1 Guide to Receiving, Storing, and Handling Vaccines y This guide is not a substitute for the package insert included with each yvisually inspect vaccines for floating particles and/or discoloration before administration. y Keep vaccines in their original boxes to protect them from exposure to light (which can affect potency) and to help keep them organized. y Open multi-dose vials can be used until the expiration date on the vial, unless Vaccine Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTaP) Daptacel, Infanrix Tetanus, diphtheria (DT, Td, ) DT generic, Td generic, Decavac DTaP HepB IPV Pediarix DTaP IPV Hib Pentacel Protect both diluent and powder from exposure to light don't use if they don't dissolve Gently shake vial of liquid DTaP-IPV and withdraw entire contents. Inject DTaP-IPV into the vial of ActHIB powder and shake Use until expiration date noted on vial, unless Discard if not used within 30 minutes of Immunization Program P.O.
