Based on the feedback obtained from the faculty as regards teaching-learningevaluation, especially as regards teaching is that, we have introduced Group Discussions on current events and other syllabi-wise subjects. Learning is made more attractive with practical exposure. Evaluation is made continuous so that students are update and proactive all through the course. b) Students on staff, curriculum as well as teaching-learning-evaluation and what is the response of the department to the same? Students offer suggestions through one-to-one discussions. Some students who are proactive also come up with solutions. Their aspirations are placed in the Board of Studies, passed and then approval is taken by the Academic Council and Governing Body. Then, the same is incorporated into curriculum. c) Alumni and employers on the programmes and what is the response of the department of the same? The structured Alumni Association and at times a casual meeting with the alumni and presently the Social Networking Sites like Facebook, Twitter have served as sources for providing suggestions. Arathi, Programme Producer, Doordarshan, Dr. Vasu Malali, Associate Professor, Dept. of History, BUB. 33. List the teaching methods adopted by the faculty for different programmes. For the I year: The syllabus is so structures that it has practicals in it. Students are trained to use social networking sites and blog ( wherein they write reports and features. This requires actual understanding of the content, correcting the content the students write, supervise the entire blog writing. In addition, each student is given a particular current issue and they present papers in the PPT mode on the same. There will be an interactive session between the audience that includes faculty members and the students with the presenter. Group Discussions are also held on relevant current topics. For the II year: They bring out a lab journal which is theme based and also they work on dissertation which is a part of the syllabus. All the students undergo internships in the media outlets and other avenues of the media mandatorily for eight weeks. They also produce documentaries, short films and public service advertisements. In addition, each student is given a particular current issue and they present papers in the PPT mode on the same. There is a Facebook page where the students share the interesting relevant information with the group. Students of both the years attend seminars, conferences and workshops regularly not only in Bangalore but also in other parts of the country. Films are screened regularly in the AV room and there will be an interactive session on the film. 34. How does the department ensure that programme objectives are constantly met and learning outcomes monitored? A small questionnaire about the objectives of the course and learning outcomes is prepared and uploaded on SNS and other related websites, students who are techsavvy give their opinions. Every academic year, this is analyzed and changes are made in the academic programme wherever required.
