Also consult the midyear revision booklet and all notes and hand-outs given throughout the year. English Language and Comprehension (Revise all Grade 7 work as well as Grade 8 Language) New work includes puns malapropisms, tautology, errors of concord, ambiguity, denotative and connotative meaning, prefixes & suffixes, colloquial speech, jargon, cliché, slang, dictionary terms and skills. Advertising terms and notes need to be revised as this will be tested in the language section as well as visual literacy. Additional punctuation includes dash, hyphen, brackets, colon, semicolon and italics. Different types of text, audience and purpose. Summary and Visual Literacy as for Grade 7 (cartoons) including analysis of adverts, posters, film stills and other forms of visual text taught in class. Literature: Novel The Graveyard Book Learn from your own notes as well as the worksheets and revision test and worksheet. Poetry First Frost, When I go Home, The African Pot, Drummer Hodge, The Arrival of the Bee Box, The Poet (Booklet titled Poetry 2013 Grade 8 Term 4) and one unseen Poem: Revise figures of speech and terms from Move into English Poetry Units25&26.
