Students gain more than 200 hours of OMM experience in our DO program. 1

By way of example, consider our on-site Objective Structured Clinical Experience (OSCE) lab, where our students learn first-hand about patient interaction by working with actors and professional patients while faculty observe (via closed-circuit camera) as they practice actual physical exams. We continually search for creative ways to further your success. This includes our extensive online medical library, an Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine classroom, and a gross anatomy lab (in an age when many universities only offer a virtual one). We also make all lectures available as downloadable video, provide comprehensive COMLEX exam preparation with our expert faculty, and offer a breadth of local rotations as well as many around the country. In fact, we pride ourselves on our expansive roster of elective rotations, which gives you the ability to select your specific area of interest. Touro is filled with individuals who want me to succeed not only as a student but also as a husband and father. The faculty understand the unique demands of a student with a family and go above and beyond to support my dream of becoming a doctor. The TUN campus facility is open to all students from 6 a.m. until 2 a.m. That means nearly round-the-clock access and fellowship enhanced by the peace of mind you get from a campus with 24/7 on-site security. You ll find areas to congregate, study, and relax as well. There is a gymnasium and basketball court along with a fitness center. We also have private study rooms and a library with full online access 24/7. And for those students who want to stay connected, we offer campus-wide internet. In the three years I ve spent at Touro, I have seen an administration that is always willing to listen to student input and to make adjustments to help us succeed. I am truly grateful for the supportive community that has become my osteopathic family. The TUN campus was opened as an answer to the area s need for greater access to health care. As a student, you ll be an integral part of that important work. In the true spirit of osteopathic medicine, Touro offers students a variety of ways to give back to the community. The Caring Without Walls program focuses on preventive care by providing free health screenings to underserved populations throughout Southern Nevada. Our students alongside faculty also provide free care at medical clinics in local homeless shelters, provide medical screenings at numerous community events, and offer services at TUN s annual Health Fair. Our campus is home to Nevada s only dedicated diagnostic and treatment center for children with autism and developmental disabilities, and we also have a multi-specialty patient clinic staffed by faculty physicians. You ll also have a wealth of opportunities to volunteer through the many student clubs and organizations that strengthen our campus and the community. Leadership through service is essential to the TUN mission, which means a significant portion of your classwork will stitch you into the fabric of the community.
