should be an integral part of the maintenance process It should be hardware agnostic However, hardware with appropriate capabilities should be sought 25
