7 SERVEST MARINE The shipping world is a dynamic and exciting industry. No two days are the same and we are constantly pushing the boundaries in many ways... Servest Marine specialises in providing Off Port Limits and Commercial Launch Services backed by a dedicated Marine Transportation operation. These have been expanded with the addition of an Executive Airport Transfer, and Seaman and VIP Meet and Assist services. The Division runs all operations from its head off ce in Cape Town with branches in Durban, Richards Bay, Johannesburg and Mozambique. 9 10

8 24 hours per day, 365 days per year... launch services The need for this service was indicated during the 1960 s during the closure of the Suez Canal. Vessels rounding the Cape and Durban are re-supplied at a rendezvous point off Port Limits avoiding expensive port and light duties as well as delays. The service also assists loaded vessels, which are unable to enter harbours, due to their deep drafts. Our craft are well suited for Offshore services and only on rare occasions will inclement weather prevent offshore operations. A wide range of supplies can be transported: Off cial documents Crew mail and newspaper Fresh fruit and vegetables Ship stores, oil and lubricants Fresh water Relief crews Gas oil Airfreighted ships spares Our craft are well suited for Off Port Limit services and we are able to provide a ffleet of launches of varying sizes and capabilities providing the following services: 11 Towing and salvage for vessels in distress Gas oil and fresh water transfers / pumping Receiving of sludge and the disposal there of Diving tenders for hull cleaning and underwater surveys Contract services on offshore construction and pipelines Launches for logistic supplies to offshore rigs and mining vessels Offshore rendezvous with vessels too large to enter ports to transfer personnel, stores, spares and any other urgent requirements. 12

9 13 crew transfer services This dedicated Marine Service is carried out on behalf of International Ship Owners and supports local Ships Agency companies. The service is provided at the request of Ships Agents and vessels Masters with no cash problems for the crew as services are invoiced directly via the Ships Agent to the ships owners. Escorts to and from the airports and assisting upon arrival and departure including checking in and clearing of all luggage. Collection of flight tickets in advance and liaison with airline off ces in the case of lost and excess luggage. Assisting mariners in transit with Customs formalities and ensuring that all documentation required by the Department of Interior is completed and processed. Assisting mariners to and from doctors and dentists for appointments and emergencies. Transporting mariners to and from offshore launches and helicopters. Assisting with accommodation on arrival and departure at Hotels, Shipping Master, Consul Off ces, Legal Off ces, Ships Agents and Banks. Crew requiring our transport service range from Masters to the lowest ratings also any supernumeraries and superintendents. The benef t of a trained driver becomes essential especially with foreign mariners who do not speak the local languages, nor know their way around our cities. The Department of Immigration place heavy penalties on mariners who go missing thus our door to door transport service is vital to the eff cient handling of vessels visiting and passing the port. Our ffleet of vehicles are late model, modern and well maintained. Each is fully licensed and insured with R100 million passenger liability cover. Each of our vehicles are f tted with f re extinguishers, roadside emergency medical kits and two way radios linked to our Operations Desk. Satellite vehicle tracking records all movements allowing us to maximise control of the vehicles. executive airport transfers This is an extension of our Transfer Service and assists executives transferring between their hotels and the airport. This service is targeted at both international and local business executives, and is available in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. We also customise tours to various tourist attractions. seaman meet and assist This inland branch specialises in meeting and assisting foreign mariners who are arriving from abroad and transitting through Johannesburg to make connecting domestic fflights to their vessels. Our off ces are well located at OR Tambo International Airport s terminal and our staff are able to assist with all transit problems such as immigration, customs, visa clearances and lost luggage enquiries. Services can also be booked at our Cape Town and Durban Operation Desks. Our crew representatives are able to meet and assist mariners with connecting fflights as well as advise local agents of arrivals and delays with joining crews. Our insight and experience allows us to assist with immigration, customs and visa clearance. We also provide transport to Consular off ces in Pretoria. We provide a luxury air conditioned VW Microbus for convenient airport transfers as well as transport to overnight accommodation. We have increased our ffleet to include Toyota Corollas for normal airport transfers. 14
