2 2(7) 1. DESCRIPTION This Technical specification describes the Combat Vest System 12 (called SVS 12). The system is used by the solider to carry needed equipment in different pouches during his missions. The SVS 12 can be combined in many various configurations depending on the soldiers duty and mission. The Combat Vest System 12 is made of polyester mesh fabric and polyurethane coated polyamide fabric. Both fabrics are flame retardant treated. The colour is green-brown. The system consists of one standard vest in two sizes, the belt comes in three sizes, 10 different pouches and a storage bag. It is also possible for some units to use a concealed vest instead of the standard vest. The Combat vest 12 consists of a front piece, one adjustable belt, one back pocket, one yoke, H-bars, T-bars, long T-bars and I-bar. The front and back pocket are equipped with horizontal webbings, PALS system, for attaching the pockets with a special locking design to the vest. The vest has a zip opening. The pouches are Multi pouch small-, medium and large, Single magazine pouch, Magazine pouch, Grenade pouch, Personal trauma pouch, Dump pouch, Multi tool pouch and Tourniquet pouch. The Storage bag is made of mesh fabric in black colour with black webbings on the inside for all parts of the system to be attached. The Concealed vest 12 is made for special units who need to conduct tasks with a lower profile, less offensive. The vest is made in 3 sizes.
