2 DoD SkillBridge Service Member Instructions Overview Sign Up Login Search Basic Search Advanced Search Inquire about or Apply for a Training Opportunity My Profile My Favorites Logout Overview Thank you for joining the DoD SkillBridge community! The Instructions below will help you create a DoD SkillBridge account, search for training opportunities, setup and manage your profile and get notifications when opportunities relevant to you are added to the system. Sign Up Although many DoD SkillBridge features can be used without logging in, we recommending signing up for DoD SkillBridge using your Twitter account. To sign up for DoD SkillBridge: 1. Open a browser (ex. Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and navigate to the DoD SkillBridge Web App Home Page: 2. If this is your first visit to the Web App, you ll need to click Close to exit out of the DoD SkillBridge welcome message. 3. Click the Sign Up > button in the main banner. 4. Click the Sign Up > button under Sign Up As a Service Member. 5. You will be redirect to a Twitter login page. Enter in your Twitter credentials and click Authorize app. Don t have Twitter? 3 Login After signing up, you can login to DoD SkillBridge to access your favorites, your training opportunity matches and your profile. If you haven t already signed up, see the instructions here. To login: 1. Open a browser (ex. Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and navigate to the DoD SkillBridge Web App Home Page: 2. Click on Login in the top right hand corner. 3. You will be redirected to a Twitter login page. Enter your Twitter credentials and click Authorize app. You will be redirected back to the DoD SkillBridge Web App Home Page and logged in to the Web App. Search There are two (2) different ways to search for training opportunities in the DoD SkillBridge Web App: Basic and Advanced Search. Basic Search To search for training opportunities based on a keyword or phrase: 1. Go to the SkillBridge Web App Home Page by clicking the Home menu item or by navigating to 2. Type in your keywords or phrase where it says Search for Training Opportunities and click the button to the right of the search area (magnifying glass icon) or hit Enter on your keyboard. 3. A list of training opportunities will be presented that match your search criteria. Click on the opportunity title to view details about the opportunity and to inquire about additional details. Advanced Search To search for training opportunities based on advanced criteria: 1. Click on the Advanced Search button under the search text box on the DoD SkillBridge Web App Home Page, or click on the search icon (magnifying glass) in the top left corner of the screen. 2. This will open the Advanced Search panel. Here you can enter: a. Keywords - Keywords that are mentioned in the training opportunity listing. b. Location (or click Find me to get your current location) - Location of the training opportunity if a physical event. c. Search Radius - If you choose a location, you can also choose a mileage radius for your search area. d. Training Start Date e. Training End Date 3. Click Search at the bottom of the Advanced Search panel to execute your search. 4. A list of training opportunities will be presented that match your search criteria. Click on the opportunity title to view details about the opportunity and to inquire about additional details. 5. You can refine your results by clicking the Refine Results button at the top of the search results list.

4 Inquire about or Apply for a Training Opportunity To inquire or apply to take part in a DoD SkillBridge training opportunity: 1. Use the search or notification functionality to find opportunities that may be of interest. 2. Click on the title of an opportunity to see additional details. 3. This will take you to DoD SkillBridge page dedicated to the opportunity. On this page, you can: a. View all of the details about the opportunity. b. Retweet the opportunity in Twitter to share it with your followers. To retweet, click the retweet icon to the right of the training opportunity title. c. Inquire for additional details and sign up for the training opportunity. To inquire click the Inquire button at the bottom of the page. 4. Important Note: Inquiring about training opportunities redirects you from DoD SkillBridge to an external system. You may need to contact a person via , fill out an online form or download additional materials to apply for an opportunity. This user experience is managed by the individual training provider and may not be consistent from opportunity to opportunity. My Profile Your SkillBridge profile allows you to set and modify search criteria related to your skills, preferred location, whether you would like to show your profile information with training providers and how and how often you would like DoD SkillBridge notifications. You can access your profile at any time by logging in and then clicking the hamburger menu (menu with three (3) horizontal lines) in the top right hand corner. You will also be redirected to My Profile when signing up for DoD SkillBridge the first time. To update your profile: 1. Click the hamburger menu in the top right hand corner and then select My Profile 2. On the profile page you can enter: a. First and Last Name b. Your Keyword Preferences - Keywords that would show up in training opportunities of interest to you. You can add more keywords by clicking the + icon. You can remove a keyword by clicking the - icon. c. Your Preferred Training Locations - Locations where you would like to attend a training opportunity. You can add more locations by clicking the + icon. You can remove a location by clicking the - icon. 3. Notification Preferences - The DoD SkillBridge notification system will send you notifications either via or Twitter Direct Message when an opportunity matches the criteria specified by your keywords and locations. You can also view your matches by clicking the Match Notifications button at the top of the My Profile page. 4. Notification Frequency - Enter the frequency you would like to be notified about DoD SkillBridge opportunities. 5. Share my contact information with companies - Select yes to allow companies to search for you based on your profile information. 6. Click Submit to save any changes.

5 My Favorites Any time you are viewing a list of training opportunities, you can save an opportunity for later by adding it to your favorites. To add an opportunity to your favorites, click the star icon. You must be logged in to favorite training opportunities. To view your favorites: 1. Click the hamburger menu in the top right hand corner and then select My Favorites. 2. A list of your favorites will be displayed. a. You can view additional details by clicking the title. b. You can remove a favorite by clicking the star icon a second time. Logout To logout of the DoD SkillBridge Web App: 1. Click the hamburger menu in the top right hand corner and then select Log out.
