1 FARNBOROUGH COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY Governors Skills Audit Governors continue to be faced with new challenges as the College develops its role under the Learning and Skills Council. It is important for the Governing Body to be more than ready to anticipate and to meet those challenges. It is against this background that a skills audit of the Governing Body as a whole and an assessment of training and development requirements are being carried out once again. The form is in two parts:- 1) Current skills (professional expertise and interest) 2) Training needs analysis Please can you fill in both parts of this form and send it back to the Clerk Name Date Page 1

3 2. TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS FOR GOVERNING BODY MEMBERS We are currently considering developing a training programme as we have a number of new governors and a number of vacancies to recruit to. A checklist of areas for which members may feel they require more training is assembled here with reference to good practice generally and good practice at the College. Please tick the box for areas where you feel you would benefit from training. Note that some of the items are more important than others. It is not mandatory for governors to be experts on all the items listed, and some governors will be more familiar with some areas than others.
