2 University of Tulsa Hardesty Hall, Tulsa, OK Hardesty Hall was designed as a multi-function building that blends living, learning and student services in a single complex. The building is organized by two three-story wings that are connected at the third level. The north residential wing accommodates 308 beds in fourperson suites with a shared bathroom. Each floor includes a study room and lounge. The first floor of the south wing includes eight classrooms, a computer lab, campus orientation offices and the Multicultural Center. The upper floors house faculty offices, conference, career services, the Department of Global Education, dean and associate deans of student services and student offices.

3 Berea College Deep Green Residence Hall, Berea, KY "Deep Green" provides 121 new beds while responding to student survey requests for flexible living environments with shared community resources. On an instructive level, the facility is designed to expose students to a new and innovative living experience. The LEED Platinum facility includes: geothermal heat pump, operable windows, ceiling fans, a 40kW photovoltaic array on the roof, furniture and casing constructed by Berea students using wood sourced directly from the 8,000 acre FSC Certified Berea College Forest. Fine Art majors assisted with the development of color schemes and art program by integrating student works.

4 Berea College Anna Smith Residence Hall Renovation, Berea, KY After completing the Deep Green Residence Hall, Berea College retained Hastings+Chivetta to complete a renovation of the nearby 90-bed Anna Smith Residence Hall. The three-story residence hall was fully renovated, including residence rooms, lounge areas, study rooms, bathrooms and laundry rooms. The renovation incorporates many sustainable design elements and earned LEED Gold certification. Sustainable elements include a Building Dashboard energy monitoring system, energy-efficient lighting and a geothermal heat pump system with fan coil units. Water-efficient landscaping is incorporated, along with reductions in water use throughout the building

5 John Brown University J. Alvin Residence Hall Renovation, Siloam Springs, AR The phased renovation of J. Alvin Hall transformed one of the campus' most popular residences into a modern and architecturally cohesive structure. Originally designed as two freestanding hotels, Hastings+Chivetta Architects re-faced the interior facades, removing all existing partitions and redefined existing space to obscure the motel appearance and provide a better community living environment. All 208 residential units are designed so that each suite has a common lounge and larger community bathroom with individual shower stalls. A complete renovation of the atrium common area enhances the multipurpose nature of this space.

6 Saint Louis University Spring Residence Hall, St. Louis, MO The new Spring residence hall is the result of a detailed study that found that new and updated housing on SLU s campus is needed to stay competitive with other national universities. The first floor single-story area of the building is comprised of classrooms, a resident apartment, a chapel, building laundry and a lounge. The remainder tower portion is identical on each floor, and includes 16 double suites, 26 single suites and two single ADA suites on each floor. At the end of each wing of each floor is a quiet study room and student lounge with oversized tinted windows. Adjacent to these common areas are the elevators.

7 Saint Louis University New Residence and Dining Hall, St. Louis, MO The second of two new residence halls designed by Hastings+Chivetta Architects on the campus of St. Louis University, this new facility will include 528 beds in single and double suite-style rooms. In addition to student housing, the building also will include a 740-seat campus dining hall, classrooms, study lounges and an outdoor plaza. Located in the heart of campus, the building is designed for first- and second-year students. It will be connected to the largest residential facility on campus and adjacent to the recreation center. 8 Centre College A. Eugene Brockman Residential Commons, Danville, KY Designed for upper-level students, Brockman Commons consists of five free-standing structures that gracefully wrap a landscaped courtyard to form a new campus quad. Each townhouse is designed at residential scale with different entries, shutter colors and other details that establish identity and wayfinding. Townhouse units have two bedrooms on the upper level, a bedroom and shared living room with small kitchenette on the lower level. The centerpiece of the new residential community is the one-story Commons Building which houses community lounge. Shared amenities include a full-service kitchen and large laundry.

9 Centre College Pearl Hall, Danville, KY The first LEED Gold Certified building in Kentucky, Pearl Hall provides living quarters for 146 juniors and seniors to give them more freedom and a transitional experience between traditional campus housing and living on their own after graduation. Most suites have four single bedrooms, two bathrooms and a common area with a convenience kitchen. Each floor has a large community kitchen. Laundry facilities are on the lower level. Socializing and study spaces are throughout the hall, including a lounge on the main level for large gatherings and a group study room on the lower level.
