1 Primary School Absence in Barnet DfE's statistics on Pupil Absence (collated from the School Census). 2014/15 data: SFR39/ /14 data: SFR38/ /13 data: SFR39/ /12 data: SFR22/2012. Local Authority Absence Barnet's overall absence in 2014/15 was 4.2% (Chart 1), placing Barnet 98th out of 152 Local Authorities in the country. This represented an improvement from when Barnet was ranked 120th (Table 1). Barnet's overall absence rates are above national, inner and outer London, caused by higher authorised absence. Barnet's unauthorised absence is equal to national and below inner and outer London (Chart 2). This represented an improvement from 2013-14 when Barnet was ranked 120th (Table 1). Barnet's overall absence rates are above national, inner and outer London, caused by higher authorised absence.

2 Barnet Absence by Reason for Absence (Table 2) Similarly to national, the higher proportion of sessions were lost to authorised illnesses. Barnet has a higher proportion of sessions lost to authorised appointment, religious holidays and "other" compared to national. Barnet also has a lower proportion of unauthorised holidays and "other" unauthorised absences; yet has a higher proportion of absences with no reason yet obtained.
