Holiday guests who have a Butler Card may take part in the extensive Alm Butler weekly programme free of charge. Meeting/starting point: Kornockbahn chairlift station waiting room (applies to all programmes) Registration: the day before at hotel reception/tourist office by p.m. SUNDAY ALM BUTLER 3-LAKE HIKE 5 June 23 October 2016 After a welcome and brief presentation of the Alm Butler weekly programme you will hike together with our Alm Butler starting from Turracher See, past the Schwarzsee onward to the Sonnenbahn chairlift station, from where we hike to the Grünsee and retrace our steps to the starting point. Start: 11.00am Return to starting point: approx. 2.00pm Degree of difficulty: easy MONDAY NEW: ALMHEU HIKE 6 June 24 October 2016 The Almheu is rich in various grasses, flowers and herbs, which also mean they are good for spa applications. People were aware of their special quality centuries ago. Hay farmer Franz Grubenbauer can tell you more about this as he takes you on a hike through the Nockberge and welcomes you on his alpine pasture with a lunchtime snack and what else but a shot of Heuschnaps. You ll return with the Butler shuttle. 2 TUESDAY ALM BUTLER SUNRISE TOUR 7 June 25 October 2016 If you want to enjoy the Nockberge at sunrise, you should be up on the Schoberriegel (2,208 metres) with the Alm Butler early in the morning. Getting up so early is rewarded by a breathtaking view of the Nockberge and a light breakfast. The tour is accompanied by both Alm Butlers. You can decide at the summit whether to return to the valley or spend the day climbing to the peak of St. Lorenzen (6 hours). Start: 4.00am (from September 5.00am) Duration: approx hours climbing Return to starting point: approx. 8.00am Degree of difficulty: medium NEW: HIKE TO SUMMIT OF ST. LORENZEN 7 June 25 October 2016 After a glorious sunrise and hearty breakfast at the Schoberriegel you can extend your early morning tour to complete a six-hour hike with your Alm Butler. The route continues over alpine pastures and peaks via part of the Hemma pilgrimage route to St. Lorenzen - Carinthia s highest village with its own church. After visiting St. Anna s church we return to Turracher Höhe by bus. Start: after the sunrise tour Duration: approx. 6 hours Return to starting point: approx. 2.00pm Degree of difficulty: difficult Cost: with Butler Card free of charge/without Butler Card: per person HERBAL HIKE 7 June 25 October 2016 With the herbalists at the Nockberge Biosphere Park In a three-hour hike you will find out everything you need to know about plants and wild herbs, their benefits and curative properties. You can also take the fragrant herbal pouch you make yourself home with you as a souvenir. ALM BUTLER CHILDREN S PROGRAMME 28 June 6 September 2016 Visit Nockys AlmZeit (children aged 5 to 11) On the beautiful high plateau at 2,000 metres, your Alm Butler will take you directly from the top station of the panoramic railway along the AlmZeit path on a journey of discovery with some exciting stops. ALM BUTLER YOUTH PROGRAMME 28 June 6 September 2016 Archery with Turracher Höhe Alm Butler (from age 11) Using a bow and arrow is one of the most popular and intriguing sports these days. Our Alm Butler is well versed in this ancient hunting tool and introduces young participants to using it. After a short walk to the family-friendly Seehotel Jägerwirt the action begins. Archery is a whole lot of fun, it promotes awareness and boosts confidence.

3 GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE GEMSTONE LEGEND MUSEUM 7 June 25 October 2016 Find out about the unique treasures and jewels minerals, crystals, precious stones and fossils from the best-known precious stone mines around the world, the Alps and the Nockberge Biosphere Park. Start: 4.00pm Duration: 1 hour Cost: with Butler Card free of charge WEDNESDAY ALM BUTLER BAREFOOT HIKE 8 June 26 October 2016 Find out how to perceive and feel the natural world under your feet. The weather is irrelevant on this particular hike. Your Alm Butler has a little surprise in store for you here as well. Cost: with Butler Card free of charge/without Butler Card: per person ALM BUTLER CHILDREN S PROGRAMME 29 June 7 September 2016 Hiking around the three lakes (children aged from 5 to 11) You ll complete an easy hike with our Alm Butler and discover lots of secret places where he will play some exciting games with you. At the end there s also a little surprise. ALM BUTLER YOUTH PROGRAMME 29 June 7 September 2016 Alpine pasture golf (from age 11) Golf has been a popular sport for many years. Playing golf on an alpine pasture is slightly different but it s certainly just as much fun. Together with your Alm Butler, after a short hike to the hut, you can swing your clubs and sink the somewhat larger golf ball. THURSDAY NEW: ALM BUTLER EXTENDED HIKE 9 June 20 October 2016 This extended hike takes you across the Kornock and Rinsennock through the picturesque alpine scenery of the Nockberge to the Pregatscharte and further up to the Gregerlnock (2,266 metres). From here we head to the shelter hut at the Stangscharte via the Werchzirbengraben to the Wildbach hut, where we sit down with the Alm Butler and enjoy an excellent Kaiserschmarren (pancake with raisins). 4 GUIDED STONE PINE FOREST TOUR 9 June 20 October 2016 with guides from the Nockberge Biosphere park An interesting discovery tour through the centuries of the distinctive tree of the Nockberge. Experience the unique natural setting while hiking through gnarled steps of tree roots. ALM BUTLER CHILDREN S PROGRAMME 30 June 1 September 2016 Panning for gold incl. a short hike around the lake (children aged 5 to 11) From the Kornockbahn you walk past the Turracher See to the Gemstone Legend Museum, where you can pan for gold and find little gold nuggets as well as pyrites. Any treasure our little gold diggers find they can of course take home with them. ALM BUTLER YOUTH PROGRAMME 30 June 1 September 2016 Hiking through the Nockberge (from age 11) When hiking with the Alm Butler there s not only a whole lot to discover but you can also find out a lot about the fauna and flora of the Turracher Höhe. At the subsequent picnic at the lake and around the campfire you can chat about your impressions and experiences. FRIDAY ALM BUTLER MORNING HIKE WITH BREAKFAST AT THE SUMMIT 10 June 21 October 2016 Standing on the top of a mountain, when the sun bathes the surrounding mountains in a golden shimmering light, every hiker will remember this moment. And if an Alm Butler serves up a mountain breakfast, there s no better way to start your day. 5 SATURDAY ALPINE HIKE TO THE KASER LAKES 11 June 22 October 2016 Experience natural beauty away from the mountains. This very scenic Alm Butler hike takes you to the idyllic Kaser lakes. You ll return via the Vastl hut to the Grünsee and the Turracher Höhe. Start: 9.00am Duration: approx. 5 hours Return to starting point: approx. 2.00pm Degree of difficulty: medium Degrees of difficulty for various programmes Paths easy to walk on Suitable for families and seniors Light walking shoes Easy Mediu Difficult Some narrow paths, need to be fit, good hiking shoes and minimum equipment required Long climbs, narrow paths and steep climbs, very good fitness and condition required, you should be surefooted and not susceptible to vertigo. Mountain/hiking boots and appropriate equipment required Poor weather programme Even if the weather is bad, the Turracher Höhe Alm Butlers provide an exciting alternative programme, which they will arrange at short notice depending on the weather situation. The individual programme items are intended to appeal to guests of all age groups.
