P a g e 1 Returning in All-Skills Camps and Elite Camp Schedules o If you are a returning camper to one of our All-Skills or Elite Camp, you will see that you are checking out at night on either Tuesday or Friday during the week. The change was a discussion we had as a staff that was aimed to condense our training while also maximizing the learning for each camper. You might expect less training, but that is not the case. We have restructured the schedules to make sure the campers are still receiving appropriate time in the gym. In addition, we will try to add on to our campus tour (pending weather) and give campers the opportunity to ask current Huskie Volleyball players questions about what it s like being a division I student-athlete. Specific information on the schedule will be available a week or two leading up to each camp. 2. Serve and Pass Clinics o The Serve and Pass Clinics are returning in These clinics will run from 9:00am- 12:00pm on Saturday, June 11 th and 12:00pm-3:00pm on Wednesday, July 13 th. We will not provide any meals for this clinic and campers are expected to eat lunch prior to their arrival. The only exception is if you sign up for both the All-Skills III Camp and Elite Camp. In that event, your meals will be covered on Wednesday, July 13 th. o This clinic is focused solely on two skills, serving and serve receive. Each camper will work on both skills independently with plenty of reps. Following the high volume of repetition, we will combine the two skills and introduce some games where they can test out their fresh skills and techniques. 3. Residence Hall Building o The Residence Hall we will utilize throughout our 2016 NIU Volleyball camps is called Stevenson. The Stevenson Residence Hall is directly next to the Grant towers and it is also the location of our cafeteria where campers will eat all of their meals. This location helps to reduce the amount of walking our campers are doing outside and also allows for better rest periods between camp sessions.

P a g e 2 Registration 1. Which camp should we sign up for, the All-Skills Camp or the Elite Camp? o If you are asking this question, it might be beneficial to do both. We offer a discounted rate if you sign up for both and will allow campers the opportunity to determine whether or not they d like more advanced training. If you would only like to participate in one of the camps, the Elite camp moves beyond the basic skills and helps to develop more advanced skills with an emphasis on more combination of skills and more transition that occurs in volleyball. This creates a faster paced environment for campers. o Another option to help you determine would be to sign up for one of our two Specialty Clinics held on June 12 th and July 10 th. They are single day camps for instruction in their position of choice (hitter, setter, or passer). If they feel like they are one of the top campers during the specialty clinic, it might be best to sign them up for the Elite camp instead of the All-Skills. You could also ask a coach following the clinic to get an impression where they feel they would receive the most helpful information to develop as a student-athlete. *** All camps are open to anyone and are only limited by age and number of campers*** 2. Specialty and Serve and Pass Clinics o Specialty clinics are our position training sessions. Campers pick whether they want to work on all areas of hitting, setting, or playing the libero position (serve receive and defense). It is possible to do more than one, but we recommend spending the full time in one position to ensure you get the full position training experience. o Serve and Pass clinic (Returning in 2016). During this three hour clinic we will focus on two of the most important skills in the game; serving and serve receive. We will share new techniques and ensure each camper learns more about each skill and what it takes to become an Elite Huskie. 3. Do we have to pay in full for the camp? o Yes. We do not accept deposits or partial payments. The Specialty Clinic has a $25 cancellation fee and the All-Skills/Elite Camps have a $50 cancellation fee. The Serve and Pass Clinic is non-refundable. 4. If my camper wants to attend the specialty camp and work on both setting and hitting, is that possible? o Yes it is possible and the camper should let camp staff know if they want to work on multiple skills. We know that a lot of young girls have not selected a specialty skill they want to dedicate themselves to yet and we embrace that. If there is a specific skill they want to get really good at, we highly recommend our specialty clinics and working on just one of the skills. We have had campers attend both dates of our specialty clinic where they can get a full day of instruction on hitting and a full day of instruction on setting (or passing).

P a g e 3 5. What happens after I register online? o Following your registration, you will receive a confirmation confirming your registration for the selected camp(s). If you register online, you will also see a confirmation on your screen once you complete the online registration forms. In the weeks leading up to the camp date, you will also receive a packet of information via the you provide during registration. 6. Why is the All-Skills III + Elite Camp more expensive? o All-Skills III + Elite Camp is more expensive because it includes the cost of the following, All-Skills III and Elite Camp Tuesday night stay in the Residence Hall Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner on Wednesday, July 13 th Serve and Pass Clinic on Wednesday, July 13 th Supervision between camps and clinic o In short, the camper will stay with us from Sunday, July 10 th when they check-in for All- Skills III until the check-out for Elite Camp on Friday, July 15 th. o *It does NOT include the Specialty Clinic from 9-3pm on Sunday*

P a g e 4 Residence Halls 1. Are campers supervised in the Residence Hall? o There will always be an adult camp staff member in the Residence Halls with the girls. Generally there will be 3-6 NIU women volleyball players staying with the campers in the Residence Hall. They are there to ensure the girls are safe and also available in case of an emergency or cases where a camper is not feeling well. 2. Will my child's roommate request be honored? o We will make every effort to honor all roommate requests, but we cannot guarantee that all will be met. In the instance that a camper has requested more than one roommate or multiple campers all request the same roommate, we will make the selection. Requests for blocks of rooms near each other can be requested. Again, we cannot guarantee requests for blocks but will do our best to honor each request. 3. Can campers room with multiple friends while at the overnight camp? o We encourage campers to meet new friends and mingle at our camps. We will do our best to ensure roommate requests are met. 4. What should the campers bring for the overnight camps? o Suggested items, Bed sheets (twin long size) Pillow and Blanket Toiletries Shower essentials / towel Alarm clock Water Bottle T-Shirts Shorts or Spandex Socks Kneepads Competition shoes Small amount of spending money ($10 for a pizza) 5. Are the Residence Halls air conditioned? o Yes! In the past campers stayed in Residence Halls that were not air conditioned and it was the only complaint about the camp. We knew we had to make sure the girls were comfortable and so we have moved our camp Residence Hall to a building with air conditioning. 6. Do the Residence Halls have internet access? o Yes! There is wireless internet access in the Residence Halls.

P a g e 5 Meals and Health 1. What meals will the campers receive? o All-Skills and Elite Campers Campers will eat at the NIU dining halls during the All-Skills and Elite camps. Your registration payment for overnight campers includes their meals beginning with breakfast and ending with dinner on the last day. The following is a sample list of provided meals for an overnight camper in an All-Skills camp, Check-in Day - no meals provided. Option to order food for after evening session. Day two 3 meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner o o Day three - 3 meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner (released at 6pm) Our cafeteria has a good variety of meal choices throughout camp. We are not sure what is offered every day but we can guarantee salads, fruits, and vegetables to be served daily along with a choice of an entrée. Campers who are commuting and not staying in the Residence Hall will receive lunch and dinner on the two days they are provided. They will not receive breakfast. Please let our camp staff and/or trainers know during registration if there are any food allergies we need to be made aware of. Specialty Clinic You will need to provide your camper with a sack lunch for the hour break in the middle of the clinic. In the past we have had campers with sack lunches from home or parents who bring back a sub or sandwich from a local restaurant. No food is provided for the specialty clinics. There are water fountains and Gatorade coolers during all of our camps. Serve and Pass Clinic There will be no meals provided. The camp runs from 9:00am-12:00pm June 11 th and 12:00-3:00pm July 13 th. It is recommended to have your camper eat an early lunch at least 30 minutes prior to their arrival to allow for digestion before training in the gym. 2. What if my daughter gets sick, injured, or home sick before or during camp and wants to come home? o We will have no problem releasing the camper to their parents/guardians at any time. However, Specialty Clinics have a $25 non-refundable fee and camps have a $50 nonrefundable fee for cancellation prior to camp. The Serve and Pass Clinic is nonrefundable at any time. There is also no refund upon voluntary withdrawal or expulsion from camps or clinics. Other cases may be subject to discussion, but there is no guarantee of reimbursement.

P a g e 6 Parents 1. Are parents allowed to watch clinics or camps? o Parents are welcome to stay and watch any of our sessions. We have a dedicated session on the last day of each camp that parents generally attend. We incorporate all of the skills the campers learn and play a bunch of fun and competitive games and scrimmages. We recommend attending the last session. 2. What time should we pick up our camper if they are a commuter? o During the All-Skills and Elite Camps, parents should plan to drop off their camper at the Stevenson Residence Hall at 8:30am. Parents should also plan to pick up their camper following the evening session from the Stevenson Residence Hall at approximately 8:45pm. 3. Where and what time should we pick up our camper on the final day of camp? o You can pick up your camper at the Stevenson Residence Hall at approximately 6:00pm on the final day. The final session ends at about 5:30-6:00pm but campers often take their time to say their goodbyes to new friends and get signatures from their favorite camp staff coaches. o If you are attending the final session, campers may be picked up from the gym however their Residence Hall items will need to be picked up at the Stevenson Residence Hall following the camp. Parking 1. Where should we park? o The NIU staff will provide you with a parking pass as a part of the registration packet. This pass must be displayed in your windshield during your time on campus. Parking instructions are shown on the parking pass and you should refer any questions to the NIU coaching staff prior to your arrival or during registration.

P a g e 7 Training and Schedule 1. What is a typical day like during the All-Skills and Elite camp where my camper is staying overnight? o We will provide you with a schedule prior to camp with more details.
