1 THE HOLY LAND TOUR 2015 HOLY LAND TOUR 2015 Tour Leader: Pastor Ray Matheson Host: Pastor Carey Thiessen Tour Guide: Dr. Yossi Paz TOUR ITINERARY June 8 19, 2015, Led by Pastor Ray Matheson JUNE 8 (MONDAY): CALGARY TEL-AVIV Depart Calgary for Tel-Aviv as we embark on a memorable trip to visit the land where our Messiah was born. JUNE 9 (TUESDAY): ARRIVE IN TEL-AVIV After arriving in Israel, we will be met by our guide, Dr. Yossi Paz. On route to the hotel, Renaissance Hotel Tel-Aviv ( enjoy a panoramic tour of Tel-Aviv and Jaffa.

2 TOUR ITINERARY Led by Pastor Ray Matheson June 8-19, 2015 JUNE 10 (WEDNESDAY): TEL-AVIV TIBERIAS Drive along the Coastal Road to Caesarea (Acts 9 and 25), where Cornelius, the first Gentile, converted and where Paul testified before Agrippa (Acts 21:8). At Mount Carmel, (1 Kgs.18) walk up to the monastery roof built on the site where the Prophet Elijah proved to Prophets of Baal who the only true God is, then continue to Haifa and from Mount Carmel to have a wonderful view of the area. Proceed to Mukhraka and to Megiddo overlooking the Jezreel Valley which is considered the Armageddon of the New Testament. Proceed to our hotel in Tiberias, Leonardo Plaza Tiberias ( JUNE 11 (THURSDAY): TIBERIAS Visit Cana of Galilee, location of the first miracle and visit the Church of the Wedding. Onto Nazareth to visit the Basilica of the Annunciation: the Holy Grotto, the ancient village of Nazareth in the time of Christ, the archeological museum, Saint Joseph s workshop and the ancient Jewish-Christian purifying bath. Afterwards we visit Nazareth Village. This is an excavated village dating from around 1 AD. The excavations have carefully renovated the synagogue and houses to give a unique insight into village life and agriculture, as it would have been at the time of Jesus. Visit the Jordan River for the traditional baptism site of Jesus. We then visit Tabgha, where Jesus fed the multitudes with five loaves and two fish. Return to your hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

3 TOUR ITINERARY Led by Pastor Ray Matheson June 8-19, 2015 JUNE 12 (FRIDAY): TIBERIAS This morning we will start at the Mount of Beatitudes (Matt. 5-7) where Jesus uttered the immortal words of the beatitudes as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew. After visiting the Rotonda of Beatitudes, we will take an easy walk down a Galilee hill to Saint Peter s Primacy Church (John 21) located on the Sea of Galilee. We will enjoy Saint Peter's Fish at a local restaurant. Our day around the lake, which looks the same as it did 2000 years ago, will take us to Capernaum (Matt. 4:13), the home of Jesus and Peter. The archeological remains will enable us to imagine the events of Jesus' teaching in the Capernaum Synagogue, where He healed Peter's mother-in-law and many others. We will board a boat for a cruise on the Sea of Galilee, during which you can enjoy an experience of seeing where Jesus walked on water. Drive through the Golan Heights, and visit Caesarea Philippi, the place where Peter confessed that Jesus was the Messiah. Drive back though the Golan Heights to our hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight. JUNE 13 (SATURDAY): TIBERIAS DEAD SEA Head south stopping to visit Bet Shean, one of the cities of the Decapolis. Drive down through the Jordan Valley to the hotel, Herods Dead Sea Hotel ( enjoy your time in leisure. Dinner and overnight in Dead Sea. JUNE 14 (SUNDAY): DEAD SEA Enjoy a free day to relax or take a dip in the Dead Sea. No visit to the Dead Sea would be complete without experiencing the unique buoyancy of these waters. Cover yourself in therapeutic black mud and float your aches and pains away!

4 TOUR ITINERARY Led by Pastor Ray Matheson June 8-19, 2015 JUNE 15 (MONDAY): DEAD SEA - JERUSALEM We will visit Masada, one of the ancient homes of Herod the Great. We will take a thrilling cable car up to the awe-inspiring fortress. After our descent we will drive to the nature reserve at En Gedi. It was here that David cut the end of Saul's robe. Arrive in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem ( hotels/jerusalem-hotels/plaza-hotel-jerusalem) JUNE 16 (TUESDAY): JERUSALEM Begin the morning with a visit of the City of David, site of King David's palace and the pool of Silam (John 9:1-7). Enter the Dung Gate to visit the Wailing Wall and the temple area with the Al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock. Visit the Davidson center, where you enter the world of this city's glorious past, showcased through the prism of advanced visualization technology. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. JUNE 17 (WEDNESDAY): JERUSALEM Visit Saint Anne s Crusader Church, see the pool of Bethseda, the Ecce Homo Archa and the Via Dolorosa, with its stations of the Cross from the Pretorium to the Holy Sepulcher. Visit the Unizer Hospice, the Lutheran Hospice located on the traditional place where Jesus spoke to the daughters of Jerusalem (Luke 23, 28), the Ethiopian Monastic Village, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Roman Cistern, Calvary, Tomb of Joseph of Aramethea. Leave the city through the bazaars to the west by Jaffa Gate. Continue to the Garden Tomb, visit the empty tomb and tour the garden.

5 TOUR ITINERARY Led by Pastor Ray Matheson June 8-19, 2015 JUNE 18 (THURSDAY): JERUSALEM Drive to the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. See the Place of Ascension and the Pater Noster Church, and view the Palm Sunday road. At the foot of the hill see the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees and the Church of All Nations. Drive down the Kidron Valley and see the Pool of Siloam and the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu which is built over the palace of the High Priest Caiaphas. On Mount Zion visit the Upper Room and the Church of the Dormition. Continue south to Bethlehem and see the Church of the Nativity and below it the cave-stable of Jesus' birth. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. JUNE 19 (FRIDAY): JERUSALEM - CALGARY Transfer to airport for flights home. Optional Extended Tour: Jordan Extension June 19 23, 2015 JUNE 19 (FRIDAY): ISRAEL - AMMAN Morning pick up from Allenby bridge. Depart towards the Christian Town of Madaba, "The City of Mosaics". Visit the St. George church with its mosaic map of the Holy Land from Byzantine times, and the Archeological Park, which houses the remains of several Byzantine churches, including the amazing mosaics of the Church of the Virgin. The park complex includes a school for the restoration and conservation of ancient mosaics. Take a detour to Mount Nebo to see the endearing monastery and the view. Continue to visit the church complex at Al-Mukhayyat and depart to Amman. Overnight at Intercontinental Amman (

6 TOUR ITINERARY: Jordan Extension Led by Pastor Ray Matheson June 19-23, 2015 JUNE 20 (SATURDAY): AMMAN WADI RUM - PETRA Morning departure to visit the ruins of the Amman Roman theatre, the Citadel and the Umayyad Palace. The tour includes visits to the Archeological and Folklore Museum and the newly opened Jordan Museum. Proceed south to Wadi Rum, Jordan's largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world. Enjoy a 4x4 Jeep tour inside the Wadi until sunset. Watch the view while drinking a cup of traditional Bedouin tea and then depart to Petra. Overnight at Moevenpick Resort Petra ( gclid=clbi35hvxcacfqgvfgodktwa_w) JUNE 21 (SUNDAY): PETRA Full day to visit the ancient Nabatean Capital starts on horseback (optional), followed by a walk through the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs. The tour then proceeds to gradually unfold the mysteries of the Red Rose City. JUNE 22 (MONDAY): PETRA BETHANY BEYOND JORDAN - AMMAN Depart Petra via the King's highway or Araba road, and take time to visit Lot's Cave. Continue to the baptism site where John lived and performed baptisms. Return to Amman. Overnight at Intercontinental Amman. JUNE 23 (TUESDAY): AMMAN - CALGARY Morning transfer to airport for flights home.
