2 Introduction Welcome to peace of mind Car Rental Insurance. The information in this policy wording contains important information and we have made it as easy as possible to understand. Please take time to read through it and contact us if you need any additional information. The purchase of this policy is a non-advised sale, that is to say that you have not received any advice or a recommendation from us and the final decision to purchase is yours. Demands and Needs: This product meets the demands and needs of those clients who have purchased this policy and rent a vehicle in the territories as defined herein up to 31 days(annual policies) for any one rental agreement or 180 days (daily policies). Further details of the benefits are as outlined below. This statement does not form part of your policy. You have not received any personal recommendations from AXA Insurance Limited. Who is this insurance intended for This insurance is designed for any person eligible to purchase this insurance renting a car where there is a financial liability under the terms and conditions of the car rental agreement. What you are covered for This Section covers You for any physical loss or damage to the Rental Vehicle for which you are responsible for under the terms of the Car Rental Agreement,(including damage to windscreens, tyres and the under body), fire, theft, vandalism as well as loss of use of the Rental Vehicle. Sum Insured The sum insured is the excess shown in the car rental agreement up to 3,500 any single incident or 5,000 for a series of incidents during any single car rental agreement. Geographical Area Cover for rentals in Europe or Worldwide providing the appropriate premium has been paid, including rentals made in usual country of residence. Insurer This Policy is underwritten by AXA Insurance Limited and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. 50% Reinsured to Inter Partner Assistance S.A. (IPA). IPA is a wholly owned subsidiary of AXA Assistance SA and part of the worldwide AXA Group. AXA Insurance Ltd Wolfe Tone House Wolfe Tone Street Republic of Ireland Who is eligible to purchase car hire insurance? Any person: - 1. Aged between 21 and 74, OR 84 if appropriate premium has been paid. 2. Holding a valid or internationally recognised driving licence 3. Eligible to rent and drive the vehicle and able to adhere to the terms of the car hire agreement 4. Named on the car rental agreement What makes up this policy? This policy and the car rental agreement form your insurance contract. Cooling Off Period We will refund in full your premium, if, within 14 days of purchasing this insurance you decide that it does not meet your needs providing that you have not commenced your trip, reported or are intending to report a claim. Once the 14 days has expired you have no right to cancel this insurance. Cancelling this Policy Notwithstanding the provision to cancel this policy under the Cooling Off provisions this policy may also be cancelled if the car rental agreement to which this policy is attached is also cancelled. Jurisdiction and law This insurance shall be governed by the laws of The Republic of Ireland, whose courts alone shall have jurisdiction in any dispute arising from this insurance. Claims Notification If You have access to the internet visit Our claims website: where You will be able to register Your claim, enter all the necessary details and upload the documents Page 2

3 that will be specified to You. Our internet solution is the quickest and easiest way to submit Your claim to Us. You will be asked for a Claim Scheme Code which are as follows: - Resident in Ireland: Resident in Northern Ireland: If You do not have access to the internet please call ClaimEz on +44 (0) to notify Us of Your claim. Some initial details will be taken and You will then be sent a claim form by post to complete and return to Us along with supporting documentation that will specified to You. When calling Us, please have Your policy number to hand. Once received please fully complete, sign and date the claim form and return it with all supporting documentation; Copy of Your certificate of insurance. Copy of Your rental contract. A copy of the Law Enforcement/Police report (if applicable) for Damage/Loss. Renter's copy of the vehicle rental company accident damage report. Invoices/receipts/other documents confirming the amount you have paid in respect of accident/damage/loss etc for which the vehicle rental company holds you responsible. Copy of your credit card statement showing payment of the damages claimed. Copy of the driving licence of the person involved in the accident (the driver). Bank account details for payment. Please note that a postal claim may take significantly longer to settle than an online claim; especially if We need to write to You to request additional information. Failure to provide this information may result in Your claim being delayed. If a claim is made or suit is brought against the named insured, the named insured shall immediately forward to the company every demand, notice, summons or other process received by him/her or his/her representative. Definitions Car Rental Company means a company licensed in the territory in which it is situated to provide vehicles for rental. "Car Rental Agreement" means the contract signed by you that states the financial responsibility to which the lead named driver is responsible. "Rental Vehicle" means any automobile rented from a fully licensed Car Rental Company on a daily or weekly basis. You, your means the person(s) named on the car rental agreement and included on the certificate of insurance as named drivers and which attaches to this policy. The policyholder is the lead person named on the car rental agreement. We, us, our means AXA Insurance Ltd, Ireland. Europe means all countries west of the Ural Mountains, British Isles, Ireland, Islands in the Mediterranean, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Canary Islands, Madeira, Iceland and the Azores. Worldwide has no territorial limitation. General conditions in addition to those shown elsewhere in this policy 1. It is a condition of this insurance that you comply with this policy. 2. All certificates, information and evidence required (in support of your claim) by the claims office shall be paid at your expense. 3. Except with our written consent, you or your representative(s) are not entitled to admit liability on our behalf or to give any representations or other undertakings binding upon us. We shall be entitled to the absolute conduct, control and settlement of all proceedings arising out of or in connection with claims in your name. 4. We may at our own expense take proceedings in your name to recover compensation from any third party in respect of any indemnity provided under this Insurance and any amounts recovered shall belong to us. You agree to render all reasonable assistance to us to recover such amounts. 5. No car rental agreement longer than then 31 days for Annual Policies and 180 days for Daily policies. 6. This insurance is provided for one rental vehicle at any one time, which may be driven and operated by you. Cover will take effect from the time you take legal control of the rental vehicle and will cease at the time the car rental company assumes control of the rental vehicle whether at its business location or elsewhere. 4 7. This policy must have been purchased prior to the commencement of a car rental agreement for which you wish this policy to be operative. General exclusions that apply to the whole policy 1. Insured Persons who have not paid in full the appropriate or additional premium. 2. Alcoholism or the use of alcohol or drugs (other than drugs taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a registered medical practitioner, but not for the treatment of drug addiction). 3. Loss or damage directly or indirectly occasioned by happening through or in consequence of war, terrorism, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation or nationalisation or requisition or destruction of or damage to property by or under the order of any government or public or local authority. 4. Where there is dual insurance, please let us know so that we then will pay our proportion of your claim. 5. Claims or incidents that may give rise to a claim not notified directly in writing to the Claims Office within 31 days of the expiry of the Insurance. 6. Any fraudulent, dishonest or criminal act committed by the Insured Person(s) or with who he / she is in collusion, or insurance effected in circumstances where a claim might reasonably be anticipated. 7. Loss arising from operation of the vehicle in violation of the terms of the Rental Agreement. 8. Expenses assumed, waived or paid by the Rental Agency or its Insurers. 9. Automobiles, or other vehicles, which are not Rental Vehicles. 10. Wear and tear. 11. Losses arising from mechanical breakdown and miss fuelling 12. Losses arising out of illegal activities. 13. Driving by persons who are not named on the Rental Agreement. 14. The rental of any vehicle which at its first date of registration is more than 20yrs old. Any vehicle with a Retail Purchase Price in excess of US$ 80, The rental of certain vehicles, namely: motor homes, trailers or caravans, trucks, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds, motorbikes, off-road vehicles, recreational vehicles, vans and vehicles with more than 9 seats. 16. Expenses reimbursed by the Insured Person's Employers' Insurer. 17. No coverage provided for those aged less than 21 years and over 74 OR 84 years of age,if appropriate premium has been paid. 18. Losses occurring from driving whilst not on a public highway. 19. Losses occurring from driving vehicles on safaris and / or adventure trails. 20. Coverage must coincide with the rental agreement; coverage will be voided if the coverage either for the insurance policy or the rental agreement does not coincide. No policy can be issued retroactively. Complaints Procedure We do everything possible to make sure that you receive a high standard of service. If you are not satisfied with the service that you receive, please contact in the first instance, your agent or the Issuing Agent with whom the policy was taken out, if you remain dissatisfied then you should address your enquiry/complaint to: - The Customer Services Manager AXA Insurance Ltd Customer Care Freepost Ireland Please provide full details of your policy and in particular your policy number to help your enquiry to be dealt with speedily. 5 The insurer your contract is with is AXA Insurance Limited which is established in Ireland. Both you and we can choose the law within the European Union which will apply to the contract. We propose that Irish law will apply. The cover you have bought has many benefits to give you peace of mind.
