2 Nissan s Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty Program Introduction: Nissan s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Limited Warranty has been designed to provide preowned Nissan vehicles with superior mechanical protection and service. Backed by Nissan North America, this limited warranty provides coverage for over 600 components for up to 7 years from the original in-service date or 100,000 total vehicle miles, whichever comes first. Comprehensive customer benefits include: Emergency Roadside Assistance, towing assistance and trip interruption for the duration of the warranty. The most critical aspect to maintaining high standards for our certified vehicles is you, the Nissan dealer. It s imperative that you follow all procedures, including; the Certified Pre- Owned Inspection Checklist, conduct all necessary vehicle reconditioning and represent the warranty properly. Dealer Agreement: A Dealer Participation Agreement must be on file with Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) before a dealer can begin certifying Nissan vehicles. As noted on the agreement, Certified Pre- Owned Nissan vehicles can ONLY be sold by Authorized Nissan dealerships at their Authorized location of record. 3 Purpose of CPO Dealer Participation Agreement: As set forth in the Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Limited Warranty Process Guide, the Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program (CPO Program) has been designed to offer preowned Nissan vehicles to consumers that meet Nissan s high mechanical and safety standards. Both Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) and the consumer rely upon you, the dealer, to properly certify only those eligible vehicles that meet those rigorous standards. In connection with the CPO Program, participating dealers are required to sign the CPO Dealer Participation Agreement, in which they acknowledge the requirements of the CPO Program, and agree to abide by them. The Dealer s understanding of the terms and conditions under which vehicles are to be certified, and its commitment to comply with those terms and conditions as a condition of certifying vehicles for the benefit of consumers on behalf of NNA, is a critical element of the CPO Program. Once the Dealer Participation Agreement is on file with NNA, your dealership may then begin certifying Nissan vehicles. *Certified Pre-Owned Nissan vehicles can ONLY be sold by an Authorized Nissan dealership at their Authorized location of record. The Steps to Pre-Owned Vehicle Certification Introduction For a vehicle to be eligible for CPO, it must successfully complete the Vehicle Certification process. The Nissan Pre-Owned Certification process is a multiple-step procedure for preowned Nissan vehicles. This process certifies that each vehicle meets the high mechanical and safety standards required for Nissan Certified Pre-owned vehicles. Vehicles that Qualify for Certification: The vehicle must pass the CARFAX vehicle history report The vehicle must be no more than 60 months from the original in-service date and have less than 60,000 miles on the odometer The vehicle must be at least 6 months old from the original in-service date The vehicle must have been originally distributed by Nissan North America, Inc. The vehicle must be sold through a Nissan dealer The vehicle must be inspected in accordance with the Nissan Pre-Owned Inspection Checklist Vehicles retired from the Nissan Rental Car Program Vehicles that Do Not Qualify for Certification: Vehicles that have been issued a salvage title Vehicles with frame/unibody damage Vehicles that at anytime were determined to be a total loss by an insurance company or their adjusters Vehicles that do not meet time and/or mileage parameters Vehicles that have suffered flood damage Vehicles that have had any new car warranty invalidated Vehicles being actively used as dealership loaner cars under the Nissan Rental Car Program

4 Vehicles that have ever been used for commercial purposes (e.g. taxi) Vehicles distributed by distributors other than Nissan North America, Inc. (Guam, Canada, Puerto Rico, etc) Vehicles that have any modification, additions, alterations, aftermarket parts that affect safety, performance, emissions or use of the vehicle. For example but not limited to: Racing or performance parts/modifications, ECM Re-programming, aftermarket seat covers, lift kids, under or oversized wheels, audio/electrical system changes Vehicle Acquisition 1. Run and Print SERVICE COMM: Service COMM allows you to confirm these vehicle eligibility requirements: A. Document the in-service date (no more than 5 years from the original in-service date) B. Confirm the vehicle does not have any warranty exclusions C. Confirm all service campaigns and recalls have been completed D. Vehicle must have been distributed by Nissan North America A A NISSAN Dealer B C

5 Please note only vehicles distributed by Nissan North America are eligible. The only warning on Service Comm of a foreign-distributed vehicle is a BLANK section for selling dealer and PDI date as shown below. Run and Print CARFAX Vehicle History Report: Confirm clean title and vehicle history through CARFAX link on Dealer Portal (NNAnet) Confirm eligible model, model year & mileage requirements (no more than 60,000 miles) Green = ELIGIBLE (passes vehicle history requirements) Red X = NOT ELIGIBLE (does not pass vehicle history and is ineligible for CPO)

6 Vehicle Inspection/Repair/Reconditioning 1. Nissan Technician conducts vehicle inspection using Certified Pre-Owned Checklist 2. Used Car Manager authorizes repairs and reconditioning 3. Nissan Technician performs all necessary repairs/adjustments and signs the inspection checklist 4. Service Manager confirms all repairs have been completed and signs the inspection checklist IMPORTANT: A copy of the completed Certified Pre-Owned Inspection Checklist must be maintained in the Vehicle History File and be available for audit. If the form is missing, your dealership may incur Warranty Claim chargebacks. Dealer must retain all notes, readings, Consult printouts and repairs performed. Expiration of Inspection: 90 days from the date of initial inspection/500 miles Vehicle Detail and Prep 1. Detail Department cleans and preps vehicle for front-line, as per the inspection checklist 2. Detail Department applies Nissan Certified point-of-purchase materials 3. Used Car Manager confirms all detail and appearance items and signs the inspection checklist Apply Warranty and Advertise Vehicles 1. Used Car Manager flags the vehicle as Certified in dealer s inventory system If the dealer is enrolled with DMI, CPO vehicles will be forwarded to our marketing websites Dealer has the option to push vehicle data to DMI using a 3 rd party or allow DMI access Flagged CPO vehicles will be forwarded to CARFAX reporting site on the NNAnet Dealer Portal CARFAX@NNAnet site is required to complete registration form, activate warranty, add optional Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan (Wrap) and report the sale of CPO vehicles.

7 Vehicle Sale/F&I on 1. CARFAX site on NNAnet Dealer Portal will be pre-populated with your CPO vehicles (vins & stock numbers) by DMI or you can add CPO vins manually. 2. Complete the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Registration form on-line 3. If applicable, add a Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan (Wrap) 4. Report CPO vehicle sold and print CARFAX Buy Back Guarantee. This action: Sends the CPO warranty registration for NNA verification Sends the applicable Extended Protection Plans (Wrap) for NNA verification Activates the Buy Back Guarantee Activates the billing process for the CPO warranty fee Customer Delivery 1. Customer must receive the following documents upon delivery: Copy of Warranty Registration Form Copy of Certified Inspection Checklist Copy of CARFAX Vehicle History Report and Buy Back Guarantee CPO Warranty Booklet and envelope 2. Customer will receive confirmation via mail of warranty activation NMAC Funding 1. NMAC funding simply requires a copy of the special CARFAX Buy Back Guarantee. 2. Please note: Nissan has an exclusive CARFAX Buy Back Guarantee (3 years) for Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, and only a copy of the 3 year CARFAX Buy Back Guarantee will be accepted for funding.
