1 Cloud Economics 1.1 Overview One of the core benefits of Cloud services is the truly disruptive utility price models that they are based on. This utility pricing is designed to facilitate new levels of agility, flexibility and scalability in stark contrast to traditional solutions. In order to extract maximum benefit from Cloud Economics, it is important that you optimise your solution by considering the following key principles. 1.2 Key Principles As Skyscape pricing is based on actual consumption (e.g. per VM per hour, per GB per month, etc.) it is essential that you model your pricing based on predicted utilisation rather than a high watermark (e.g. peak capacity) as you might when sizing traditional solutions. Consider the following: What is the ramp up period from zero to full utilisation? (e.g. if your business-as-usual solution requires 50 servers and your go-live is in 6 months time, it is likely that you might only require 5 servers in month 1, 15 in month 2, etc) Do all the servers have to run all the time? As VM s are charged by the hour, you can make significant savings by turning off your VM s when they are not needed (e.g. overnight or during weekends). Some non-production environments might only be required during certain times of the project/year. Hence if you only need a UAT environment one week per month, be sure to factor that in to the hourly pricing. Are your servers right-sized? It is very easy to scale-up your servers with more CPU, Memory or Storage resources so it is often prudent to start small and scale up if you really need more capacity. Do you require those redundant virtual machines? The Skyscape Cloud offers inherent resilience to mitigate hardware failure and even site failure (at ENHANCED service level). Be sure you need redundancy at the application layer before you add in the additional cost of these redundant virtual servers. Document: Skyscape Pricing Guide (SC-GEN-42) Page 4 of 22

2 IaaS: Compute (Production) Please review the Skyscape Compute as a Service (Production) Service Description for full details of the service including a description of service levels, features, requirements and customer/partner responsibilities. 2.1 Step 1: Select Virtual Machines based on desired Size, Service Level & Impact Level Each Virtual Machine is billed per hour, so if you do not require VM s to run 24x7, model the calculations accordingly. For example, a VM which is run 8 hours a day, 5 days a week is up-to 73% less expensive than running the VM 24x7. vcpu (2GHz) RAM (GB) T&D BASIC STANDARD ENHANCED IL0 IL2 IL3 IL0 IL2 IL3 IL0 IL2 IL3 IL0 IL2 IL3 Micro 1 1 (500MHz) Tiny Small Medium Medium High Memory Large Large High Memory Tier 1 Apps Small Tier 1 Apps Medium Tier 1 Apps Large 1 Micro has a fixed 10GB storage allocation which cannot be expanded. All Micro VM s must reside in a dedicated Virtual Data Centre separate from the other VM sizes. Customers can configure a VPN between Virtual Data Centres to enable communication between Micro VM s and other VM s. Billing is per hour, each partial hour consumed will be billed as a full hour. Whilst a VM is stopped, charges will be applied to the persistent storage/backup element. The monthly charge for storage/backup will be pro-rated where appropriate. If reconfiguring or resizing a VM outside the pre-defined templates, pricing is based the next closest sized machine in an upwardly fashion. The VM charges above are incurred when the VM is running. When the VM is stopped the storage charges are incurred. When the VM is deleted no charges are incurred. As part of the initial order, Clients can select the Skyscape FASTstart option on the order form. This is a free service in which Skyscape will provision the VMs stated at the specification required within an initial order form. Document: Skyscape Pricing Guide (SC-GEN-42) Page 5 of 22

2.2 Step 2: Select Additional Storage & Backup All Virtual Machines (Except Micro) come with 50GB storage which cannot be pooled. Select additional storage at the required storage level if you require more. Micro VM s are fixed at 10GB and cannot be expanded further. 15 8 SaaS: Documentum as a Service Please review the following Service Descriptions for full details of the service including a description of service levels, features, requirements and consumer responsibilities: and Collaboration as a Service Case Management in the Cloud Customer Once in the Cloud Document Management in the Cloud , SharePoint and File Archive in the Cloud Intelligent Document Capture in the Cloud Investigative Case Management in the Cloud Management of Digital Evidence in the Cloud NHS Electronic Patient Records in the Cloud 8.1 Step 1: Documentum Licenses The following licenses can be selected for the solution; Software Unit Price , SharePoint and File Archive Service /Per mailbox per month 0.38 Intelligent Document Capture /Per page image 0.04 Case Management as a Service /Per user per month Management of Digital Evidence /Per item of evidence ingested 6.25 Document Management in the Cloud /Per user per month Investigative Case Management /Per user per month Customer Once /Per assessment 5.00 Electronic Patient Record /Per user per month The above licenses provide a range of Documentum components that are required to provide the end use of the service. 8.2 Step 2: Infrastructure Sizing Based on the Application architecture, determine the amount of Compute and Storage services that are required. It is likely that you will have requirements for Database servers, Content Servers, Application Servers and so on. For each server, determine: Required Impact Level Required Service Level Required Virtual Machine size (amount of CPU and RAM) Amount of storage capacity Based on the answers above, use the following sections in this document for pricing: IaaS: Compute (Production) IaaS: Compute (Test & Dev) Storage as a Service Document: Skyscape Pricing Guide (SC-GEN-42) Page 15 of 22

8.3 Step 3: Documentum Platform management Skyscape no longer provide an option for the management of the Documentum platform as a number of Skyscape partners have developed the capability to provide this management service. Skyscape will be happy to introduce you to possible partners if this is required. 8.4 Step 4: Determine Network Requirements and other services In order to consume Compute as a Service, clients will require appropriate accreditations and connectivity. Please refer to section 9.1, which provides a list of available connectivity options. 8.5 Step 5: Consider other non-skyscape costs The consumer then needs to determine the costs of providing the components out of scope such as Application Development, Application Management and Service Management. 8.6 A typical example deployment might be priced as follows: Step 1: Determine Documentum Licenses 500 x Case Management as a per user per month = 10,625 per month Step 2: Infrastructure Sizing We assume the application architecture requires a Small sized IL3 non-production environment (UAT) and a Medium sized IL3 production environment. Based on an assumed number and mix of Virtual Machine sizes the Compute-as-a-Service Service Descriptions provide the prices as: Small IL3 Test & Development environment 2, Medium IL3 Production environment 15, Total IaaS per month = 18, Step 3: Documentum Platform management Skyscape no longer provide an option for the management of the Documentum platform as a number of Skyscape partners have developed the capability to provide this management service. Skyscape will be happy to introduce you to possible partners if this is required. Step 4: Connectivity Assuming the solution requires 3Mbps of GSI bandwidth in a single data centre = 3 x 375 = Step 5: Consider non-skyscape costs The consumer needs to determine the costs of providing the components out of scope such as Platform Deployment, Platform Management, Application Development, Application Management and Service Management. Total price for the Documentum Platform Managed service = 10,625 plus 18, = 28, per month. Document: Skyscape Pricing Guide (SC-GEN-42) Page 16 of 22

9.2 Small Colocation Service To facilitate adoption of Skyscape s Cloud Services, Skyscape can accommodate the physical hosting of a small amount of customer equipment within each UK data centre. The Small Colocation Service is strictly limited to 10U and 1KW per data centre per solution. This incurs a setup charge of 2,000 and a recurring charge of 500 per data centre per month. The 10U/1KW limits apply to all physical equipment, including network devices (e.g. VPN appliances, customer routers/firewalls, etc.). The Colocation Racks are outside of the PGA accreditation (i.e. requires self-accreditation) but as they reside within our PGA accredited data centre suite, physical access to the environment is strictly controlled. Hence this service is not suitable where regular physical access to the colocation equipment is required. Document: Skyscape Pricing Guide (SC-GEN-42) Page 18 of 22

10 Appendix A: Pricing and Discounts General 10.1 VAT All pricing is shown exclusive of VAT Billing information The channel partner will be billed on a monthly basis. The bill will be automated and will show units consumed by duration, as determined by the relevant Service Description. When applicable, credits, volume and service threshold discounts will be identified and applied. When required, itemised bills will be aggregated up from individual cost centres to show consolidated consumption by customer organisation. The Channel Partner will be responsible for providing management information to the Government Procurement Service as set out in Clauses 10.1 to 10.4 of the G-Cloud Framework Agreement, and will be responsible for meeting the Government Procurement Service Management Charge as set out in Clauses 11.1 to 11.6 of the G-Cloud Framework agreement Commitment Discount Customers can gain a discount off the standard rates by making a commitment for minimum monthly amounts during a 12 month period. The commitment relates to spend during the period (rather than VM s or GB s) as follows: PO Value Discount Level < 100K 0% 100K- 249K 5% 250K- 499K 9% 500K- 749K 13% 750K+ 16% Customers will be required to raise a non-conditional purchase order for the required net amount (after discount) which will entitle them to receive services up to the value of the gross (prediscount) amount. Customers will be required to break-down the commitment with monthly spend amounts any amount not consumed within an individual month will not be rolled forward to a subsequent month. Discounts are per purchase order only. Worked Example: If you know that you will spend at least 300,000 per year with Skyscape, you can make that commitment and receive an effective 9% discount. We would require a PO of 273,000 ( 300,000 less 9%) which will be payable even if you don t consume that level of Skyscape services within 12 months. Any consumption in excess of 300,000 will be billable at the standard Skyscape rates unless a new commitment is made. Document: Skyscape Pricing Guide (SC-GEN-42) Page 19 of 22
