2 HAVING REAGARD of favourable opinion of the Student Permanent Commission acquired on 12 May 2016; HAVING REGARD to deliberation of Board of Governors of Politecnico di Milano of 31 May 2016; HAVING REGARD to Managerial Decree of 31 May 2016 prot by which was issued the Call to assign the benefits of the Right to Education for the Academic Year 2016/2017; HAVING REGARD to deliberation of the Regional Council of Lombardia Region n. X/5312 of 20 June 2016 concerning «Determination regarding the methods and previsions about minimum funding for allocation of benefits under competition for the right to higher education - academic year 2016/17»; HEREBY DECREES to add/modify the Call mentioned in the introduction with the following provisions. 3 ART. 1 Financial Requirements Article 3 - General Section - of the Call mentioned in the introduction is modified as follows: Independent Student Income In the case of "independent" students, income will not be integrated with that of their family of origin. The student is defined as being "independent" when all of the following requirements are met: 1) The student must have a separate and different residence to that of the family of origin for at least two years from the date of submission of the application; 2) The student s residence must not be in a property owned by the family of origin; 3) The student must have earned a fiscally declared income for at least two years, from employment or similar, not less than euro 6,500. The work should not be connected to employment with a family member of the student. If the independent student s family registration proves that he/she is cohabiting with another person, it is obligatory to consider both incomes, even if there are no family ties. ART. 2 Number of Scholarships The Article I - Chapter I - Scholarships - of the Call mentioned in the introduction is modified as follows: The number of scholarships under competition is to be divided in the following manner: Programmes Students enrolled in the first year of Bachelor of Science or single-cycle Master of Science programmes Students enrolled in the first year of Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programmes Students enrolled in the first year of PhD and specializing courses Students enrolled in years subsequent to the first of all programmes Students enrolled in years subsequent to the first of PhD and specialisation programmes Number of scholarships
4 ART. 3. Amount of the Scholarship The Article I - Chapter I - Scholarships - of the Call mentioned in the introduction is amended as follows: The scholarship amount is calculated both on the student s income bracket as well as on the geographic origin of the student. Income brackets 1 st Income Bracket from euro 0.00 to euro 14, nd Income Bracket from euro 14, to euro 17, rd Income Bracket from euro 17, to euro 23,000 Geographic origin of the student The amount of the scholarships, including repayment of regional tax for the right to study, is defined as follows: Local Students 1 st Income Bracket euro 1,954 + a daily meal for a total of euro 2,646 2 nd Income Bracket euro 1,503 + a daily meal for a total of euro 2,195 3 rd Income Bracket euro 1,188 + a daily meal for a total of euro 1,880 Commuting Students 1 st Income Bracket Euro 2,155 + a daily meal for a total of euro 2,847 2 nd Income Bracket euro 1,702 + a daily meal for a total of euro 2,394 3 rd Income Bracket euro 1,384 + a daily meal for a total of euro 2,076 4
5 Resident students as guests at the accommodation facilities of Politecnico di Milano 1 st Income Bracket euro 2,106 + accommodation + a daily meal for a total of euro 5,139 2 nd Income Bracket euro 1,535 + accommodation + a daily meal for a total of euro 4,568 3 rd Income Bracket euro accommodation + a daily meal for a total of euro 4,020 Students away from home that use other public or private residential facilities 1 st Income Bracket euro 4,447 + a daily meal for a total of euro 5,139 2 nd Income Bracket euro 3,876 + a daily meal for a total of euro 4,568 3 rd Income Bracket euro 3,328 + a daily meal for a total of euro 4,020 All the amounts above must be considered halved, as well as their free services, by students that receive the scholarship for the year following the last year of regular programme. If the recipient belongs to the category of civilian disabled or invalids according to Article 2 of Law 30 March 1971 n. 118, or is in a situation of disability, with a disability equal to or greater than 66%, the annual amount of the scholarship can be raised to a maximum of euro: euro for local students euro for commuting students euro for students away from home ART. 4. Cost of Accommodation Places The Article 10 - Chapter IV - Housing Service with Assisted Rate - of the Call mentioned in the introduction is integrated with the following provision: 5
6 Students benefiting from scholarships Students who have been assigned a scholarship for the academic year 2016/17, will find a deduction of 2,341 in their scholarship as a lump-sum payment to cover their accommodation from the assignment of the room until 31 st July, 2017 ART. 5. Recipients of catering service The Article 1 - Chapter V - Catering Service - of the Call mentioned in the introduction is integrated with the following provision: Pursuant to Art. 9, paragraph 5, of the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers 9 April 2001, to students, to whom a scholarship is awarded for the a.y. 2016/2017, a deduction, of euro 692, will be made on the amount of the scholarship. ART. 6 Annex 2 - List of particularly poor countries Following the publication of the Ministerial Decree No. 556 of 8 July 2016, the following are considered to be "particularly poor" countries: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Democratic People s Republic of Korea, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kenya, Kiribati, Laos, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe. ART. 7 Referral rules All other provisions contained in the Call mentioned in the introduction remain unchanged (See Managerial Decree of 31 May 2016 prot ). 6
