7 What is elearning? Maseno University Senate approved guidelines define elearning as all teaching and learning that will be conducted through the University Learning Management System (LMS) which shall be fully online or blended.! Annual Heads of Member Institutions Forum 7

8 Blended elearning A combination of conventional face-toface learning experiences in which learners attend physical lectures, with other technology-based learning experiences, most predominantly asynchronous online experiences. Annual Heads of Member Institutions Forum 8

Constructivism: A theory of learning based on the idea that knowledge is constructed by the learner based on some mental activity Learners are considered as active organisms seeking meaning By independently reflecting on their own experiences, learners construct their own understanding of the world 9
