Eastbound bridge closed for construction through spring Traffic both directions will use westbound bridge and median crossovers between mile markers 53.3 and Workzone speed limit 55 mph. Estimated completion late Interstate 64 Augusta, Nelson, Albemarle counties: Installing communications conduit in median for active traffic-management system on Afton Mountain. Periodic left-shoulder closures, both directions, between mile markers 94 and 107. Estimated completion January U.S. 340/U.S. 522 Front Royal/Warren County: Replacing bridge over South Fork Shenandoah River. New six-lane structure on North Shenandoah Avenue will accommodate bicycles and pedestrians. Also improving intersection at Route 55 to reduce congestion. Periodic lane closures and traffic-pattern changes. Estimated completion December U.S. 522 Rappahannock County: Rehabilitating bridge on Zachary Taylor Highway over Wilson Branch. Adding third southbound lane on U.S. 29 between Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) and U.S. 29/250 interchange. Lane closures, traffic shifts. Scheduled completion May Route 3 Culpeper County: Widening Germanna Highway to four lanes between Stevensburg and Lignum. Intermittent lane closures, traffic pattern changes while relocating utilities and reconstructing the new roadway. Work-zone speed limit 45 mph. Estimated completion May Route 6 Fluvanna County: Replacing East River Road bridge over Rivanna River. Temporary signals controlling single-lane traffic. Estimated completion Route 229 Culpeper County: Widening North Main Street to five lanes between Fairview Road and northern Culpeper town limit. Lane closures, traffic shifts. Estimated completion August Route 784 Culpeper County: Constructing new connector road between U.S. 522 (Sperryville Pike) and Route 729 (Eggbornsville Road). Intermittent lane closures. Estimated completion late Queen Street Strasburg: Replacing bridge, improving roadway and sidewalk. Construction expected to begin spring Portion of road closed during construction. 2 NORTHERN REGION Interstate 66 Prince William County: Widening I-66 to three regular lanes and one high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane, each direction, for about 3 miles between U.S. 15 at Haymarket and U.S. 29 at Gainesville. When complete, drivers will have three regular lanes and one HOV lane, each direction, for 25 miles between U.S. 15 and Interstate 495. Off-peak lane closures. Estimated completion August Interstate 66 Prince William County: Constructing diverging-diamond interchange on U.S. 15 at I-66 to relieve congestion, accommodate expected traffic demand and enhance safety. The project will include two longer bridges to carry U.S. 15 over I-66 with two crossover intersections. Weekday off-peak closures on U.S.15. Spring nighttime closures for bridge demolition. Estimated completion fall Interstate 395 Alexandria: Constructing reversible high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) and transit ramp at Seminary Road. Lane closures: northbound right lane, daytime off-peak hours; temporary lane closures. Seminary Road bridge, one lane each direction. HOV ramp completion January Estimated project completion spring Route 27 Arlington County: Rehabilitating Route 27 (Washington Boulevard) bridge over Route 110 (Jefferson Davis Highway), adjacent to Pentagon. Project will maintain at least two open lanes, each direction, on both roads, except for temporary night closures to install bridge girders. Pedestrian traffic shifts to temporary bridge in Estimated completion May Route 286 Fairfax County: Upgrading loop ramp from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) to Route 289 (Franconia-Springfield Parkway). Widening inner loop ramp for traffic from Route 638 (Rolling Road) to Fairfax County Parkway to create dual-lane ramp. Other intersection improvements include: rehabilitating bridge; constructing retaining walls; and adding new shoulders. Temporary weekend lane closures. Estimated completion May Route 606 Loudoun County: Reconstructing and widening Old Ox Road to four lanes between Route 621 (Evergreen Mills Road) and Route 267 (Dulles Greenway), about 5 miles. Most weekday work 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Nighttime single-lane traffic with flagging. Estimated completion fall Route 1036 Loudoun County: Constructing new segment of Pacific Boulevard, from just east of Richfield Way to just north of Nokes Boulevard. Project also will widen Pacific Boulevard from two to four lanes between Severn Way and Nokes Boulevard. Periodic traffic shifts, daytime lane closures. Estimated completion September Route 2150 Loudoun County: Extending Gloucester Parkway from Route 607 (Loudoun County Parkway) to intersection of Route 1036 (Pacific Boulevard) and Nokes Boulevard. Project includes new bridge over Broad Run, intersection upgrades at Loudoun County Parkway and Pacific Boulevard, new traffic signals and trail and sidewalk improvements. 3 SOUTHWEST REGION Interstate 81 Botetourt County: Improving exit 150 interchange. Nighttime lane, daytime shoulder closures possible on U.S. 220 Alternate and U.S. 11, Sunday- Thursday, 10 p.m.-6 a.m. Estimated completion fall Interstate 81 Pulaski County: Repairing bridges over New River Trail State Park, mile marker 94.6, and over Route 99, mile marker Periodic overnight lane closures, both directions, Sunday-Thursday. Some extended lane closures, both directions, Monday-Thursday, 6 p.m.-10 a.m. Estimated completion in spring U.S. 460 Buchanan County: Replacing westbound Coke Oven Bridge at intersection of Route 638 (Dismal River Road). Estimated completion August U.S. 501 Amherst-Bedford county line: Replacing bridge at Route 130 intersection over James River. Estimated completion March Route 91 Washington County: Replacing bridge over railroad in Glade Spring area. Estimated completion Interstate 81 Washington County: Reconstructing exit 14 interchange. Replacing interstate bridges over Route 647 (Old Jonesboro Road). Estimated completion spring Interstate 581 Roanoke: Constructing divergingdiamond interchange at exit 3C (Valley View Boulevard). Lane closures, Monday-Saturday, 10 p.m.-6 a.m. I-581 may be reduced to two lanes, each direction, for about two miles. Nighttime rolling roadblocks possible. Valley View Boulevard may have periodic lane closures, traffic pattern changes, both directions. Estimated completion fall U.S. 11 Smyth County: Replacing bridge over railroad, approximately 2.5 miles east of Chilhowie. Estimate completion spring Route 603 Montgomery County: Reconstructing two miles of North Fork Road to improve connection between U.S. 11/460 and Interstate 81 at exit 128 (Ironto). Route 603 closed to traffic until January Detour in place. Drivers can use exit 132 on I-81 to reach U.S. 11/460. Expected final completion Route 650 Henry County: Improving Irisburg Road for motorist safety. Traffic reduced to one lane during construction. Expected completion July Greenview Drive Lynchburg: Widening road. Estimated completion July U.S. 29/U.S. 460 Lynchburg: Constructing new interchange at Odd Fellows Road. Also extending road across four-lane highway. Estimated completion August U.S. 58 Carroll, Floyd, Patrick counties: Widening 8.2 miles of U.S. 58 between Big Reed Island Creek in Carroll County and end of current four-lane section in Patrick County, west of Blue Ridge Parkway. 4 CENTRAL REGION Interstate 64 Richmond: Rehabilitating I-64 bridge over Interstate 195 between mile marker 186 and 187 near Bryan Park, just west of Interstate 95. Estimated completion winter Interstate 64 Henrico County: Replacing bridge over Route 33 (Nine Mile Road), east of exit 197A-B. Estimated completion winter Interstate 64 New Kent County: Paving, eastbound, mile marker 204 to 224. Various lane closures, mostly overnight. Estimated completion Interstate 85 Mecklenburg, Brunswick and Dinwiddie counties: Paving. Various lane closures, mostly overnight. Northbound, mile marker 7 to 61 Southbound, mile marker 61 to 9 Estimated completion Interstate 95 Fredericksburg: Replacing Fall Hill Avenue bridge over I-95 at mile marker 131. Intermittent lane closures, brief delays, both directions, mainly overnight. Estimated completion January U.S. 360 Henrico County: Replacing deck on Mechanicsville Turnpike bridge over Interstate 64 at exit 192. Ramp from U.S. 360 east to I-64 west closed. Detour: I-64 east to exit 193B/Route 33 (Nine Mile Road) east back to I-64 west. Estimated completion June Route 54/U.S. 1 Ashland/Hanover County: Improving intersection at England Street and North Washington Highway. Adding turn and through lanes plus pedestrian accommodations. Estimated completion Route 144 Colonial Heights: Improving interchange at Interstate 95. Replacing signalized intersection with roundabout. Alternating lane closures on Temple Avenue. Estimated completion November Route 205 Westmoreland County: Replacing bridge on James Monroe Highway over Mattox Creek. Temporary signals directing single traffic lane on bridge. Estimated completion July Interstate 95 Hanover County: Replacing Route 802 (Lewistown Road) bridge over I-95 at exit 89. Various lane closures. Estimated completion spring U.S. 17 Stafford County: Widening road to six lanes for 2 miles, between 0.2 miles north of Stafford Lakes Parkway and McLane Drive. Lane closures, brief delays. Adding continuous right-turn lane and dual left-turn lanes along corridor. Estimated completion December

5 EASTERN REGION Interstate 64 Newport News: Widening I-64 to six lanes between exit 247 (Yorktown Road) and exit 255 (Jefferson Avenue). Weeknight single-lane closures. Estimated completion December Interstate 95 Greensville County: Replacing two bridges over Meherrin River in Emporia, south of exit 11 interchange. Nightly single-lane closures, traffic shifts possible. Two lanes will remain open during peak travel hours. Estimated completion fall U.S. 58 Portsmouth: Extending Martin Luther King Freeway to connect road with Interstate 264. Estimated completion late U.S. 301 Greensville County: Replacing southbound Sussex Drive bridge over rail tracks north of Emporia. Southbound traffic detoured to Interstate 95; northbound traffic unaffected. Estimated completion summer Interstate 264, Downtown Tunnel Norfolk, Portsmouth: Rehabilitating tunnel eastbound. Singlelane or full weeknight closures, plus intermittent full weekend closures. Alternate routes: Interstate 64, High-Rise Bridge; U.S. 13, Gilmerton Bridge; or Route 337, South Norfolk Jordan Bridge (toll). Closures exclude holiday weekends. Estimated completion spring Interstate 564 Norfolk: Constructing intermodal connector from existing I-564 to Norfolk International Terminals and Norfolk Naval Station to improve traffic flow. Estimated completion summer Interstate 664/Interstate 64 Hampton: Rehabilitating bulkhead at bridge on northbound I-664 flyover ramp to westbound I-64. Traffic reduced to one lane on ramp. Estimated completion April U.S. 17 York County: Widening George Washington Memorial Highway between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Traffic shifts, weeknight single-lane closures, 7 p.m.-5 a.m. Estimated completion winter U.S. 58, Midtown Tunnel Norfolk, Portsmouth: Constructing new tunnel tube in Elizabeth River.
