1 Jboss Developer Studio Installation By : Shivam Dubey Brief Description : This document will help you to install the Jboss Developer Studio through terminal and will also guide that how you can configure the developer studio with Fuse Esb Server. Prerequisite : Installation of Apache Maven(3.0.5 or above). Configuration of Apache Maven. Installation of Java (here I am using Java-7) Configuration of Java. 1. Download this jar file : jbdevstudio-product-eap-universal gav b688.jar from 2. Copy this jar file and place it in a particular folder for example : FuleEsb. 3. Now open the terminal and go to the path where you have saved the jar file as shown below: 1

2 4. Now execute the installer command over there, in my case : java -jar jbdevstudio-product-eap-universal-hk7.1.1.ga-v b688.jar 5. On executing the command below shown pop-up will appear. 2

3 6. When you click on OK it will ask you for the installation path as shown below : 3

6 7. On clicking the next button, it will ask you for the JVM. 6

7 8. On clicking the next button, it will ask you to install the JBoss Developer Studio which contains Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. 7

8 9. Then it will show the step-by-step installation progress. 8

10 10. Then it will ask you, whether you want to create a shortcut and if you want then for whom you want to create it, for all users or for current users. 10

11 11. Then it will show an installation success message. 11

12 12. After that it will ask you for the workspace. 12

13 13. The following screen will appear after that. 13

14 14. At last after successful installation the following window will be shown : 14

15 15. Now to create a Fuse project, first you need to install the addons as shown below: 16. On pressing the install button following screen will appear : 15

16 17. Click on the next button. 16

17 18. On pressing the finish button, the selected addons will be downloaded and then you will be able to create the fuse project. 19. To create a fuse project click on File then on New then select the fuse project and if you are not able to find fuse project in New then click on Other and type Fuse project the following window will appear: 17

18 20. Click on the next button, here you need to select the workspace and then click on next. 18

19 21. Now you need to select the archetype of the project which you are creating and in the Artifact Id write the name of your project, whatever you type in your project name accordingly the package is created. 22. On pressing the finish button your project will be created. 19

20 Configuring Fuse ESB Server with JBoss Developer Studio 1. Click on the File and then on New and select Other, the following window will appear: 20

21 2. Here type server then following screen will be shown: 21

22 3. Now click on next button, the window containing the options of server will be shown, you have to select the server from here. 22

23 4. On clicking the next button you will be asked to provide the path of installation directory, i.e you need to provide the path where you have extracted your server by clicking on the browse button. 23

24 5. On clicking the next button you need to provide port number on which you need to run the server, username and password. 24

25 6. On clicking the finish button your server will be configured to the developer studio, to open the server, open the console from there click on server you will be shown that the server is stopped. 7. Now to start the server click on the green button as shown below : 25

26 8. On clicking the start button you will be asked for the permissions so click on yes and at the end you can see that the server is started in the console. 26
