22 The Project and the System Specifications Signalling: Drive on line of sight, max speed: 70km/h No bi-directional operation No ATC expected SCADA, ITCS, PSIS and Control room: Passenger Information Displays (PID) at stations SCADA system has no active safety role CCTV at all stations and sections and in trains Control Center for normal and fall back operation 22

27 The Project and the System Specifications Procurement Strategy, current thoughts: Light rail system (TS) separate from road works Operation & Maintenance may be included in TS tender Functional requirements where possible Focus on: Staying within Construction Budget Establishing good conditions for the supplier to give competitive bids Ensuring high reliability and service availability Ensuring low life cycle cost Limiting nuisance to neighbours and road users during construction 27
