1 Biography of Pouran Derakhshandeh Pouran Derakhshandeh, born in 1951, is a movie director, researcher and writer. She continued her studies at the Colledge of T.V. and Cinema in She made a feature called Plague in the same year which envisaged a plague in Kurdistan province in 1949.The following year in 1976, she made a movie called The last Wednesday of the Year concerning the traditional ceremonies in various regions of Iran. Waves, Prayer Signet and Rug was the name of a documentary she made in 1978 which was a survey about women, occupation and handicrafts made in Kurdistan province. In 1978 she made the documentaries Mineral Springs on the Haraz Road and the triology Handicrafts in Kurdistan. Waves; prayer Signet and Rug; Elaborate Work; Guilim; Natural and Artificial Fibre (in 4 parts) were made by her in the same year which envisaged a survey regarding thread, silk, wool and artificial fiber. The Wheels Rotate was another documentary made by her in which was a glance at the economical recession and closing of the plants, in particular, closing of the Iran National (presently called Iran Khodro) auto plant. Showkarn in 17 parts was made by her in 1990 upto 1992, a documentary about the addiction issue among women, men and children in Iran and also the smuggling problem and solutions for these problems (Only 3 parts were displayed).
