1 Psting Prgress Reprt and Reprt Card Grades, Cmments, and Cnduct When yur gradebk administratr pens the windw fr psting averages t Prgress Reprts r Reprt Cards, a new buttn will appear at the bttm f each class rster n yur gradebk screen. The buttn will say Pst t Prgress Reprt r Pst t Reprt Card as apprpriate. When yu have entered all f yur students grades prir t sending ut prgress reprts r reprt cards, click Pst t Prgress Reprt r Pst t Reprt Card as apprpriate. NOTE: Yu are respnsible fr psting grades fr students listed in the Scheduled Students With Ownership and the Drpped Students With Ownership categries in yur gradebk. Yu will receive an Alert message similar t the ne at the right. Click OK t clse it. Next yu must view and verify the grades yu just psted. Click n the Reprt Card r Prgress Tab at the tp f yur gradebk screen as apprpriate. On this tab yu shuld see yur students grades psted in the apprpriate grading perid clumn. Override a Student s 9-Weeks Average If yu wish t verride a students average, click in the bx with the average and type the average yu want t appear n the reprt card. Click the Save buttn at the bttm f the page t save yur changes. Click OK t clear the alert message which is displayed. TEAMS Attendance and Gradebk Page 32 f 37

2 IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT CLICK THE FINALIZE BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN (YET). D nt click yet!!!! Clicking Finalize at this pint will lck yu ut f entering cnduct, cmments, semester exams, r further updating student averages. The Finalize buttn will be cvered in detail at the end f this sectin. NOTE: Back n yur gradebk tab, the student s riginal average will display even thugh yu verrde it n the reprt card tab. It will display in BOLD RED t indicate that it des nt match the psted reprt card grade. Entering Semester Exam Grades If yu teach a high schl curse r a middle schl curse that awards high schl credit, yu will enter exam grades as dictated by GISD grading plicy at the end f the first semester, secnd semester, r bth. On the Reprt Card tab, exam grades fr the First Semester will be entered in the EX1 clumn. Fr Secnd Semester, enter exam grades in the EX2 clumn. IMPORTANT NOTE: Yu must enter XMP as the grade in the EX1 r EX2 clumn if students d nt have t cmplete a semester exam in a curse. Repsting Grades If yu need t repst all student averages, return t the current grading perid in yur gradebk and click Pst t Reprt Card again. The student averages will be repsted t the Reprt Card r Prgress Reprt tab as apprpriate. NOTE: If yu verrde a grade befre, yu will need t verride it again after repsting. Click the Save buttn at the bttm f the screen t save yur new grade psting. TEAMS Attendance and Gradebk Page 33 f 37

3 Entering Cnduct (Reprt Card Only) Frm the Filter drp-dwn menu, select Shw Cmments Mre clumns will pen up t the right f the clumn where yur student averages psted. The first clumn, CON, is fr Cnduct. Click the first cell in the clumn t make it active. After making the first cell in the Cnduct Clumn active, click the Shw Values buttn at the bttm f the screen. The Cmment Values bx will display. Click nce n a cnduct grade in the Cmment Values bx t assign the cnduct grade t the student. The grade will fill in in the Cnduct Clumn, and the cnduct cell f the next student in the list will autmatically becme active. When yu assign a cnduct grade t the last student in the clumn, click OK t clse the Cmment Values bx. Yu can als assign the same cnduct grade t all students in the class by clicking the cell in the All rw at the tp f the clumn. Yu can either Click Shw Values and click n a cnduct grade t fill the clumn, r yu can type the cnduct grade yu want t fill the clumn. The cnduct grade must be a capital letter. Be sure t click the Save buttn at the bttm f the screen after entering all f yur cnduct grades. TEAMS Attendance and Gradebk Page 34 f 37

4 Entering Cmments (Prgress Reprts and Reprt Cards) Frm the Filter drp-dwn menu, select Shw Cmments The Cmments Clumns will be labeled CM1, CM2, and CM3 n the Reprt Card and Prgress Reprt Tabs. Click the first cell f a Cmment Clumn t make it active. After making the first cell in a Cmment Clumn active, click the Shw Values buttn at the bttm f the screen. The Cmment Values bx will display. Click nce n the cmment in the Cmment Values bx t assign the cmment t a student. The cmment cde will fill in in the Cmment Clumn, and the cmment cell f the next student in the list will autmatically becme active. Yu will be able t enter up t three cmments fr each student. If yu want t mve t the right t put in all cmments fr ne student instead f mving dwn the clumn, yu can click in a cell t activate it, and then click any f the cmments in the Cmment Values bx. Ntice the cmments appear in English and Spanish. They will print n all prgress reprts and reprt cards exactly as listed. When yu are finished recrding cmments fr yur students, click OK t clse the Cmment Values bx. Be sure t click the Save buttn at the bttm f the screen after entering all f yur cmment grades. 5 Calculating Semester and Final Averages (End f Semester and/r End f Year) T see yur students final averages fr the semester (Grades 6-12) r the year (all grade levels), yu can use the Calculate Grade functin. After psting the final 9-weeks grade fr the semester/year and the final exam grade at the secndary level, click in the All cell at the tp f the SM1, SM2, r FIN clumn n the Reprt Card tab. With the All cell activated, click the Calculate Grade buttn at the bttm f the Reprt Card tab. TEAMS will calculate the semester (SM1 r SM2) average r final year average (FIN) as apprpriate. If yu wish t adjust a calculated average, it is best t adjust the cntributing 9-Weeks r Exam grade, then activate the clumn by clicking in the All cell again and clicking the Calculate Grade buttn again. Finalizing Grades Required Final Step Click the ALL Cell t activate the clumn VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT COMPLETE THIS STEP UNTIL YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU ARE FINISHED POSTING AVERAGES, CONDUCT, AND COMMENTS FOR THE CURRENT PROGRESS REPORT OR REPORT CARD. Clicking the Finalize buttn is the equivalent f yur electrnic signature saying I am finished with averages, cnduct, and cmments fr this grading perid, and this is what I want t print n the prgress reprt/reprt card. After yu click Finalize, yu will n lnger be able t make any changes n the Reprt Card r Prgress Reprt tab. If yu must make a change, yu must cntact yur registrar/peims clerk and ask them t manually unlck yur grades. Only the teacher wh wns the gradebk can Finalize grades. Grades can be printed n prgress reprts and reprt cards withut being finalized as lng as they have been psted, but ffice persnnel can run a reprt t see wh did nt take this imprtant final step. When yu are certain yu are finished, Click the Finalize buttn at the bttm f the screen. Dn t click Finalize until yu are sure yur grades are dne! A message cnfirming yu are ready t Finalize yur grades will display. Click Finalize if yu are finished psting grades, cnduct, and cmments. Click Return t Grades if yu are nt truly finished. After yu Finalize yur grades, the Finalize buttn at the bttm f the screen will gray-ut, indicating it is n lnger active. The clumns n the Reprt Card r Prgress tab fr the current grading perid will als gray-ut t indicate that yu can n lnger edit them. Yu can still view the grades, cnduct, and cmments yu have psted. 6 IMPORTANT NOTE: REPEAT THE GRADE/CONDUCT/COMMENT PROCESS FOR ALL CLASSES INDIVIDUALLY. The psting prcess which starts at the tp f page 33 and which yu just cmpleted fr ne class must nw be cmpleted fr each f yur classes. After finalizing the grades fr a class, click Return t Search Results at the bttm f the screen. Ntice in the Finalize clumn classes which have had grades psted and finalized are marked Yes.
