3 SECTION 100: PUBLIC RELATIONS POLICY 2

4 Section 100 Public Relations Policy At Movement Mortgage, we have a reputation of providing excellent, professional service and we enjoy the strong relationships we have built as a result. Our products, programs and initiatives are of interest to business partners, potential borrowers and the community at large. Additionally, news media is frequently interested in Movement Mortgage and its people, and we recognize the important role of the media as a communication channel with the public. We have a responsibility to be open and responsive to their requests for information. Section 101 Purpose This policy exists to assure that information disclosed by Movement Mortgage is accurate, comprehensive, compliant, authoritative and relevant. Adherence to this policy provides an effective framework to facilitate the timely dissemination of information, and to ensure excellence in our media appearances and outreach efforts Section 102 Scope All news media, press releases and related inquiries and requests must adhere to this policy and these procedures. This media policy applies to all employees of Movement Mortgage, the Movement Foundation, Movement Insurance, and all related divisions and subsidiaries. This policy covers all external news media including broadcast, electronic, print, press releases and related media. 3

6 Section 200 Public Relations Procedures Section 201 General Information The Movement Mortgage public relations staff will respond promptly, courteously and professionally to requests from members of the news media. Movement Mortgage expects members of the news media to conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner, and the company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to break off contact with news media representatives who fail to adhere to these expectations. A reporter, producer or other news media individual may contact Movement staff directly for a number of reasons, including but not limited to information or comment about an action or event that could impact our company or industry, our competitors, product or platform changes, and changes in government or company policies. In these instances, you should apply the same courtesy and professionalism with which we approach our customers. Keep in mind that the way this interaction is handled may be the reporter s first impression of Movement Mortgage and that first impression may end up in a published story or news segment broadcast. Everything you say and do may be observed and reported to the public by the media representative. Section 202 Responding to inquiries from the media Step Action 1 Respond promptly to media requests to ensure that reporters deadlines are met. Employ the following verbiage: Movement Mortgage s policy is to refer all media inquiries to Public Relations. You can reach them at press@movement.com. Refrain from saying that you are not allowed to speak with the media or that you require permission to speak with the media. 2 Direct all media inquiries that do not come directly to Public Relations to this team by providing the following address: press@movement.com 3 Follow up with Public Relations each time you are approached by the media, even if you have supplied the media contact with the press@movement.com address. Section 203 Seeking media coverage and press releases Be aware that some news items may be more appropriate for internal publicity, such as the publication on the Movement Mortgage Hub or other forms of employee communications. For news that potentially merits external coverage, follow the procedures below. Step Action 1 Contact Public Relations via press@movement.com if you believe you have a positive and newsworthy story to share with the public. 2 Do not call a reporter directly without first consulting with Public Relations. Public Relations is the only department authorized to distribute Movement Mortgage press releases, pitch coverage of particular events or hold news conferences. Public Relations will work with you to gather information and determine if and how the news media should be contacted and if a press release is merited. 5

7 Section 204 Requests for photographs and filming opportunities Be aware that a reporter or camera crew may show up unannounced at the facility. In these instances, act with the same courtesy and professionalism as expected with customers. Contact Public Relations immediately via press@movement.com and inform them of the situation. Be aware too that Movement Mortgage cannot prevent filming or photographing of common areas outside of Movement facilities. Examples include public parking lots, courtyards and walkways. However, if you believe a media outlet is taking photos or filming a Movement office or event, please notify Public Relations by sending an to press@movement.com. For photography inquiries, follow the procedure below.
