3 SERIES 3: YUKON GAME BRANCH INTRODUCTION Files in Series 3 are the records of the Game Branch and pertain to wildlife management in the Yukon Territory from Series 3 was stored in the first Yukon Government Record Centre located in the basement of the Casca Building in Whitehorse. These files were turned up during the first Yukon Government Records Management Inventory Program conducted during the early 1970 s. Some of the file numbers in this series reflect the central registry numbering system while others reflect a new numbering system employed by the Game Branch. This new numbering system was probably instituted because the Game Branch was housed apart from other Yukon Territorial Government offices in the T.C. Richards Building from the s until 1976 when the new Yukon Government Building was opened. Subjects covered in Series 3 include: monthly reports from fisheries inspectors, game file correspondence, game hunters licenses, muskrat farming, returns by game guardians, guides, etc., Yukon trapping licenses, wolf and coyote bounty, fisheries regulations, buffalo reserve, leasing of land for fur farming, appointment of game officers, Yukon Fish and Game Association, migratory bird regulations, permits to set out poison, big game hunters in the Yukon Territory, and other miscellaneous files.
