1 Job Title: Cashier Supervisor Work Schedule: Varied Location: Farm Operations Center Department: 105- Accounting Exemption Status: Exempt Grade: 20* Salary Range: $ DOE Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Controller Summaries of Duties and Responsibilities The position was created to provide supervision and support to the Cashiers who record all sales transactions of NAPI products and any NAPI related sales, especially sales at R2 Scale House and Farm Operations Scale (371) and all NAPI related sales events i.e. Potato Bar, Fairs, etc. Shared Responsibilities: Support the mission, vision, and goal of Navajo Agricultural Products Industry. Support excellence in our customer service philosophy. Adheres to all company polices and procedures. Follow safety guidelines and participate in trainings. Practice good stewardship of NAPI property and follow policy. Act in a professional manner at all times. Function from INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and LOYALTY in all activities concerning NAPI. Follow the current NAPI Strategic Plan initiatives. Maintain a team environment with other departments. Champion NAPI in the community. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions 1. This position requires performing all functions related to NAPI products sales along with any additional NAPI related sales as for Navajo Pride products and promotional items as needed. 2. Supervision of at least two full time and one or two seasonal, based on operational demands, cashiers, including work schedules, assignments, training, etc. 3. Trains all cashiers with security, cash handling, customer service, etc. including annual trainings as it relates to the responsibilities of this position with collaboration from Human Resources and/or the Accounting

2 department. 4. Oversees the operation of large truck scales used for recording weights and measures at R2 Scale and Farm Operations Scale (371) as it relates to sales and transportation of NAPI products, including Axel-out semitrailers according to the Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations. 5. Manages the daily sales, schedules, operations of designated areas and works with crop managers to the benefit of the NAPI operations. 6. Maintains record weights, identifies customer, driver and/or truck number, identifies product on a scale ticket. 7. Responsible for maintaining good cash handling procedures and internal controls involving all sales transactions. 8. Responsible for NAPI related sales events i.e. Potato Bar, Fairs, etc. and to coordinated with managers those events, including tracking inventory, sales, etc. 9. Responsible for the daily deposits, petty cash including security and safeguarding all monetary instruments as they relate to this position. 10. Assists in preparing receiving ticket or Bill of Lading forms and insuring that scale clerk/cashiers enters all transactional documentation into the Famous Software or Summit Software systems daily. 11. Records all sales and receives an exchange in the form of cash, checks, credit/debit card or on account from customers as those transactions occur. 12. Coordinates with Accounting on daily sales, change orders, shipping records, etc., including all end of day discrepancies i.e. overages/shortages. 13. Verifies that all records incoming and outgoing inventory is accurate to maintain completeness of records. 14. Verifies that all daily paperwork regarding balancing of cash to sales is accurate and all reports of sales transactions with the necessary paperwork are delivered to the Accounting daily. 15. Maintains product inventories accurately to ensure that deliveries and sales demand are met. 16. Understands the quality of products and standards to meet market acceptance. 17. Coordinates shipping and receiving schedules as needed with the crop managers. 18. Follows set contingency plans for power outages, robbery, etc. as outlined in accordance with Safety. 19. Demonstrates excellent customer service and promotes Navajo Pride products.

3 20. Attends staff meetings as required. 21. Maintains an organized scale house and/or area as for being clean and neat along with providing a welcoming atmosphere to NAPI customers. 22. Supports all NAPI employees in a team effort. 23. Reports to the Controller all issues regarding the security of cash, facilities, personnel, etc. immediately. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge: This job requires a High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence). Associates Degree in Accounting or Business is necessary but at least 5 yrs of accounting, business and/or supervision can be substituted. Valid Drivers License is required, with good driving record. Must be able to pass the required background check as it relates to bonding and security regarding cash handling. At least 2 years of experience as a supervisor dealing with sales, cash handling and customer service. Agriculture experience is useful but not required. Ability to use a computer, especially with Microsoft Windows 2003/2007 suite products - Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook programs is required. Ability to use search engines, data queries, and assimilate printed information is especially helpful. Ability to speak and deal with the public especially with sales and customer service is required. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing English. Navajo: Helpful Spanish: Helpful Ability to operate basic office equipment i.e. ten-key calculator, cash register, computer, printer, fax machine, copier and telephone is required. Ability to operate a two-way radio and a large truck scale is essential but not required for this position. Ability to function with minimal supervision, including the potential of working additional hours as needed. Must be able to demonstrate good leadership and management skills.
