In addition to cost-optimized network designs, Planet Design can model and predict end-to-end latency across multiple network layers by taking into account the distances between nodes and the type of processing taking place along planned routes. Planet Design can auto-generate a complete network bill of materials (BOM) that includes equipment configuration and installation checklists. Network designs can be also be uploaded to Planet Operate to allow seamless migration from the network design to operation. Furthermore, Planet Design integrates with Google Maps to illustrate the location of network nodes and enable sales prospecting with local businesses. Planet Design is optimized for planning and designing multi-layer networks based on the Cyan Z-Series packet-optical transport platforms (P-OTPs). Over time, applications will be extended to support Blue Orbit partner equipment and other third-party devices. Key Features and Benefits Multi-layer network planning delivers performance- and cost-optimized network design. Cloud-based, point-and-click interface simplifies the planning process. Analyzes end-to-end latency across multiple network layers. Auto-generates a complete BOM to accelerate the deployment of new services. 4 Planet Operate The Planet Operate application includes a revolutionary multi-layer management system providing conventional FCAPS functionality in addition to more advanced capabilities such as 3D visualization and multi-vendor support to simplify network configuration, monitoring, fault resolution, and operation. Through the integration of object-based intelligence based on TMF MTNM and ITU G.800 modeling principles, Planet Operate delivers a unique awareness of service and transport layers, nodes and connections, as well as their interdependencies. The advanced 3D visualization provided by Blue Planet, combined with the ability to virtualize network views based on customer, service type, market/region or other factors, deliver a unified and user-friendly view to simplify network management and accelerate the introduction of new services. The robust Blue Planet architecture scales in a distributed and highly-available manner to support large networks consisting of thousands of Z-Series platforms and other network elements supporting tens of thousands of services. Network Visualization Blue Planet s 3D visualization capabilities at the network- and node-level help network operators better understand line card and shelf associations at the node level, as well as which ports or paths are in service or on standby at the network level. The visual display gives users a broader perspective of the network, boosting confidence in the accuracy of configurations and reducing errors when making additions or changes. Key Features and Benefits Multi-layer management simplifies network operations to accelerate the introduction of new services and lower costs. Advanced user interface with 3D visualization provides more intuitive visibility and control. Multi-layer fault correlation enables faster problem resolution and improves service availability. Multi-vendor alarm and topology management for Blue Orbit partners and other third-party products. The trail analyzer application shows physical and logical linkages between nodes. 5 Planet View The Planet View application includes groundbreaking SLA verification and analytics instruments for carrier Ethernet networks. Planet View provides proactive SLA monitoring and web portal-based reporting in multi-vendor networks for service providers and their customers. By simplifying SLA compliance management and verification, Blue Planet allows service providers to deliver differentiated Ethernet services that enhance the customer experience and increase revenues. Real-time and historical analytics of network parameters and thresholdcrossing events enables service providers and customers to analyze trends, perform capacity planning, improve network availability and more. Enhanced Visibility Planet View provides customized performance monitoring portals for individual end-customers or internal users. Real-time and historical service performance data is presented in Planet View, which utilizes customer-specific, virtual network views at the service layer, as well as tabular and graphical reports to convey information in easy to understand formats. Multi-Vendor, Multi-Technology Solution Blue Planet provides detailed SLA performance reporting information across multi-vendor network environments. While the verification and analytics functions are designed to support a broad range of performance management standards, today s support includes Ethernet-based SLA performance reporting using the Y.1731 Ethernet OAM standards, IP SLAs, ATM SLAs, and certain optical layer parameters. These functions work in combination with Cyan s Z-Series family of packet-optical transport platforms and specific third-party products. Key Features and Benefits Differentiated Ethernet Services Blue Planet s end-to-end SLA performance monitoring and reporting capabilities help service providers to differentiate Ethernet services such as business Ethernet, wireless backhaul, and wholesale transport. It allows service providers to offer their end-customers real-time insight into the status and performance of critical Ethernet services. This compelling differentiator can enhance the customer experience as a high-margin, value-added service, or as a bundled component of a premium service offering. Blue Planet can also monitor off-net Ethernet services provided by wholesale partners to verify that SLA commitments are being met. Provides sales and customer support teams with detailed customer experience dashboards to more effectively assess customer satisfaction.
