12 Cooling Instructions 1. Insert product in provided bag and place in freezer for 15 minutes. 2. Lay product flat. 3. Remove from freezer and place on the affected area for 15 minutes. 4. Repeat as needed. Trimming Instructions 1. Decide which areas need trimming. 2. Peel the portion of gel needing to be trimmed away from the fabric. 3. Using regular scissors, trim as needed for a more custom fit. 13 Thermoforming Instructions ALPS Thermoformable Masks allow the surgeon to customize the Gel to the face of the patient immediately prior to the procedure. This ensures a more uniform contact between the Gel Mask and the face. Especially so in the areas the surgeon feels the need for more contact or more pressure. Use Steam Iron for Thermoforming Masks 1. Set your steam iron to the highest steam setting, be sure the water reservoir is full. 2. Once the iron has fully heated, use the iron on the fabric side; making sure the iron is moving in a continuous motion, iron for 60 seconds. 3. After 60 seconds check to see if the part flexes, if not, iron for an additional 45 seconds. 4. After ironing, test the temperature of the gel side against the back of your hand (If the product is too hot, allow it to cool to a comfortable temperature before applying directly on the skin). Apply the gel side to the patient s skin and begin forming the the product to the patient. Apply pressure where additional compression is needed in order to form the custom fit shape. 5. Continue applying pressure for 30 seconds, this allows the thermoformable material to cool and harden to the custom fit. 10

15 Case History ALPS TM Easygel contains an antioxidant that is an effective scavenger of free radicals and hydroxyl groups. Beneficial effects to the skin of patients have been reported. Clinical trials are under way at prominent clinics in the Midwest and the West Coast of the United States. This case history has been provided here as anecdotal evidence of the benefits that some patients have reported. This patient is a severe diabetic, insulin dependent with compromised vascularization. A local hospital reached out to Jim McElhiney, CPO, in Nashville, TN to evaluate this patient. These first two pictures were taken prior to the fitting by Jim McElhiney. The patient had been out of her prosthesis for three weeks and was being treated with wet and dry dressings. She was then fit with an Easyliner (Cushion Liner), and EasySleeve (Sealing Sleeve); creating a suction suspension system. After one week post initial fitting. After three weeks post initial fitting.
