2 Message from the Headmaster Today, June 5, is World Environment Day, and their theme this year is Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care. The theme is based on the premise that dreaming is the first step towards achieving and creating a future you want and they are encouraging all of us to share our dreams with them for a healthier planet. We discussed this in our assembly on Monday and throughout the week pupils have been sharing with me some of their dreams and pledges. One pupil in Year 8 has pledged to not use their electronic devices for 24 hours in an attempt to reduce their own personal level of resource consumption. Knowing how reliant we have become on such gadgets, that is an impressive pledge! Dreams are, of course, an individual action, but when they are shared they can lead to a collective power that can have an enormous impact. Let s encourage our children to share their dreams with us and give them the positive support to help make those dreams come true. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Barrington theatre next week for our performances of Annie the musical. Junior School Mrs. Smith is pleased to announce this week s Role Models are: Richard Milner-Smith Class Year R: Year One: Year Two: Year Three: Year Four: Year Five: Year Six: Role Model Tabitha Mia Mea Phoebe Rohan Tom Henry Sporting Success for Edward On Saturday 23 rd May Edward in Year 4 competed at the Dorset County Championships where he won the U11 75m in a time of 11.6 seconds. He also came third in the long jump. Well done Edward! What amazing achievements.

3 Years 5, 6 and 7 Camp out at school Years 5, 6 and 7 had the annual Camp Out in the school grounds last Friday and what a glorious evening it was! The perfect weather after the downpour in the morning! Once we had put up our tents and had our tea we split into two groups. Together with a partner the children had to complete two tasks in which one partner was blindfolded and their partner had to guide them. The tasks involved rolling tyres around an obstacle course and filling empty buckets with cups of water! The pupils really got stuck into helping each other. At nightfall we had a magical night walk over the forest. The skies were clear so when our eyes adjusted to the dark it was almost like walking in day light. After a good night s sleep, our morning activities involved a spider s web, and a rope swing exercise that again required teamwork and good communication to complete. With tents put away, the camp out was over. A fantastic time was had by all.

4 GCSE Catering Congratulations to all of the Yr 11 GCSE Catering students who successfully achieved their Level 2 Award in Food Hygiene & Safety in Catering. Well done. A Continental Breakfast! Mrs Meakin and Mrs Pragnell rewarded our linguists with a French & Spanish breakfast. We wish them luck in their future language studies.

5 Boarders News The planned weekend activity last week was a trip to New Forest Water Park, where we spent an exhausting hour bouncing, jumping, splashing and swimming at the UK's 1st Wibit Outdoor, Floating Inflatable. We all braved the miserable weather, donned our wetsuits (well most of us) and jumped into the water. Mr & Mrs Penrose joined in with the fun and could be seen catapulting students off the inflatable cushions. Hot chocolate and warm showers were welcome after the very tiring event. The team spirit displayed by the whole group was amazing, with everyone helping each other. A great trip, which I am sure will be repeated soon. Reminder! If you haven t already done so, please remember to buy your tickets for next week s production of Annie. The children have been working incredibly hard on it this week and it looks amazing.

6 PTA Moyles Court School Car Boot Sale The Annual Moyles Court School Car Boot Sale took place last Saturday on the School playing fields. It was lovely to see so many members of the School Community either buying or with their own tables. The PTA did a marvellous job arranging the whole thing and supplying us with tea and coffee, cakes and bacon butties! They raised just over 600, which is a fantastic sum. The boarders would like to say a huge thank-you to all the parents and staff who donated items for the car boot sale. We managed to raise over 50 which is going towards the end of term boarders party. The boarders were a great help on the day helping to direct cars to their parking spaces.
