4 our culture of continual improvement Why do we make enhancements to AgencyBloc? Because it s an integral part of our culture. One of our company principles is: We believe that understanding the needs of our clients and their industry is fundamental to helping them transform their business from using paper and spreadsheets to an agency management solution. Therefore, we take time to understand our users, their processes, and their industry to design a product that is easily adopted and transformative. With that comes big responsibility. Though several of our team members come from the insurance industry, we know it s an ever-changing arena. So, we strive to continually learn from our clients and understand what their needs are. In fact, our product was originally built specifically for one large brokerage and has since grown to serve agencies of all sizes from an individual agent to IMOs and FMOs. So, we appreciate the fact that, from our roots, AgencyBloc has always been built with real insurance agents and agency owners needs in mind. identifying our clients needs So, how do we find out what our clients needs and wants are? We utilize surveys a lot. We never want to assume we know what features our clients care about, so we use surveys to learn about needs we may not be aware of or to confirm thoughts we have about features to develop. Our Product Manager, Jennifer Warne, loves surveys and is an expert at crafting them in a way to dive deep into real problems within the insurance industry that our clients are facing. Our mission is to provide powerful solutions by making the convoluted, straightforward. We want our technology to transform the organizations that use it. AgencyBloc Mission Statement What we learned from that product survey led us to begin developing a solution that would be forward-thinking and in-line with our clients needs. page 6 AgencyBloc s Dashboard Analytics page 7

5 why dashboard analytics? From our 2015 Product Survey that was sent to our clients, we learned that, of several features we were considering developing within AgencyBloc, analytics was one that many of our clients said they would find extremely beneficial with 83% ranging from moderately beneficial to extremely beneficial. We explained what the feature would include and asked: Would the Dashboard Analytics feature be beneficial to your organization? When asked in what ways the feature would benefit our clients, they responded: It would help to see coverage type. This way we would know what client owns what types of policies and it would be easier to manage crossselling. This would be a projection of trends and a good way to visually determine the focus of how much business is in what area. It would spark the chance to possibly change the way of thinking on lost opportunities for agents or gain of opportunities for an agent that may give us a chance to learn maybe what they are doing and help others grow and succeed. As you can see, this item struck a chord with our clients. So, we concurred that creating a true dashboard for agencies would allow them to easily interpret the data they have in AgencyBloc and act accordingly. 6 smarter decisions. How does this feature benefit agencies? In order to make smarter business decisions, you need quick access to certain data. AgencyBloc s Dashboard Analytics page 11

7 why would dashboard analytics benefit me? AgencyBloc s new Dashboard Analytics feature is an enhancement to our current Dashboard. It allows agents, agency owners and staff members to visualize their existing data in a way that facilitates smarter business decisions. With these analytics, you can quickly see your own performance and the entire performance of your agency (if you re an agency owner). But, how does that actually affect your agency? Informed decision making is the foundation upon which successful businesses are built. As a decision maker for your business, you need access to highly visual business intelligence tools that can help you make the right decisions quickly. And learning from your data can be time-consuming and difficult if you re only accessing that data through spreadsheets or downloaded reports. Though those tools have their place, getting a quick, real-time pulse on the performance of your agency isn t one of them. Nor would it be easy for you to identify patterns within your data without time-consuming manipulation of the data to create your own visualization. 8 analytics facilitate smarter business decisions Like we said, when your data is visualized in graphs and charts, you can begin to see patterns and base business decisions off of them. But, what kind of business decisions are we talking? Dashboard Analytics help you to more easily and efficiently: Identify cross-selling opportunities Identify your best lead sources Monitor your sales cycle Identify your top carrier products Analyze your commissions These are just a few examples of the types of information you re able to analyze with Dashboard Analytics. Now, let s take a look at the ways the graphs and charts are organized. types of charts and graphs The charts display data for the different categories of information within your AgencyBloc account: Activities, Groups, Individuals, Policies, Carriers, and Commissions. Activities The Activity Dashboard includes your own listed Activities as well as graphs. Sort, filter, and search for activities in your Activity List to accomplish tasks quickly and efficiently, and monitor your performance using the graphs. Groups Within the Groups analytics, view high-level metrics by status, type, lead source and number of policies. This information helps you identify your best lead sources and allows you to monitor where your Groups are at in your sales cycle (prospect vs. client, for example). Individuals The Individuals area makes it easy to gain insight into the state of individual records in your agency. View high-level metrics by status, type, lead source and number of policies. Get an idea of where individuals are and which leads sources are performing the best. Policies The Policies area helps you keep track of your book of business by showing you all of your policies. 9 Carriers Get a quick look into which carriers you do the most business with by looking at graphs showing carriers for Individual policies as well as Group policies. You re also able to view your top carrier products. Commissions The results of all of your hard work can be viewed, tracked, and analyzed by getting a look into your commissions. View your commissions by carrier, top agents, and gain insight into where the dough is made. View metrics by status, type, lead source and number of policies. This information helps you identify top performers within your agency, top products and carriers based on incoming commissions, and more. what this means for insurance agencies With Dashboard Analytics, you have an in-depth look into the health of your agency in real time. As we mentioned before, there are countless benefits to visualizing your data in this way. results across their agency to other team members through printing the graphs or by printing the reports they relate to. 11 useful data visualization requires great design You can roll over chart data to see more detail When developing the technology behind our data visualization, it was very important to us to not only be able to show you your data in charts and graphs, but to do it well. So, we created simplistic graphs and charts that offer up the necessary data without over-doing it. All of the graphs and charts are organized into categories as we discussed before and are color-coded. As we take a look at these categories, keep in mind that data will vary per agency and that there are many more graphs than what can be shown in this ebook. As we mentioned, these are only a sample of the graphs in AgencyBloc, and the data will vary based on your own book-of-business data. However, you can definitely begin to see the types of insights you can gain here. And, you can see what business decisions could be made here. this, there s much less of a need to export and manipulate your data on your own.
