1 Pixel Québec is proud to present THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF LEGENDS TOURNAMENT, as part of the 2014 edition of the PIXEL CHALLENGE. The Online Tournament will take place from May 9 to 18 and, the finalists will be invited to come to the Imperial de Québec, for the Finals, on May 24, to have the chance to become the Champions of this tournament. THE TOURNAMENT Teams from all over the Country will meet from May 9 to 18, during the Online Tournament. The deadline to register your team is May 8. THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF LEGENDS TOURNAMENT uses the latest version of the League of Legends video game. Each game will bring together 2 teams of 5 players, in the Summoner s Rift map, in the Tournament Draft Custom Games mode. The 4 finalists will be invited to Québec City, at the Imperial de Québec, for the Finals. PIXEL QUÉBEC will offer the accommodation to the teams coming from outside Quebec City. The Semi-Finals will start at 7:00 PM, on May 23 and the Grand Final will be held on May 24, at 8:00 PM. American Caster Daniel "EGAD" Caruso and Québec's Samuel "Dexirian" Ross will be there to host the Finals. The events are open to public and Live Stream will be available on Twitch.tv. MORE THAN $5000 IN PRIZES! The Champions will win the FRIMA CUP, a $5000 value, offered by Frima Studio, RP and 5 Triumphant Ryze skins. 2 nd place will receive $500 and RP and, the team finishing in 3 rd place will also receive $500 and 8000 RP. SCHEDULE Qualification Tournament Online May 9 to 18; The top four teams qualifying tournament will be invited to the finals during the Pixel Challenge; Semi-finals on May 23, at 19h, at the Impérial de Québec (open to public); Semi-final s conclusion on May 24, at 10h, at Impérial de Québec (open to public); Grand final on May 24, at 20h, at the Impérial de Québec (open to public);

2 RULES Game Version: League of Legends (with the latest game version) ESRB Rating: Teen (Age +13) Anyone born before May 9, General Competition Method : 5 vs. 5 (Team Play, 5 players per team); Game Length : Until the winner is determined; If the game becomes a stalemate and there is no action for an extended period of time during the match and the winner cannot be clearly determined, the match is restarted at the sole discretion of the referee; Game Winner: the player who completely destroys their opponent or if their opponent surrenders; Arriving late for a scheduled match may result in a forfeit at the discretion of the Referee; At the end of each match, the players must remain seated, remain at the victory/defeat screen and await a referee to record the results and save the replay; Closing the victory/defeat screen without the replay being saved by a referee may result in a default loss; Pixel Challenge LoL have the right to install additional software and/or join as an observer for tournament operations purposes, such as verifying match results or gathering match data. General Game Setting Mode : Tournament Draft; Champion Selection: Draft mode will be used. All champions will be unlocked which will allow players to select any champion that is not banned during the draft mode Random is allowed; Ban/Pick order : A = Host team Ban : 1(A)/1(B)/1(A)/1(B)/1(A)/1(B) Pick : 1(A)/2(B)/2(A)/2(B)/2(A)/1(B) Map: 5v5 Summoner s Rift (Summer) Games will not be restarted in order to allow for Rune, Mastery, or Champion changes. Disconnections Stoppage of Play Procedure/Pause Rules: 1. A player, who is experiences technical issues, on any team may call for a game restart prior to first blood within the first 5 minutes of the game (i.e. before the timer shows 5:00). The player must be experiencing a hardware malfunction (e.g. monitor, peripheral, etc), a physical disruption (e.g. fan interference, table or chair breakage), or a configuration issues (e.g. runes, masteries, or summoner spells are not properly

3 Pause applied). The player must declare the issue in public chat or to a tournament administrator and then intentionally disconnect. Once the player disconnects, the game is considered null and void and should be restarted unless a tournament administrator determines that the conduct represents unfair play; 2. If an unintentional disconnection occurs within 5 minutes from the start of the match & before first blood OR a player s client crashes or fails to load after champion selection, then the match must be restarted. Otherwise if the unintentional disconnection occurs after those milestones, the game will continue as normal. The crashed player may reconnect into the game as soon as they are able; 3. If a player intentionally disconnects without specifying a reason, then the game will continue as normal; 4. If a server crash occurs, then the head referee or Chief referee will decide either between (a) restarting the game or (b) awarding the game to one of the teams. As a guideline, a game victory will only be awarded in a situation where one team was on the verge of certain defeat (e.g. A nexus was about to be destroyed). 1. Pause (/pause) may be invoked by either a tournament admin or a player based on the following conditions: a. Tournament admins can order the pause of a match for any reason; Tournament admins at a live tournament are allowed to execute a pause command on any player station. b. Players can pause the match if either of the following additional conditions are met: After any player has disconnected from the game due to any form of network disconnect or computer crash. The Player has disconnected message must appear on screen; After requesting and successfully receiving permission from a tournament admin to pause the game due to hardware malfunction (e.g. monitor, peripheral, etc) or a physical disruption of the player (e.g. fan interference, table or chair breakage); Player must receive permission from referees or observers on the Stage Match. If the players pause without permission, the team will be given a warning or lose by forfeit at the sole discretion of the referee. 2. The game will not resume (/unpause) until clearance from an admin is issued and all players are notified and are ready at their stations; 3. If an admin does not resume the game after 10 minutes or determine that technical difficulties will not allow for the game to resume as normal (including a team s ability to be in proper position for certain game events such a minion spawn), then the head admin may make a decision to restart the game or award a game victory to a team, one team was on the verge of certain defeat. Unfair play The following actions will be considered unfair play: 1. The use of any cheat program; 2. An intentional disconnection;

4 3. The use of any settings exceeding the standard and permitted settings; 4. Any unnecessary chatting during the match; Unnecessary chatting means any chatting other than the cases listed below: i ii iii iv v Greeting messages between the players; Repeat of P to request for a pause during a stage match; A signal for the loss (i.e.: gg, GG, or any other message that the referee can use to decide the winner); Chatting between players that does not violate the unsportsmanlike behavior clause; Any message that the referee can judge as part of the game. 5) Clearly allowing one s opponent to win a match; 6) If a referee decides that external conditions (Press, Team Leader, Player, Spectator, etc) are giving or have given an unfair advantage to a player, the player may be given a warning or lose by default at the referee s sole discretion; 7) Unsportsmanlike behavior or, in general, disruptive (e.g., shouting), inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions directed towards another player (even inside the game); 8) The use of a program bug that is determined by the board of referees as being unfair. Stage Match Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the board of referees, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss or, in extreme cases, be disqualified from the tournament; During the course of the Grand Final, the board of referees may determine other actions to embody unfair play. Pixel Challenge LoL may request change of monitor aspect ratio or resolution for broadcasting purposes; A player may request to pause the game should a problem emerge during the stage match. The referee shall pause the game through the Observer and check the reason for the pause; The request to pause a stage match must be made by sending a repeated p through the in-game chat. In case there is a problem with the keyboard input, the player may request to pause the game by raising his or her hand; The players may not arbitrarily pause the game during a stage match. In case this occurs, depending on the severity of the situation and when the pause occurred, the referee may decide to issue a warning or loss by default decision; After reviewing the reason for a pause, if the referee deems the pause unnecessary the referee may decide to issue a warning or loss by default decision; If a player disrupts game play through unnecessary chatting during a stage match, the player may be given a warning, loss of the match by default, or eliminated from the competition at the referee s discretion. ( Unnecessary Chatting is defined in the Unfair play section of these rules).

5 Final provisions The above-mentioned rules may be amended in the following cases: 1) Should the Pixel Challenge LoL Committee, at its sole discretion, decide to adopt the latest patch/version release of each official game; 2) Should the Pixel Challenge LoL Committee, at its sole discretion, decide to modify ingame settings and options required by the use of most recent patch version/release; 3) Should the Pixel Challenge LoL Committee, at its sole discretion, decide to use a newly released Cheat Protection Program and/or cheat protection functions; 4) Should the Pixel Challenge LoL Committee, at its sole discretion, decide to change game settings and/or operations guidelines due to differences between online and offline tournaments; 5) The Pixel Challenge LoL Committee reserve the right to change and/or modify these rules at any time before the start of the competition and, in unforeseeable or force majeure situations, during the competition without prior notice.
