3 u CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION This three-day conference will feature a group of highly qualified obstetricians and gynecologists, sub-specialists, and clinicians from as well as national experts. The experts will use their extensive experience to provide the conference participants with an exceptional learning experience. The topics included in this intensive course are: high risk obstetrics, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, endocrinology, infertility, and primary care. Workshops will focus on common Ob/Gyn issues. Participants will also review practice questions. u TARGET AUDIENCE This course is intended for Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Family Practitioners and Residents in Family Practice and Obstetrics and Gynecology, Midwives, Physician Assistants and Nurses. u EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND OBJECTIVES This conference is designed to address professional practice gaps in knowledge and clinician competence. Expected results are an increase in clinical performance and improved patient outcomes. Based on these desired results, the learning objectives for this conference are: 1. Identify and evaluate key management issues in gynecological cancers to improve patient outcomes with respect to surgical intervention and radiation and chemotherapy treatments 2. Evaluate aspects of endocrinology and infertility such as menstruation and sexual development disorders, assisted reproductive technology and contraception 3. Decrease complications from pre-term labor, multiple gestation, maternal hypertension and diabetes, and other obstetric complications to improve patient outcomes 4. Address common topics in clinical gynecology such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, fibroids, endometriosis, sexually transmitted diseases and breast disease 5. Be able to manage common urogynecologic problems such as stress incontinence and vault prolapse to improve quality of life for patients 6. Review primary care topics such as cardiovascular diseases to improve primary care outcomes in women 7.
