Additinally, the key new features in Wrd, Excel, and PwerPint are highlighted, alng with the new Outlk applicatin. Highlights f Office 2011 All Office 2011 applicatins fr Mac nw include the Ribbn alng the tp f each applicatin windw. Nte, the Ribbn des nt replace the menu bars. It simply allws users t easily access sme f the mst cmmn features f each applicatin in Office The Ribbn is als custmizable, s users can add r eliminate shrtcuts as they wish. T custmize the ribbn, click the wheel icn t the far right f the ribbn. Select Ribbn Preferences t edit the appearance and cntents f the ribbn. Users are able t make changes such as turning the ribbn n r ff, and custmizing what appears in the ribbn. Click OK t make changes. Click t turn the ribbn n, r expand it when pened. Check r uncheck the bxes next t the tls yu wish t appear in yur ribbn, making it as simple r cmplex as yu wish. Yu can als drag tls t rerder them. 2 [Nt fr Circulatin] Click and drag the right f the tabs t arrange them in the rder yu wish. Click the X in the crner f the tab t delete the tab. Lcated abve the ribbn, users will find a bx t search fr text within their files. Anther highlight f Office 2011 is the built-in incrpratin f Micrsft s nline strage features. Mac users will nw be able t directly share and cllabrate n dcuments with ther Mac and Windws users via Micrsft s SkyDrive. Prvided the user has internet access, they are able t uplad their dcuments t SkyDrive, share it with thers, make minr edits, and c-authr and cllabrate in real-time. Under the File menu, click Share. Select Save t SkyDrive. Yu will then be prmpted t lg in with yur Windws Live ID and passwrd. If yu d nt have an accunt, g t and register fr free. In PwerPint, Wrd, and Excel, users will have access t a richer template gallery, full f elabrate templates and designs t utilize in the creatin f new prjects r dcuments. 4 [Nt fr Circulatin] Template gallery in Micrsft PwerPint 2011: Anther new feature included in Micrsft Office 2011 is the enhanced ability fr users t edit pictures in Wrd, PwerPint, and Excel. In all applicatins, users can insert a picture by clicking Insert n the tlbar, then Picture. After inserting the picture, the Frmat Picture tab will appear n the Ribbn. Users are able t make advanced edits including making crrectins, reclring, applying artistic filters, remving the backgrund, crpping the image, and applying frames and brders. SmartArt is anther feature that has been updated and imprved upn since Office Nw, users are able t insert SmartArt graphics with new styles, designs, and custmizatin ptins in all applicatins. Key features f Outlk include: in ne place Outlk users can btain s frm several inbxes in a single inbx flder. Users can then chse hw t rganize the messages by clicking Arrange by lcated at the tp f the inbx; by accunt, by categry, by date received, etc. T add an accunt, under the Tls menu n the Standard tlbar, select Accunts. Click the + tab and select Exchange t fill ut yur ther accunt infrmatin s it is integrated with Outlk. Creating new items Under the Hme tab, click New. Infrmatin Technlgy Services, UIS 5

Getting rganized by using categries The use f categries is available with many different applicatins thrughut Outlk. Using categries allws users t rganize s, tasks, calendar events, and cntacts int different grups. Anytime yu want t rganize a cntact, event, task, etc. click and highlight what yu wish t rganize and select Categrize. Fr example, click t highlight the cntact yu wish t categrize. 7 [Nt fr Circulatin] Using My Day t track calendar, tasks, and cntacts Under the Tls tab, select My Day. Yur My Day will sync with yur Outlk calendar and tasks. Click the + at the bttm f My Day and easily add tasks. When yu have cmpleted a task, check the bx, and the task will be transferred under the Cmpleted tab. Yur My Day can als be dcked n yur desktp fr use even when yu are nt using Outlk. Click the Wheel icn n the bttm f My Day, and under General, click Shw My Day in Menu Bar and Shw My Day in Dck. 8 [Nt fr Circulatin] What s New in Wrd New features in Wrd 2011 include: Using the Media Brwser. This brwser integrates itself with yur Mac, finding phts frm Pht Bth and ipht, music frm itunes, and vides frm imvie, itunes, and Pht Bth. Yu are able t easily add any f these int yur dcument t create a multimedia experience. T access the Media Brwser, click the Media Brwser icn n the Standard Tlbar. On the Media Brwser, chse frm inserting phts, audi, mvies, clipart, symbls, r shapes. Simply click the image and drag t insert int yur Wrd dcument. Wrking in full screen mde. This new feature allws users t maximize their wrk space while reducing ff-screen distractins that may be ppping up in ther applicatins. 9 [Nt fr Circulatin] By rlling yur muse alng the tp f the dcument, a tlbar will appear that allws yu t make minr edits while wrking in full screen mde withut having t resrt back t the previus screen. T exit ut f full screen mde, rll yur muse alng the tp f the dcument, click Exit, r, simply press the esc key. What s New in PwerPint New features in PwerPint 2011 include: Easily manage layers T rearrange layers, n the tlbar under the Hme tab, click Rerder Objects. Click the layer yu wish t rearrange, and drag it t the apprpriate psitin. When finished making changes, click Ok. Additinal ptins fr editing vides Organizing slides made easy Users have the ability t rganize slides int sectins if wrking with a large amunt f material. 10 [Nt fr Circulatin] Type a name fr the new sectin, and click Rename. Click and drag slides int the apprpriate sectin. Cntinue t add sectins until yu are finished rganizing yur slides. New ptins fr transitins and animatins On the Ribbn, select Transitins r Animatins. Bradcasting yur presentatin live n the web Under the Slide Shw tab alng the ribbn, click Bradcast Shw. Click Cnnect, and then sign in with yur Windws Live ID and Passwrd. What s New in Excel New features in Excel 2011 include: Managing data with Excel tables Under the Tables tab, click New, and then Insert Table with Headers, if yu wish fr yur table t cntain the headers fr yur data, r Insert Table withut Headers, if yu prefer there nt t be any headers. 11 [Nt fr Circulatin] Under Table Styles, select a pattern fr yur table. Click the drpdwn arrw next t the header f the data, and instantly chse srt ptins, r apply filters. Using Sparklines t shw trends Under the Charts tabs, in the Insert Sparklines bx, select a Sparkline yu wish t apply t the highlighted cells. Select the cells in which yu want the Sparkline t appear. Using cnditinal frmatting t display data prfessinally Under the Hme tab, click Cnditinal Frmatting. With cnditinal frmatting, users are able t shw trends and relatinships thrugh using clr scales, icns, data bars, and creating rules. Befre applying cnditinal frmatting, highlight the desired cells.
