1 MANUAL OF Estimated Income Tax Return SYSTEM Estimated Income Tax Return: Getting Submission Number: First step to enter Estimated Income Tax Return registration information by the user is to book a submission number. To do this, users have to click Get Submission Number menu in the top. System will then ask user to enter the following 1. User name 2. Password 3. Reconfirmation of password, 4. Permanent Access Number (PAN) if available 5. Verifying Office

2 Confirmation: Confirmation Page for Submission Number, Username and Password After entering this information and submitting the information, system will assign a unique number (e.g., ) and display it to the user. User must remember user name, password and this submission number to enter, modify and submit the records. User can proceed to enter Estimated Income Tax Return records from this step itself or enter Estimated Income Tax Return records later.

3 Registration process for Estimated Income Tax Return: To enter the Estimated Income Tax Return records user can either enter the Estimated Income Tax Return records right after receiving submission number or user can enter Estimated Income Tax Return records by clicking Update Estimated Income Tax Return menu after logging in through login form. System will then ask user to enter Estimated Income Tax Return information such as:

4 1.Taxpayer Details: A) IRO NAME: IRO Name is previously entered according to the PAN Number. B) Income Tax Return Estimated Type: User must choose the Income Tax Return Estimated Type. The estimated type can be either Estimated Tax Return or Revised Income Tax Return Estimated Type. User has to fill this field compulsorily. C) PAN: PAN is previously entered. D) Name: Name is also previously entered according to the PAN Number. E) Address: Address is also previously entered according to the PAN Number. F) Estimated Return for Income Year: User has to enter estimated return for income year. User has to fill this field compulsorily. The format of this field must be in fiscal year format (eg. 2062/063). G) Tax Payer Type: Tax Payer Type is also previously entered according to the PAN Number. 2.Calculation of Estimated Tax: A) Estimated Income from Business and Investments: User may enter estimated income from business and investments for this fiscal year. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. B) Deduction Amount: User may enter deduction amount. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. C) Exempt Amount: User may enter exempt amount according to Income Tax Law Section 11 and 64. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. D) Income/Loss from Business: Income/Loss from Business field is read only field. The value in this field is automatically calculated by the system. The value of this field is equal to Estimated Income from Business and Investments minus sum of Deduction Amount and Exempt Amount. E) Income from Other Business/Investment Amount: User may enter Income from Other Business/Investment Amount. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. F) Total Assessable Income: Total Assessable Income field is also read only field. The value in this field is automatically calculated by the system. The value of this field is equal to sum of Income/Loss from Business and Income from Other Business/Investment Amount. G) Donations to exempt Organizations: User may enter Donations to exempt Organizations. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values.

5 H) Retirement Contributions: User may enter Retirement Contributions. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. I) Taxable Income: Taxable Income field is also read only field. The value in this field is automatically calculated by the system. The value of this field is equal to Total Assessable Income minus sum of Donations to exempt Organizations and Retirement Contributions. J) Total Estimated Tax Liability: User may enter Total Estimated Tax Liability according to Income Tax Law 2058 Schedule 1 for the current Fiscal Year. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. 3.Estimated Foreign Tax: A) Estimated Foreign Tax User may enter Estimated Foreign Tax Payable in Current Fiscal Year. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. B) Estimated Income to be sent to foreign Country: User may enter Estimated Income to be sent to foreign Country by non-resident natural person having Nepal bases permanent organization. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. C) Estimated Tax on Income to be sent abroad: User may enter Estimated Tax on Income to be sent abroad. It should be Numeric and shouldn t have decimal values. User should then submit the page. If there is validation problem in some records in the page, system will show where is the problem otherwise all records will be inserted into the database.

6 Print Preview: User and officer can view print Preview of the inserted records.

7 Status: User can view his status. He will know whether his records are verified or not. He can update his records unless tax officers verify them. If tax officers haven t verified the records, user can update the records.

8 Officer login: Tax officer can verify the Estimated Income Tax Return records. The Tax Officers can only verify the records of their Inland Revenue Department; they don t have permission to verify the Estimated Income Tax Return records of other departments. Officers have to enter username and password to get access. The inactive officers are not allowed to login.

9 Viewing Estimated Returns Information: Officers can view the print preview of entered Estimated Income Tax Return records. Officers have to enter the submission number of the record that they want to view the print preview by clicking Go to Print Preview.

10 Verifying Estimated Returns Information: Officers can verify the Estimated Income Tax Return records if the records are filled. Otherwise it can t be verified. After the Estimated Income Tax Return record is verified, user cannot update the Estimated Income Tax Return records. They can only view the print preview of the verified records.

11 Updating user s information: The user can edit his records after logging in through the login form. He must enter his submission number, username and password to login and edit his information.
