7 PRE-RIO CAMP The camp is open to all athletes according to their Pre-Paralympic preparation plans Personal coaches are welcome to attend all training camps (at their expense) Camp Dates August 27 th September 4 th Transportation to Juiz de Fora is still being finalized, but will take place on Saturday August 27 th (Rio Juiz de Fora)

9 TEAM CANADA TRAVEL All travel for athletes, coaches, and support staff must be booked with the CPC (Stage and Screen Travel) Travel costs are funded by the CPC At the lowest available fare in economy class The CPC will cover the equivalent cost of a home-to- Games-to-home roundtrip for approved funded team members. All travel bookings MUST be made through the CPC approved travel agent (Stage and Screen)

10 TRAVEL Team Travel Dates Athletics Canada has arranged the following group booking with the CPC: Depart Toronto on Friday August 26 th Arrive in Rio on Saturday August 27 th and travel to Juiz de Fora Depart Rio on Monday September 19 th or Tuesday September 20 th (September 19 th is pending availability) Direct flights to/from Toronto-Rio are below Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to Rio Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday to Toronto Avoid any flights through Sao Paulo

11 PERSONAL COACHES We will do our very best to accommodate personal coaches to ensure high performance preparation is continued in Brazil Team Coach/Personal Coach Policy and Selection for Major Events All personal coaches will have to sign a Personal Coach agreement form prior to arrival in Juiz de Fora and/or Rio Unfortunately, there is no guarantee or purchase for accreditations, venue passes or tickets Coaches will be required to book all your own travel, but we can provide you our travel agent contact from Stage and Screen You are welcome to be part of our ground transportation between Rio and Juiz de Fora. During games you will need to secure your own transportation Most communication will be completed through WhatsApp In Juiz de Fora personal coaches will be staying on a separate floor or be booked in a separate hotel and have meals away from the rest of the Team Personal coaches are responsible for their own meals and costs

12 VILLAGE September 5 first entry into village September 6 Team Meeting September 20 last exit from village Athletes must stay within the village until their event is completed: Highly recommended due to increase risk of infection, illness and safety outside of the village boundaries. Family and friends will NOT be able to enter the Village at any time CPC village power point Photos

13 VILLAGE Team Canada building is not exclusive to just Canada, there will be other countries housed with us Condominium 3, building minutes walk from Team Canada building to the dining hall There is an internal Village shuttle Mosquito screens will be installed in each bedroom window not on patio doors A/C will be provided in each bedroom Laundry facilities will be located in the parking level of the building

14 ACCOMMODATIONS Fully accredited Team Members will be staying in the Village during the Games The CPC rooming allotment is made up of two and three-bedroom apartments, both of which include a large social area and balcony Rio 2016 will provide free-of-charge Wi-Fi internet access in all residential apartments in the Paralympic Village. Passwords will be displayed in apartments. Some staff members will be staying at the CPC Performance Centre

15 PERFORMANCE CENTRE (PC) Some selected staff members and personal coaches will be housed at the PC in double rooms This environment is ONLY for Team Canada The PC is a short walk from Olympic Park, shopping malls, etc. The PC support desk will assist in providing detailed information regarding options and schedules for transport between the Paralympic Village and the CPC Performance Center. 16 OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONY Athletics Canada will not be participating in the Opening Ceremony Only athletes and team officials who are in possession of an ACTIVE accreditation on the day of the ceremony are eligible to march in the closing ceremonies Closing Ceremonies Sunday September 18 th at Maracana Stadium

17 ACCREDITATIONS All Team Members named to the Paralympic Team will receive their pre-valid accreditation prior to departure from Canada You must travel with your pre-valid accreditation as this will be your Visa to get into Rio Selected staff members will be provided training venue passes (TVP) daily

21 CANADA PARALYMPIC HOUSE (CPH) The Canadian Paralympic Committee s Games hosting program is focused on providing a familiar environment for celebrating the Games experience with the members of the Canadian Paralympic Team, their families and friends, sponsors, partners, etc. CPH serves as a key media site for the Canadian Paralympic Team (medal celebrations, media briefings and interview opportunities) Location: Sheraton Barra Rio de Janeiro Hotel Avenida Lucio Costa 3150 Barra da Tijuca Rio de Janeiro Brazil CPH will open from September 7-18, 2016 Access to CPH requires pre-registration with the CPC no members of the public or non-registered individuals are allowed access to CPH.
