1 Chapter 20: Rendering Launch MasterChef from the icon on your desktop. Note: If you are using a demo version, once loaded the program, a message will notify the remaining days of the evaluation period. If you are in possession of the licence of the software, make sure you have inserted and installed the USB hardware key that came with the licence to use the software. From the main screen of the PDM module of MasterChef you double-click on the plan using the menu on the left side or the the central grid part containing the list of projects already created. Pag. 1

2 This will open the tab for the selected plant in which you can view the documents it contains. In our case we will find the DWG file of our project. Select the document to open DWG and you double click on it to open the file in the CAD environment. Pag. 2

3 By clicking on the label at the bottom, go now to paper space A0, to see the layout you have created earlier. Start the command 2D/3D VIEWS from the toolbar of MasterChef. In the new toolpalette the command 2D / 3D VIEWS has the following icon: Select now PRESPECTIVE or CAMERA. Note: In the version for AutoCAD is also possible to use the command inner chamber of AutoCAD instead of MasterChef camera. If you wish to use the setting "Use internal chamber" and set the size of the lens. Set: Height (from the ground): 1500 mm Distance: 1X Note: You can change later the position of the camera using the 3D ORBIT command. Click OK and insert the perspective view, under the previously created technical legend, defining the two opposite corners of the rectangle. Pag. 3

4 Temporarily will be displayed the plan view of the project and will be asked to define the insertion point of the camera and its orientation. Place the camera in the room, and point towards the cooking zone as shown below. MasterChef will automatically create the view inside the rectangle. Pag. 4

5 Use the command LIST LAYERS to freeze the layer 200-EquipID-2D. In this way in the photorealistic view will not appear the position ID of the equipment. Note: Remember to thaw the layer after you've finished the rendering. Now perform a double click in the perspective view you just created to make it active. If the point of view does is not satisfying you can use the "3D Orbit" command from the toolbar Shadow of MasterChef. In the new toolpalette the command 3D Orbit has the following icon: Use the command ZOOM, PAN and 3D ORBIT to change the position of the camera. Pag. 5

6 Now use the command AUTOMATIC RENDER from the toolbar of MasterChef. In the new toolpalette the command AUTOMATIC RENDER has the following icon: The following message will appear: By clicking on OK, MasterChef will automatically move in model space to allow you to identify the area where to place the lights. Draw a rectangle that includes the cooking area. Then specify the height of the ceiling in the command line, so that MasterChef inserts the lights: Roof height: 3000 mm Pag. 6

7 Press ENTER to confirm. In your project will appear the symbols of the lights. MasterChef will return to the paper spce to create the rendering inside the views window. Pag. 7

8 You can change the materials to be used in render by clicking on the command "AUTOMATIC MATERIAL ASSIGNMENT". In the new toolpalette the command "AUTOMATIC MATERIAL ASSIGNMENT" has the following icon: A window appears where you can define which materials will be assigned to each layer used in the project. There is available an association of default called Ambient MSC4.mra. You can modify the associations by selecting the layer name in the list on the left. Select the layer of the walls such as WALLS 3D : 400-Walls-3D. In the central part is identified type of material used. Select WALL WHITE BUMP. Finally in the lower right corner you can choose the size of the map to identify the level of material definition: leave set 30x30x30. Click on OK to confirm and return to the drawing. MasterChef will search the layers used in the drawing and will try to associate the materials. Note: If a layer has never been used in the drawing, will not be displayed in the command of Materials Association. Pag. 8

9 Double click to activate the perspective view and restart the Render command. We remind you that to print the view in render mode you have to set the properties of the view: Print shadow: Render Insert an other perspective view under the one you ve just created inserting the camera in a different spot and repeat the command Render without re-associating the materials.
