ITR is equipped with diagnostic circuitry that in case of malfunction, cause the disconnection of their output from the field. The ITR can operate in redundant pairs, in which case one of the two ITR cards pilot actuators in the field, while the other is disconnected from it, but ready for going into operation as soon as it detects a malfunction of the supplementary card.
