This is what the doctor Carsten Vagn-Hansen says about probiotics and Vita Biosa October 2011 Excerpts from his book The stomach your best friend as well as from Content of this document Definition of probiotics from The stomach your best friend 2 Probiotics, Vita Biosa, from 3 Other quotes about Vita Biosa from The stomach your best friend 4 Page Note! Note on page 2, that professor Teruo Higa from Okinawa is not the inventor of Vita Biosa, but has discovered some contexts, which have been inspiring in the development of Vita Biosa. 1

Definition of Probiotics Quotes from the doctor Carsten Vagn-Hansen s book The stomach your best friend Page 122: Probiotics means life promoting. Probiotics are defined as living microorganisms, which, given in an appropriate amount, are beneficial for the health of the receiver. Probiotics, Vita Biosa article from Vita Biosa is neither a natural medicine nor a supplement, but a food with very good physiological effects. It is the normal, healthy, naturally occurring microorganisms, predominantly lactic acid bacteria, which are very important for our intestines, digestion and bowel function, for the absorption of nutrients and for the immune system. The intestinal bacteria are also necessary for the formation of many vitamins, for example Vitamin K. Plants treated with Vita Biosa grow more and become stronger. This has been clearly proved by the inventor Teruo Higa from Okinawa. With his effective microorganisms he was also able to treat and cleanse the water from the toilets in the library where he worked, so that it was ready to drink 2 weeks later. Bacteria are necessary in order to avoid becoming ill. If we lack bacteria on our skin, we are more susceptible to infections and skin diseases. If there were a lack of bacteria in our digestive system, we would soon die of infections, as we would loose our resistance to disease the immune system, which is stimulated to a high degree by our intestinal flora, among others by lactic acid bacteria. If there are too few lactic acid bacteria present, it will be easier for harmful bacteria to colonize the intestines, for example candida fungus (thrush) and many dangerous bacteria that are found in foods, partly because of the modes of production. For example salmonella, yersinia, campylobacter and listeria. This is why, among other things, that it is important to take a daily supplement of lactic acid bacteria when travelling in foreign countries, where there often are many foreign and harmful bacteria. Modern food is generally deficient in healthy bacteria, as we cook and fry most of our food, and seldom eat sufficient fresh vegetables. Or, for example like in Germany or Crete, where vegetables are eaten which have been marinated or fermented with lactic acid bacteria, also characteristic for vegetarian diet. Yoghurt or other sour milk cultures often contain sugar, which inhibits or kills lactic acid bacteria. 2

Lactic acid bacteria and other probiotics, like for example Vita Biosa, enable a better digestion of lactose milk sugar, which most people over three years of age cannot tolerate. Probiotics produce valuable digestive enzymes, among others lactic acid bacteria. They build folic acid and other B vitamin, among others Vitamin B12, and improve the absorption of minerals and trace minerals. The stomach is emptied over a longer period of time, so digestion improves, and nutrients in food can generally be absorbed in a more efficient way. The immune system is stimulated, and probiotics, among others Vita Biosa, have a protective effect against pathogenic microorganisms, among others candida. They also restore a healthy intestinal flora after an antibiotic treatment and thereby strengthen the resilience against new infections. Probiotics strengthen the building of mucus in the stomach and intestines, thus counteracting stomach ulcers and leaky guts. They can possibly prevent cancer by breaking down carcinogenic nitrosamines. People with eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia) starve their lactic acid bacteria in the small intestine and can develop serious digestive disorders. Vita Biosa and other probiotics counteract bad breath, diarrhea and constipation. It is important for people who are about to be operated that their intestines contain an excellent intestinal flora. The intestinal flora of sick people changes within a few hours, for example because of a lowered intake of food, a lack of oxygen in the intestines, the use of strong antibiotics and because of an illness in itself. Then it is extra important to get a supplement of healthy microorganisms. It is best to take probiotics and drink Vita Bios a in the mornings or between mealtimes, because the acidic stomach juices produced during mealtimes can kill off the bacteria. They improve the healing of wounds and in a lotion they are good for the skin, which needs a healthy bacterial flora. Lactic acid in the diet counteracts childhood eczema. Vita Biosa can be bought in Matas drugstores and in health food shops. Take 1-2 tablespoons every morning, eventually in some lukewarm water. The same dosage can be taken in the evenings, until an improvement is apparent. 3

Other quotes from the doctor Carsten Vagn-Hansen s book The stomach your best friend. Page 54 (Candida Thrush) Candida fungi do not flourish in the intestines when the intestinal flora is dominated by lactic acid bacteria (probiotics). One can take probiotics like Vita Biosa, which is a mixture of healthy microorganisms, which produce antioxidants, displace the candida fungi and make the intestinal wall dense and normal. Page 62 (Reflux) One can also try the effective microorganisms in the form of Vita Biosa, which can be purchased in Matas drugstores and in health food stores. These microorganisms are healthy and build copious amounts of good antioxidants, and they displace all pathogenic bacteria, also the stomach ulcer bacteria Helicobacter pylori. For example, one tablespoon three times daily. Page 64 (Cancer of the oesophagus) If there are problems with the digestion, a supplement of vegetable digestive enzymes is recommended, eventually as a powder from the capsules. Also probiotics, for example Vita Biosa. Page 72 (Stomach acid and stomach ulcer) Probiotics in the form of Vita Biosa are excellent against Helicobacter bacteria and against stomach and digestive problems in general. Page 93 (Hepatitis C) Probiotic treatment with healthy lactic acid bacteria among others can strengthen the immune system considerably and aid in treatment. For example Vita Biosa, which is a concoction of effective microorganisms, predominantly lactic acid bacteria, which partly strengthen the immune system, and partly build a lot of antioxidants. Page 105 (Cancer of the pancreas) It is also important to have a well functioning intestinal flora, which produces vitamins and other antioxidants, and here I can recommend taking Vita Biosa in larger amounts, for example 25 ml 3-4 times daily. Page 124 (Probiotics) Vita Biosa is neither a natural medicine nor a supplement, but a probiotic product, a food, with very good physiological effects. It has normal, naturally occurring healthy microorganisms, predominantly lactic acid bacteria, which are very important for our intestines, digestion and bowel functioning, for the absorption of nutrients and for the immune system. Page 132 (Treatment of leaky gut) Good probiotics are also important, for example the lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus acidophilus or Vita Biosa. Page 144 (Diet with Crohn s disease) It is good to take a supplement of probiotics in the form of healthy normal intestinal bacteria of the lactic acid type, for example Idoform or Vita Biosa. 4

Page 155 (Constipation) Lactic acid bacteria or Vita Biosa are good for the intestinal flora. See under probiotics. Page 159 (Irritable bowel syndrome) Vita Biosa is really good for the intestinal flora. Page 167 (Treatment of ulcerative colitis) Probiotics, for example Vita Biosa or other products with lactic acid bacteria, have a positive influence on ulcerative colitis. Page 174 (Collagen colitis) The composition of bacterial flora in the intestines can be crucial. It is recommended to try with Vita Biosa, 25 ml three times daily for some time. If this helps, one can reduce again to a smaller dosage. When Vita Biosa microorganisms and other healthy intestinal bacteria have replaced the bacterial flora in the intestines, it is possible that the disease improves or disappears. Page 179 (Lacerations of the rectum) In order to obtain both a good intestinal flora in the large intestine and to counteract candida fungi, it is important to get probiotics, for example lactic acid bacteria or Vita Biosa. Page 181 (parasites) If the treatment has harmed the natural intestinal flora, I would recommend taking Vita Biosa, at least 30 ml daily. This is a mixture of effective microorganisms, which are good for the intestines and build many antioxidants as well as displacing harmful fungi and bacteria. Page 231 (Diet and cancer) Good digestion and good health is also dependent on a healthy intestinal flora. This means lactic acid bacteria, and it is possible to obtain a really good bacterial flora in the intestines by taking a supplement of Vita Biosa effective microorganisms, i.e. healthy bacteria and fungi that build large amounts of antioxidants, which are anticancer, possibly killing cancer cells. Page 233 (Diet and cancer) Food should contain a lot of indigestible dietary fibre that stimulates the functioning of the intestines, binds carcinogens and is a basis for the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria. A supplement of beneficial probiotics, for example lactic acid bacteria or Vita Biosa, will moreover strengthen a normal and good bowel function as well as the immune system and contribute to the building of vitamins. Page 252 (Mannose-binding lectin- MBL) Lactic acid bacteria are good for recolonizing the bowels with healthy bacteria, and Vita Biosa is even better this is a mixture of healthy bacteria and fungi, especially lactic acid bacteria which partly clear up the bad intestinal bacterial flora, partly improve the health and density of the intestinal mucosa, and partly produce large amounts of the beneficial antioxidants, which aid all functions in the body. Vita Biosa does not taste especially good, but can be taken for example with water or juice. 5
