25 What is Smart Snacks Policy? USDA has implemented as of July 1, 2014, from the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act 2010 These snacks are usually referred to Competitive Foods Competitive Foods refer to foods SOLD or SERVED outside of the school nutrition program

26 Nutrition Standards Whole Grain Product (animal crackers) First ingredient: Fruit, Vegetable, Dairy Product, Protein Food Combination Food that contains ¼ cup of fruit and/or vegetable Contains 10% of the Daily Value (DV) of one of the nutrients of public health concern in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (Calcium, potassium, Vitamin D, or Dietary Fiber) until July 1, 2016
