2 25 YEARS Our Agency Francis House, Inc., (FH) a leading nonprofit AIDS Service Organization for twenty five years, bases its operations on the principles and teachings of St. Francis of Assisi, who believed in the power of compassion, individual responsibility and accountability. Our services are designed to teach clients effective skills for making more appropriate life choices while exercising responsibility for their own decisions and actions. Francis House uses a holistic approach to improve clients quality of life by offering comprehensive services, both onsite and in collaboration with other community-based organizations. These services increase housing stability by improving clients ability to live independently. Onsite mechanisms for program delivery include housing and medical case management, mental health and substance abuse counseling, emergency support, nutritional services, transportation assistance, and recreational therapy. Case managers and counselors work hand-in-hand to identify and assist clients who might otherwise fall through the gaps in the community s safety net, with individual and family counseling sessions offered daily and during the evening hours. Our Successes Over the last three years, the number of clients accessing supportive services at Francis House has steadily increased. Since 2012, use of our supportive services has jumped over 20%, a trend that is expected to continue in the current economic climate. In 2014, Francis House had 14,870 visits. More and more clients are dependent on Francis House programs to meet their basic needs of support, nutritional assistance, transportation assistance and housing assistance. Our nutritional programs reinforce the need for proper nourishment to support antiretroviral regimens; in the past 7 years, Francis House has distributed over $128,000 in food and hygiene items and over $25,000 worth of grocery store vouchers to the local HIV/AIDS community. In 2014, Francis House provided over 10,000 meals to Francis House clients. We are, most often, their sole source of food for the household. Francis House has distributed thousands of bus passes to assist clients in being able to maintain their doctors appointments, keeping them active in their primary care. Transportation assistance also enables clients to attend support groups, access additional community resources and achieve a level of independence that would otherwise be difficult. We have also provided over $125,000 in emergency assistance payments for clients struggling to meet their entire rent mortgage and utility payments on limited income. This support has assisted hundreds of clients from becoming homeless and potentially non-adherent to their HIV treatment. We look forward to one day celebrating the end of this epidemic. Until then, Francis House will continue to be the source of hope and support to those clients that walk through our doors.

Today, over 1,000 clients later, we can declare victory for everyone s good. Your investments have made a difference. At the 25 year mark, we can look back and count our successes. The programs launched and sustained; the number of clients in care, the amount of food distributed and the number of meals provided. You are part of history! Stop and take a breath.
