2 Spanish A1 FSSA1 (semester course) This course is offered in each semester. This course is taught as a weekly course in the afternoons during the semester. Regular attendance is required in all courses. ECTS Points 4 This course is on level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF): Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. Prerequisites none The course is taught by both staff and adjunct instructors. The grade given in this course is based on a 120-minute final examination including listening comprehension at the end of the semester. Describing places giving directions expressing likes and dislikes food and drink, at the restaurant asking for the time, telling the time asking for and giving opening hours. 4 Spanish A2 FSSA2 (semester course) or FSA2S (two-week pre-term course) This course is offered in each semester. ECTS Points This course is taught both as a two-week intensive course during the lecture-free period and as a weekly course in the afternoons during the regular semester. The curriculum for intensive courses and extensive courses is identical. Regular attendance is required in all courses. 4 Prerequisites This course is on level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF): Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. CEF level A1 The course is taught by both staff and adjunct instructors. The grade given in this course is based on a 120-minute final examination including listening comprehension at the end of the semester. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. Prerequisites CEF level B1.2 The course is taught by both staff and adjunct instructors. The grade given in this course is based on an in-class presentation and a 120-minute final examination including listening comprehension at the end of the semester. Course books are often used, at the discretion of the instructor. In this course all four skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) are practiced. Grammar is reviewed if necessary. 11 Español Profesional B2 FSSB2P (semester course) This course is not offered in each semester. This course is taught as a weekly course in the afternoons during the regular semester. Regular attendance is required in all courses. Regular attendance is required in all courses. ECTS Points 2 This course is on level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF): Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
