4 App Attack $150 Take the first steps into the world of mobile app design and customize your own game app! Using a specialized app & game development tool, students will explore the world of web-based (HTML5) mobile apps. In addition to learning the basics of mobile app design and game development, you will also see firsthand how the world of App publishing functions. Student-created apps will be accessible on a private site and can be played on any mobile device or computer. Publishing to App Stores not included. No prior experience is necessary and students do not need to own a smartphone or tablet to take the class. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages 8-11 and Grade Exploring the World of Art $75 Develop artistic skills and talents for a lifetime of use. Focused heavily on the principle of experiential learning, this class will provide step-by-step guidance through art activities. Students will explore painting, printing, and drawing. This class will provide great introductory tools for new artists while also providing new challenges to the more experienced. Extreme Autobody $99 Students will be able to apply automotive body modification techniques on a demonstration vehicle. They will be able to discuss and determine which modifications they would like to perform. This may include shaving door handles, Frenching in parts or changing the overall shape and profile of a vehicle and its parts. Students may do custom painting if time permits. 4 4
5 Green Thumbs $75 If you love plants and gardening, this class is for you! Learn about our climate zone and simple gardening and xeriscaping techniques. Students will leave with the knowledge and skills to start their very own home gardens. Hip Hop Dance $75 Love to dance? This fun, easy, and upbeat class will combine elements of Zumba and Hip Hop. Students will focus on strength building, flexibility and coordination while developing rhythm and timing to learn basic hip hop dance moves. Dance terminology is presented while dance steps are combined to music. Karate $75 Students will learn the basics of self-defense through the ancient martial arts teachings of KARATE. Students will learn confidence and discipline while developing balance, coordination and flexibility. 1-3 Grade Kids in the Kitchen $125 If you ever wanted to learn about cooking, this is your chance! This class will cover basic cooking skills, basic food preparation, plate presentation and safe food handling. Kids will be helping to create a different menu each of the five days to make a variety of yummy dishes and desserts. Kids can share the recipes with their families at the end of the week when they bring home a special cookbook created for them. Students must wear closed toe shoes and long pants 9 am - 12 pm 5
6 Make Your First Video Game $150 If you love playing video games, this is the camp for you! Make your first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2D platformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, challenge levels, graphics, sounds, and simple coding are just some of the concepts that we ll explore. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to have fun. Student created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Games are only compatible on PC computers, Mac versions can be created after the program for $15.00 conversion fee. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages: 8-11 and Grade Minecraft Designers $150 If you love the game Minecraft, but always wanted to design your own characters and buildings for your games, this class is for you! Learn the basics of creating 3D models using a new software to design your very own objects, create skins for characters, and import them into your favorite Minecraft games. To access their project at home students, must own a PC/MAC version of Minecraft. Tablet, phone, and game console version of Minecraft are not compatible. A parent address is required to use 3D modeling software. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages: 8-11 and Minecraft Modders $150 Use your favorite game to learn the basics of modding and foundations of programming. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mod! Introductory coding will also be taught through a simulated environment inspired by Minecraft. Student projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. To access their project at home students must own a PC/MAC version of Minecraft. Tablet, phone, and game console version of Minecraft are not compatible. 7 Ooey Gooey Science Stuff $99 This class will be fun, hands on activities and experiments that allow you to get dirty while you learn! We will be doing ooey gooey experiments so come join the fun! June 27- July 1 Outdoor Adventures $99 Connect with the outdoors through creative, active, and meaningful experiences in nature. This program is designed to inspire a sense of wonder, instill a sense of place, and engage youth in environmental action. Youth will also learn basic navigation, hiking and safety skills, and earth stewardship. Robotics $99 Hands on! Learn the basic principles of cars and other vehicles. You will work together in teams of two and build, test, design, and program your small car or bot, using easy technology from Legos. 1-3 Grade Weather Science $99 Investigate the science behind weather with fun activities! Students will learn about snow, rain, and wind through observation and experiments. From building a weathervane to making a cloud, your students will enjoy learning about earth science in this course. Yummy Anytime Snacks $125 Kids cooking programs are a fantastic way to get interested and even excited about healthy foods. In this class Kids have the opportunity to create healthy snacks that teach them while they learn important math and reading skills as they follow recipes and measure ingredients. Children also learn about food safety skills and about nutrition and healthy choices in a very fun, interactive way. Don t worry, there will be cupcakes too! Students must wear closed toe shoes and long pants. 7
8 3D Video Game $150 Try this new version of a Black Rocket classic! This class allows you to develop a game concept that goes well beyond the limitations of the traditional 2D game design classes. Students will learn the physics behind 3D games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, controlling flow of gameplay, and storytelling. Student created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages: 8-11 and Art of Welding $125 This class will introduce safety in welding and an introduction to welding equipment; followed by hands-on practice in the cutting and welding process. You will fabricate an art project to take home at the end of the week. A welding waiver form and release must be signed by parent or guardian for this class. 4-6 Grade Automotive Sculptures $99 If Old McDonald had a Garage! Students will get to use old car parts destined for the scrap yard and turn them into astonishing animal sculptures. Children get to use their creativity and hands to build unique designs while learning about automotive components and assembly. 8 8
9 Automotive Gear Heads $99 In this course students will gain a basic understanding of component identification and operation. They will disassemble an automotive engine, identify the parts and discover what makes it run. Students will also learn about diagnosing problems and vehicle preventive maintenance Babysitting Training $99 Build your babysitting business and become a PCC Certified Babysitter! Parents will have confidence that their children are well cared for by a babysitter they can trust. You will learn what to do in case of an emergency and how to understand caring for children in difficult situations. Learn fun activities that will keep the children in your care happy and excited to see you come back! DIY Science $99 From candy glass to edible bubbles, students will put their chemistry knowledge to the test. Students will participate in an interactive class full of hands-on activities to explore chemical concepts by experimenting with everyday items like sugar, baking powder and gelatin. Come and learn the importance of chemistry in your everyday life with these fun experiments. Exploring the World of Art $75 Develop artistic skills and talents for a lifetime of use. 10 Geo Cache Me if You Can! $99 Do you wonder about the satellites that circle the earth and how they can help us find things? Do you know what GPS is and how to use it? During this camp you will have fun exploring geospatial sciences from simple geocaching (using GPS receivers to look for hidden treasure boxes all around the world) to complex community mapping projects. You will learn how to use the Global Positioning System (GPS) to collect spatial data and plot results on detailed maps using Google Earth. A separate field trip form must also be signed by parents for this class. In partnership with CSU Extension. Hip Hop Dance $75 Love to dance? This class will be fun, easy, and upbeat. 11 Minecraft Animators $150 Bring your favorite Minecraft characters to life in an animated short film! Learn how studios like Pixar and Disney make movies like Inside Out and Frozen by using techniques like keyframing, tweening, texturing, and animating rigged 3D models! Student projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. You do not need to own a Minecraft account to use the software in this class. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Ages: 8-11 and Minecraft Designers $150 If you love the game Minecraft, but always wanted to design your own characters and buildings for your games, this class is for you! You will work together in teams of two and build, test, design, and program your small car or bot, using easy technology from Legos. SnapIt! $75 Enter the world of digital photography. This course will allow students to explore their own personal photographic vision and create a portfolio of original photographs. Students will learn and investigate a variety of photographic processes, techniques and styles. Students will need to bring their own digital camera. Yummy Anytime Snacks $125 Kids cooking programs are a fantastic way to get interested and even excited about healthy foods. In this class Kids have the opportunity to create healthy snacks that teach them while they learn important math and reading skills as they follow recipes and measure ingredients. DROP OFF AND PICK UP The best location to drop off and pick up your child is the back parking lot of the Mike Davis Academic Building; this is the building where most classes are held. The parking lot is located behind the AB building on Arthur Street next to the tennis courts. Pueblo Corporate College will have staff directing students and signs will be posted. If you are going to be late picking your child up, please contact (PCC) at (719) so your child can wait in our office. The office is located in the Gorsich Building Room 201B. If your child will be walking home for lunch or after class, our office needs a note stating: where they are walking, the name of the person s house they are walking to, and that person s phone number.
