INTERIORARCHITECTS AND PROJECTMANAGERS On the road for 21 years! No retrospective but a short update of what tomorrow will bring. From the beginning our fascination and focus lies in identifying and understanding cultural values, strategic goals and the functional requirements of our clients and translate them into spatial terms. We recognise the technical, economic and sociological forces that are transforming the way people work and live: the blurring boundaries between home and office, the ever increasing mobility of the workforce and the fluid movement of information. Through our design process, we strive to connect people, shape relationships and empower organisations to produce new invigorating forms of human community. That s how the most prosperous companies thrive in a global economy, and it s how we have thrived for 21 years. The concern for a better, sustainable world is now broadly supported. We contribute to this is by making flexible, sustainable, healthy environments. Driven and inspired by valuable creations and rich experiences for the users. Living environments that do what they must do. Hans Reineke, Fabian de Zwart hollandse-nieuwe.com
COST VERSUS VALUE Our profession is often seen dealing only with aesthetics and cost. But design can be much more. Great design can contribute an enormous amount to changing, improving, connecting and inspiring organisations. The added value of a specific design is immediately recognisable and leads to increased job satisfaction, heathy work communities, lower investment costs and the attraction and retention of talented employees. VOPAK M 2 DELIVERED 2014
KNOWLEDGE Our approach is informed by a deep understanding of and research into the changing nature of working and learning. Exploring these themes globally, regionally, and locally provides us with knowledge that we can apply across a wide range of sectors. From corporate and governmental workplaces and learning environments to retail, hospitality and healthcare, our knowledge and our experience in how it can be applied leads to the cross-fertilization of ideas across work sectors and to insight and innovation. RENOVATION, REVITALIZED GORINCHEM STATION DELIVERED 2013
IDENTITY By designing strong architectural frameworks, we make the core values of an organization tangible and recognizable in the spaces they inhabit. We see intelligent use of space as a powerful tool that can personify a client s social, cultural and functional needs, helping to shape, promote and enhance relationships between people. EREDIVISE 2.600M 2 OPGELEVERD 2012
NEW WAYS OF WORKING How organisations work, organise and produce is a continually changing process. IT solutions continue to develop at exponential speed. The role of HR remains crucial in the war for fresh talent. Real Estate s role is diverse and in flux. Regarding work, the quality of a physical environment is crucial, whose value increases proportionally in relation to the continued virtualisation of work itself. TRANSITION WORK ENVIRONMENTS COMPETITION 2014
SUSTAINABILITY Sustainable design is integrated design.truly sustainable design however is far more than the latest technological solutions. Social sustainability should play a role. By promoting and encouraging shared responsibilities, sustainable usage and ownership and extensive knowledge sharing, not only can you create a technically sustainable building and interior but a building and a place that is healthy and that increases the quality of life for all users. There is a strong connection between sustainability, society, circularity, technology and humanity that can give substance and direction to an organizations ambitions. Hollandse Nieuwe have specific Breeam experience. In projects such as PHILIPS Amsterdam (Breeam in Use ***), UPC Leeuwarden (Breeam***, with architect Paul de Ruiter) and with Greenpeace Nederland (Breeam ***). GREENPEACE 2.500M 2 DELIVERED 2014
RENOVATION / FUNCTION CHANGES We are increasingly being approached by landlords with the question What is it that users actually need?. By working with many companies and institutions over the course of twenty years, we have amassed a great deal of experience and understanding as to what an individual, a Knowledge Group or a Collective would fundamentally need in order to achieve their goals. And, within all these diverse and specific solutions, the challenge of placing the user at the very core still remains the key to success. 247 TU DELFT, HAAGSE POORT, BLAAK TOWER
TECHNOLOGY Technology continues to influence where, how what information we receive, process and communicate. The internet of things, big data, smart and wearable technologies give direction to how we work, learn, shop and live. Hollandse Nieuwe are following these developing technologies with great interest and employ the most relevant examples in our projects. HAAGSE POORT TRANSFORMATION GROUNDFLOOR CBRE COMMISSIONED BY EVANS RANDALL
RESEARCH This year we initiated the Hollandse Nieuwe Lab. It is here that we can identify research trajectories and develop custom solutions that we feel are important to our office and our clients. The use of Virtual Reality via Oculus Rift, the consequences of the internet of things and the impact of the Circularity economy are our current research areas. COMPETITION 2014
COLLABORATION Hollandse Nieuwe undertake projects involving many forms of partnerships, from knowledge partners, architects, suppliers, advisors, to partnering in PPS consortia, Design & Build, building teams, etc. Great teams gain knowledge and insight from the considerations and specialisms of participating team members. Within our project responsibilities we keep the process moving and contribute proactively towards the best results for our clients. The substantial knowledge Hollandse Nieuwe have, together with the well organised and streamlined processes of NOORD projectmanagers form a foundation around which larger teams can be built. PPS RIVM M 2
HOLLANDSE NIEUWE INTERNATIONAL We recently joined The European Architects Alliance this consortium of design practices, which operates through mutually beneficial cooperation and, through its 500+ personnel, brings to international projects a wealth of informed experience and local knowledge. The EAA is well placed to provide an effective service for clients whose needs transcend national boundaries, as well as for companies pursuing global roll-out developments. These established relationships create a unified platform from which to deliver projects for multi-national organisations. For more information, please visit VOPAK 3.000M 2 DELIVERED 2014
