Coach Matuszeski has a Master s Degree in Human Performance and writes specific training programs to meet the needs of developing high school athletes. The program is designed to a. Develop areas that are most susceptible to injury b. Develop all major muscle groups of the body c. Create explosive athletes through the execution of specialized exercises d. Strive for muscle balance by doing auxiliary lifts If you are serious about becoming an outstanding athlete, the summer strength training program is essential. We believe that training with the athletes you compete with creates positive relationships and camaraderie among teammates. Our goal is to group athletes so they are lifting with their peers in similar sports and skill levels. If the group you are assigned to above does not fit with your summer school schedule, please contact Coach Yashinsky and he will work with you. We are always flexible to making schedules work for those looking to work hard at improving their athletic abilities. This is a training program, not an open weight room. We will work with athletes to modify exercises to meet ability levels and rehab from any injuries, but we are not supervising those who choose to bring their own workouts from outside sources. We do not have the supervision or space to accommodate those who are choosing to do workouts outside of the scope of this course. If your middle school athlete wants to attend Speed Training, he/she can attend an earlier weight session to accommodate that. Please to arrange. Sessions will be one hour and will be coordinated with the summer strength program. If you cannot meet during your assigned session, talk to Mr. Yashinsky or Mr. Wojta to set up in a different session. Please come as consistently as possible for maximum improvement.
