Follow the instructions below when ordering a new controller. Warning Before starting work on the cabinets, pumps, bypass valve, etc., switch off the power supply. Lock the main switch with a padlock to ensure that the power supply cannot be accidentally switched on. 3.1 Controller overview Fig. 1 Inputs and outputs underneath the controller Pos. You will receive a serial number with the new controller. Keep it as you will have to place it on the new controller. 3.3 Removing the old controller Tools 2.5 mm hexagon key cross-head screwdriver Procedure 1. Write down the location of each cable to ensure correct connection to the new controller. 2. Disconnect all cables from the controller. 3. Remove the controller from the front panel using the hexagon key. 4. Open the micro SD cover using the screwdriver and remove the micro SD card. Save it for the new ordered controller. The micro SD card contains the Grundfos firmware. 5. Remove the USB stick, if any, and save it. 3.4 Installing the new controller Tools 2.5 mm hexagon key cross-head screwdriver Procedure 1. Place the serial number that you have received on the back of the new controller. 2. Open the micro SD card cover using the screwdriver and replace the micro SD card with the micro SD card saved from the previous controller. 3. Fit the controller on the front panel using the hexagon key. 4. Connect the power supply cable. The new controller is now installed and ready for configuration. TM

3 4. Configuring the new controller The configuration of the new controller consists of three steps: 1. Find the IP and AMS address of the new controller. 2. Activate the InduSoft licence. 3. Enter the new AMS address in the settings menu. 4.1 Finding the IP address and AMS address of the new controller Warning Before switching the power supply on, make sure that all chillers, pumps and air-handling zones have been switched off. Make sure that the system selector switch on the main cabinet is set to "Off". You can find the IP and AMS address in three ways: 1. Using the controller display. 2. Using the software TwinCAT from a computer connected to the controller via an ethernet cable. 3. Using the software CERHOST from a remote computer. This method is only useful when you are to find the AMS address as it requires that you know the IP address Using the controller display 1. Press the clock in the bottom left corner of the display Using TwinCAT 1. Go to and download the latest version of TwinCAT 2. You can use the search field or the "Download" menu. Note: Downloading this software requires that you register on the website. 2. Install TwinCAT 2 on your computer. 3. Connect your computer to the LAN port of the new controller via an ethernet cable. See pos. 3 in fig Switch on the power supply to start the controller. 5. Start TwinCAT "System manager": Start TwinCAT. Right-click the TwinCAT icon on the task bar and select [System manager]. 6. Click [Choose target] under "System - Configuration". English (GB) TM Click [Search Ethernet]. TM Press [CX Configuration]. 8. Click [Broadcast Search]. TM Write down the IP address and "Ams Net Id" (AMS address). TM TM TM If the controller does not appear in the list, set an automatic IP address on your computer and disable your firewall. See sections 6.1 Setting an automatic IP address and 6.2 Disabling the Windows Firewall. 3

4 English (GB) 9. Select the controller in the list. Write down the "Address Info" (IP address) and the "AmsNetId" (AMS address). 6. Click the clock in the bottom left corner of the display Using CERHOST from a remote computer The controller must be connected to an internet access point via an ethernet cable. Use the LAN port. See pos. 3, fig. 1. Accessing the controller with a remote computer requires that you know the IP address or the name of the controller on the network. 1. Go to and download CERHOST. 2. Install CERHOST on your computer. 3. Start CERHOST. 4. Click [File] [Connect]. TM Double-click [CX Configuration]. TM Write down the IP address and Ams Net Id (AMS address). 5. In the field "Hostname", enter the IP address or the name of the controller. TM TM TM You have now access to the controller display and can control it remotely. 4

5 4.2 Activating the InduSoft license Activating the InduSoft license requires that you know the IP address of the controller. See section 4.1 Finding the IP address and AMS address of the new controller. 1. Go to and download InduSoft Web Studio 7.1. Note: Downloading this software requires that you register on the website. The software is free of charge for 40 hours. 2. Install the software on your computer. 3. Start the software. 4. Click [Home] [Connect]. 7. Click [Embedded license]. TM English (GB) 8. Copy the site code and send it in an to together with the serial number that you received by letter. Beckhoff will send you an with the site key. 5. In the field "Host", enter the IP address of the new controller. 6. Click [Connect]. 9. Enter the site key in the field "Remote License Activation". 10. Click [Send]. Your license is now activated. 11. Click [OK] and close all windows. 12. Switch off the power supply. 13. Disconnect the ethernet cable and connect all the other cables to the controller. 14. 6 English (GB) 4.3 Setting the new AMS address in the controller 1. Press [Settings] [Communication channels]. 2. Enter the AMS address of the new controller. 3. Press [Save]. Your new controller is now ready to be configured according to your system. Use the installation and operating instructions delivered with your Control HVAC. You can also use the URL or QR code below to download the installation and operating instructions on your computer. QR TM

7 5. Fault finding the product Warning Before starting work on the cabinets, pumps, bypass valve, etc., make sure that the power supply has been switched off. Lock the main switch with a padlock to ensure that the power supply cannot be accidentally switched on. English (GB) Fault Cause Remedy 1. My PC does not appear in the list in TwinCAT System Manager. 2. I cannot find the site code. a) Your PC has a fixed IP address. Set an automatic IP address on your PC. See section 6.1 Setting an automatic IP address. b) Your firewall does not allow access from the controller. Disable your firewall. See section 6.2 Disabling the Windows Firewall. a) You have not received the letter from Beckhoff. If you have just received the new controller, wait a couple of days for the letter. If you have not received the letter after a couple of days, contact Beckhoff. 3. I cannot find the site key. a) You have not requested the site key. Send an to support@beckhoff.dk with your site code. Beckhoff will send you an with the site key. 7

8 English (GB) 6. Appendix 6.1 Setting an automatic IP address 1. Click [Control Panel] [Network and Sharing Center] [Change adapter settings]. 2. Double-click [Local area connections]. 3. Click [Properties] [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)]. 4. Click the [Alternate Configuration] tab and select "Automatic private IP address". 5. Click [OK] and close all windows. 6.2 Disabling the Windows Firewall 1. Click the [Windows] button. 2. Open the program "Services" by typing "services" in the search field. 3. Find "Windows Firewall" in the list. Right-click and select "Stop". TM TM Subject to alterations. 8
