1 INTRODUCTION This work is an introduction to the school and to the village of Predazzo where the school is located. It is ment for the English speaking visitors of the site and it is divided in five parts: Part n. 1 is called Predazzo and it is about the location of the village, the church and the most important shops. Part n. 2 is called The Schools in Predazzo and it is about the location and the description of the four kind of schools. Part n. 3 is called Industry and Tourism and it is about the Pastificio Felicetti and the Agency of Tourism in Predazzo. Part n. 4 is called San Martino: a festival and it is about a special festival in Predazzo which takes place every 11 th November. Part n. 5 is a spidergram of the most important attractions in Predazzo. This work has been done by a group of students of the third year of our Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado who studied English in an afternoon option of two hours a week for three months. The teacher of the option was Mrs. Baxter Jenni, the lettrice of the institute.

2 PREDAZZO Predazzo is in Trentino Valley of Fiemme, in the north of Italy. T.A.A. is divided in two parts, in two provinces: Trento and Bolzano, in Alto-Adige, in fact the part of Bolzano is Alto Adige and the part of Trento is Trentino. It is near Cavalese, and it is bigger than Cavalese. In Predazzo there are many shops, for example THE SUPERMARKET, DESPAR and PANET, swimming

3 pool, secondary and primary schools, horse stables, ski slopes and ski jumping centre. Predazzo s Church is the most beautiful in The valley. It has been built in 1866 and it has been completed in Panet is a sports shop. You can buy sports clothes, sporting equipment and every thing for sport! It is important because it sells unique sports equipment. The most important sports in Predazzo are skiing downhill, crosscountry and football. Panet is over Poli. To get to Panet you go straight on along the main road and turn right, turn right again and in front of you there is it. It is in street Fiamme Gialle, n 63. Cooperativa is a supermarket and there is every thing you could need. It is vey big, it sells typical products; for example fresh cheese and every type of meat! It sells many types of honey, many jams,

4 many types of wine and spirits. In Cooperativa there is a clothes department and a home department! It is near the youth centre. 5 Predazzo is in the Valley of Fiemme. It is near Ziano, in Trentino-Alto Adige. It is in the north of Italy, in Europe. The weather in summer is sometimes hot. Usually it is 20 C in summer and 6 C in winter. Sometimes snowy in winter. In Predazzo there are four main schools: a nursery, a primary school, a secondary school and an accountancy school. The nursery is near the main square. The children stay in it for three years. They stay seven hours in a day, for six days in a week. They usually eat, drink, play, do little project and learn many things. There are 26 rooms and 129 children. The primary school is near the secondary school. The children stay in it for five years. They stay four hours and half in a day, for six days in a week. They start at 8.00 o clock and finish at In it the children learn to write and to read. There are 34 rooms and 350 children about. The secondary school is near the accountancy school. The kids stay in it for three years. They stay five hours in a day, for six days in a week, but Saturday they stay only for three hours and half. They start at 8.00 o clock and finish at o clock. In it the kids learn many things more difficult than the other things learnt in the others schools. There are 34 rooms and 246 kids. The accountancy school is near the Hotel Bellaria and in front of the secondary school. The kids stay in it for five years. They stay five hours in a day, for six days in a week. 6 With the interviews we discover many things about our schoolmate. There are the answer of six girls and five boys. We ask questions and these are the answers: - Do you like the school? Why? Four out of eleven say they don t like the school; two say they like the school; while the others say they like the school yes and no. - What s the best subject? Four out of eleven say the best subject is Art; four say the best is P.E.; the others say the best are Music, German and Maths. - And the worst? Four out of eleven say the worst subject is Italian; three say the worst is Technology; two say the worst is P.E; while the others say the worst are Maths, Geography and History. - What s the best teacher man? Eight out of eleven say the best teacher man is Macuglia; the others three say the best is Braito. - And the best teacher women? Four out of eleven say the best teacher women is Puosi; two say the best is Scagliotti; other two say the best is Zorzi; while the others three say the bests are Jenny, Roberto and Losciale.

7 ACCOUNTANCY SCHOOL SECONDARY SCHOOL The secondary school is near the accountancy school PRIMARY SCHOOL The primary school is near the secondary school. Go out of the secondary school, turn right, go straight on, turn left, go straight on and on the left there is the primary school CINEMA The accountancy school is near the Hotel Bellaria. Go out of the secondary school and it is in front of you The nursery is near the main square. Go out of the secondary school, turn right, go straight on, turn left and go straight on. Than turn right, go straight on, as far as the main square, across the main square and on the left there is the nurser SQUARE NURSERY

8 Felicetti is a pasta productor. It is in suborder of Predazzo and it is form in To arrive at Pastificio Felicetti you go to Vardabasso street and go to Minghetti street, turn right and go via Don L.Felicetti. The Agency of Tourism is a agency of promotion of the culture and the tourism. The chiefs offices are in Cavalese and Predazzo. The Predazzo s office is in Cesare Battisti road, in the centre of the town. To arrive at Agency of Tourism you can go to Alcide Degasperi main street as far as Cinema Theatre and you turn right as far as Agency of Tourism.

9 San Martino: a festival San Martino is the 11 th day of November. The 5 parts of Predazzo makes bonfires and on the 11 night of November there are set alight. The 5 parts are: Somaila, Ischia, Molin; Ta la Bira e Pè de pardac. The parts are decided depending on where you live. At 8 o clock the bonfire are set alight and the 5 groups go to the main square. People with the cowbells walk in the streets ringing them remember the work that they heave done year. The 5 parts Iscieri Go out of the main square and go to the main road as far as the petrol station, then turn right and go straight, turn right and as dar as the slope, go up the slope until you get o a flat ground. Somaileri Go out of the main square and go up the road, before the stables turn left and go until you get to flat ground. Molineri Go out of the main square and go to the main road turn left and go straight on and turn right and turn left, than go straight on on along and go up. Paneti Go to the main square and go to the main road. Go straight on as far as a fountain on the left. Near the fountain there is a street. Take this street and go straight on. Near the sport place there is a car park. You can park in it. Then there is a slope a little high and go up the slope as far as the bonfire. Bireri This group is near the cavern of Molineri.
